I have been watching Kevin for a while now and only just discovered your channel. I will definitely be subscribing:) it’s nice to see some genuine happiness for the hobby I personally got into by accident. I bought my 16 year old a arrma notorious for Christmas and after playing with that I had to one up him and bought my self a big motor arrma outcast we love it

@@HardcoreRC I have also a 17 year old son and I understand very well. At these ages they see life more serious and care their surroundings thoughts much more than we old people. They will learn to have fun as we do in the future. 😊

I was never a fan of those big petrols but this vid could of changed my mind, they look great fun

I do know what you mean, 3 years ago met up with some that had the big petrol cars and could never see the enjoyment, then we bought one, though it would only come out maybe 4 times a year, how wrong was i and now have two and looking at a 3rd one. There is something about them that really draws you into the experience
@@HardcoreRC when it comes to rc I like hitting ramps and getting good airtime which you never see with the big petrols, they’re usually just racing around a flat track. Still don’t think they’re better than an xmaxx but still fun
@@philwebb606 Its a different type of aspect of the hobby, i was the same, boring just driving around on the flat, give ma a brushless car we can send send send.
Then we got our first Losi 6 months or so ago, and when you then drive it, the way it handles, the sound, the smell etc, it is something else and i totally get it now.
That being said i still think they look great flying through the air, and also racing them round a track rather than just a field
Dave takes his lap and skips around then hits a little hop at the end 😂😂 As far as the XMaxx body coming off maybe it’s time for a new inner cage to see if that helps. Once they start to flex to much they seem to pop off way easier. Fanjam sure looked to be a great time. Definitely gotta make it over there one day👊👊👍👍
Had to be done just to embarrass the boys 😂 cage is fairly new as it came with the Rock and Roll shell, i do have the surgical tube to do that mod. Yes you do need to get over for the next FamJam event in 2023

After all the upgrades, that is one of two weak points on my Maxx when jumping it high, the batteries like to punch their way through the chassis, anything more than 600g is almost guaranteed to do it, I would hope the x-maxx can hold a bit more
Im wondering if they have changed the quality of the chassis, never had this issue before and now seeing it happen a fair bit.
@@HardcoreRC I'm guessing so, finally made the switch to steel driveshafts, my original plastic set lasted nearly 10 months without seeing any breaks then blew through nearly two full sets in the next 3 months, as well as two chassis' due to batteries migrating through the bottom. I laminated some acrylic between two layers of foam to try spread the weight of the battery more evenly across the whole battery compartment, it seems to be holding up so far.
That xmaxx body looks awesome.

Need to put some plastic peices that resemble sharp poles, pole axes, blades on it paint them silver with rust color
Not sure plastic pieces would stay on, i have seen someone put actual metal spikes on, looks crazy but think it might hurt if it hit someone 😂

had an unbreakable blue body on the maxx, takes a lot of beatings and only scratched up. in my opinion it makes the maxx stronger on bad landings.
It certainly takes a beating, just need to find a way to spice up its looks though

Are the trucks chassis still straight? I've got same truck and scared to send it big 😂
Straight but with a big hole where the battery goes! Didn't even know that was possible to break it there

Anything can break, but sucks to break the Xmaxx there
The blue chassis is like 10 years old and was already bent, has lots of holes cut out of it as it was used to race in a previous life, the red one i haven't checked.
The exhausts on the other hand both took some damage, the Samba silenced one has a big dent in the bottom and the VCR is leaking near the spring mounting point, the blue flywheel cover was also cracked and broken when it mounts the engine to the chassis.
Lots of fun but don't think we will be jumping them like that again any time soon, If they had the brushless system then they can really take some punishment, just the petrol engines don't like being jumped like that really

I use sign writing vinyl offcuts to customise my unbreakable style bodies. Silver for the windows, red for tail lights etc.
They are great on grass as they are soft and flexible, on the road the plastic is so soft that if you flip at speed on a coarse sealed surface you can wear right though pretty quick. Not hard liek lexan so you really need some wear plates/skids on those parts which hit the ground.
My Xmaxx unbreakable body also used to pop off all the time, I figured out it was due to being so soft it flexes and comes out of the body catches. I rigged up an old centre driveshaft as a brace and a couple bits of wood/nylon with holes drilled in the end to hold it in place. They are attached to the body frame thing. Doesn't seem to pop off now but I'm not catching quite as much air as the hardcore crew.
Might have to look for some sign writing vinyl then 👍
Yeah ours alsday has some gouges from using it off road where there are stones etc, but nothing really to worry about, as you say its the soft plastic, might look at getting some skid plates made for it, sadly the stock roof skid doesnt fit this body style.

@@HardcoreRC Proline do a set of skids you can screw on, I think Arrma also has some. You can also make custom skids out of kydex which is a mouldable thermoplastic.

What's the best basher out of the RIVAL MT10 or DR8 ??
Two different cars really, for skate park bashing etc the MT10 hands down, the DR8 is great at bmx tracks etc where its higher speed and handling helps

@@BigBadBobsRC MT10 is deffo the best for bashing, just get some RPM arms for it. DR8 is a great car as well, but does need a few upgrades firstt

It's not the filming of two boys.
One of which doesn't look to be enjoying being filmed, But perhaps that's just being a teenager.
It's aspects like mannerisms that to me come across as a bad impression of Kevin,
It just comes across as cringe or overly fake to me, while making me think i might as well watch the real thing rather than a knock off.
It's just my opinion which ultimately only matters to myself nor does it make me hate the guy can't really knock him for perhaps trying too hard.
It’s not that durable used mine around 8 times all standard n had to buy a rear diff .I’ll tell you what’s durable a hpi vorza flux
All cars will break, but in our experience nothing can take the beating an Xmaxx takes and is as cheap to fix

Kev was in the video ? he was at the event. This channel is about me and my boys so mainly show that and film that, We do include Kev in some of our footage but like to keep the channel more about us. In fact Kev got very involved and spent a lot of his time talking to other people, having photos taken, letting others drive his cars etc
