I came up during the height of X’s rise, when he was SO BIG, and I remember buying his first and second album the same year in 1998 when I was a sophomore in high school. And I always loved how he was SO spiritual, and always incorporated his strong religious beliefs into his music. Nonetheless, I’m still saddened by his death, but also glad he’s at peace now. 🕊️ 🙏🏼

He did know how much he was loved and revered. He was genuinely but humbly always surprised at how much he received from so many. The problem was that he didn't think he was deserving of that love due to his faults and insecurities.

And his demons and struggles ended up being talked about more than his exceptional accomplishments. He’s accomplished stuff the majority of rappers still haven’t done till this day. I came up during the height of X’s rise, when he was SO BIG, and I remember buying his first and second album the same year in 1998 when I was a sophomore in high school. And I always loved how he was SO spiritual, and always incorporated his strong religious beliefs into his music. Nonetheless, I’m still saddened by his death, but also glad he’s at peace now. 🕊️ 🙏🏼
