Hi Sarah, I enjoyed your movie. I'm a collector myself, so it's always reassuring to find similar minded people who are also collectors. Typewriters are just such lovely, practical, wondrous mechanical writing instruments. And they're no longer in production, so I feel a sense of protective preservation drives me to adopt them. They've been a part of my life since I was 8 yrs and now I'm much older. I appreciate the time you put into this little project. Thanks.
Typewriters are part of my familiy legacy, personally. It's always good to feel like a part of a community. Feel free to ask questions if you want voices from Europe !
Sarah! Didn't suck! I enjoyed it,made me smile...2 years...33 typewriters. All I have repaired/ refurbished and work beautifully. Just watched your video on selling some if yours. I've done that...sell 2...buy 4 😑. Thanks for another great video. Keep it up. God bless.
Vinny Minchillo: Don’t laugh-that used to happen to me all of the time when typewriters could be had for $5.00. Never failed. I could return to my truck and the bed would literally be full of the darn things!! For a long time no one could tell me typewriters didn’t pop out kids!!
Oh my gosh, this was AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!!!!! I started collecting Memorial Day week 2020, and have owned bout 70 since then but currently have a little over 50 including some electric.
Great job, Sarah! I feel validated. Although I only have 4 typewriters, I have about ten vintage radios and phones, and 4,000 books. I must get Joe’s book (I like his style too).
I have almost 200 machines in my current collection. This video made me feel like a hoarder... I need to reach out soon and get you for an interview on Austin Typewriter Ink Podcast. Thanks for all you do for us fellow Clackers.
Aah!! You’re the one!! I thought I was the only one with the voluminous collection of typewriters!! Actually at any one time I might have had over 100. My average over 40 years is about 75, give or take. Not sure how many altogether, but I know it was a lot. The memories, stories and experiences-not near enough and all precious to me!!
I love all your videos - please keep doing them! My first typewriter was also a teal Corsair Deluxe, just like yours. I also adore my Classic 12. Rounding out the top 3 is a 1948 Royal Quiet DeLuxe. My collection is not as big as yours (yet) - I only have 11 so far. Only three have names, but eventually they all will as they reveal their personalities. I learned to type back in the late '60s on my grandmother's Royal KHM - I'm still looking for a good KHM just for nostalgia's sake, but I use all the others for writing. Thank you for sharing the typewriter love!
While attending NYU (Greenich Village, NYC.) in 1989, one sunny FALL Sunday, my wife and I were sitting on the edge of the then perpetually "dry" fountain in the center of WASHINGTON SQUARE park, just behind the "ARCH" which frames 5th Avenue looking North. We were approached by a self proclaimed "roving poet" who had some of his preprinted "works" for sale. We thanked him but but politely declined saying "Sorry but you're talking to potential competitors here" and explained why. He smiled and said "Well? Here! Take mine anyway! I'd be honored." Very smooth pitch. Wife and I gazed at each other and with the knowing "looks" that committed couples give each other we reached into our wallets and "bought" our newfound friend's printed verses from him. Whether they were original or not? At that point it DIDN'T matter. Our friend got "funded" and we got a good story out've it to tell here. This seemed to make ALL our days. (As KIRK DOUGLAS recently said "It could've been VERSE!" LOL)
This was EPIIIIIIIC and doesn't suck at all! But I hear ya Sarah... I suck at editing youtube videos, but it's not my editing, it's my turnaround time... doing a challenge this month to seriously work in that! Glad to see you successfully achieved your goal, doing an amazing job might I add!!! 😎❤👍
Might? Might?! We are crazy, no question. But life is crazy, so really, we are normal. By the way 20 typewriters in 1 year makes me roughly twice as nuts as you. Yeah. You gotta up your game! Hahaha, or not.
I really enjoyed this, well done Sarah!

Great video, entertaining and charming in its honesty and dry humor. You have my vote for a job well done and a good grade for your course assignment!

I feel like the books and typewriters go well together!
Great book!! I have it!! I live in it!! I even have copies of the Typewriter Manifesto!!

I actually recorded a podcast episode with Austin Typewriter Ink back in Jan/Feb- haven't heard anything in a bit, but I'm in the archives somewhere!
@@JustMyTypewriter The problem of having 3 hosts lol. I look forward to enjoying it soon and will give David an ear full in the mean time.

I really enjoyed every moment of this. 😁

Thanks so much for your kind words of encouragement!
PERFECT
Will you buy the upcoming LEGO functional typewriter? I already pre-ordered it!!!
Not sure- I'll let everyone else have a go first!

You win!
If 20 typewriters makes you nuts, I’ve been certifiable for 40 years! Think of all the crazy checks I could have gotten in all that time!!
@@johntapp7232 I'd love to go through your collection and hear the stories about them all.
