Great video, was looking forward to seeing you do this. One of my suggestions for a future video was that you make something with Jasons signature tools and Jason makes something with your signature tools!! Would be interesting to see what you both come up with. All the best

"You'll hear me go fairly quiet" That's funny.
Regarding the grain match, I was hoping to see if there was a way to fix a bad match but you got lucky. Is there something that could be done to adjust?

Can you remove a bit of thread to change the start point and match the grain?

Colwyn, does the thread chasing work as well with lacewood? Also are you using a 406WL lathe or a 508WL? I'm thinking of getting the 508 and want to know if the price difference is worth it.

Brilliant demonstration.....again. Thank you Colwin. I am not brave enough for this yet. Will Ben be doing any scroll saw demos any time soon?

Hi there, thanks for the lovely comments, hopefully you can give it a go soon. I am afraid Ben has moved on from Axminster Tools, but please do explore the Woodworking Wisdom playlist for all his videos.

Really enjoyed watching this video. What woods are and are not appropriate for thread chasing? This looks like something that would be very enjoyable to try.

Hi there, dense close grained timbers work better, box wood, lignum, cocobolo, but you can also use thin super glue as a way of hardening the grain to cut a thread into. Closer grained materials will take a thread easier.
