Brilliant. I've flown my Mini 2 for 3 years and planned an upgrade several times, but why upgrade to anything more than this when I get great results with this level of equipment? Takes the same batteries as the Mini 2 as well, so will save a bit there too. Great review!

But i sold my mini 2 - 4k to upgrade to the mini4, cos ontgerwise the only option there was to downgrade within the mini 2 from 4 k to 2.7 k - cis the mini 2 4 k was no longer available. It sucks, cos i was content with my mini 2 - 4 k with 7 batteries.... i think this is a sneaky trick
Just had to use DJI refresh today for the first time on my mini 3. I am 48 years old and have never worked with such a brilliant company as DJI. (Although my local DJI repair centre is in the Netherlands!)
Mini 2 has a couple key advantages. 1. SDK for third party apps like litchi will add functionality like follow and waypoints. 2. Wifi Quick Transfer. Also, the mini 2 has an LED at the front, but personally, I don't see that as much of an advantage. Also @DMProductions, thanks for the video, and not to nitpick, but the Spark did have front obstacle avoidance. Other than being outrageously loud with terrible battery life, the Spark was beast in both technology and durability.
I started out with the Potensic Atom 3 w/gimble, fly more package for $349. Steered clear of DJI for their geofencing...the Atom has been wonderful....I'll be trying several DJI brand next....the Mavic Pro and Avata 2 are next...I'm hooked on this and fly every day. Happy flying all!

Just bought the Mini 4K. As a first time drone user, I've just jumped in with the cheap option. If I like the whole drone hobby/experience, I'll eventually upgrade to a more expensive model.
Can you increase the focus of the lense from distance so that you can have a better view or definition of the video despite not being to close to the focus area?
ive crashed mine a couple times, once it flipped out of a tree and kept hovering, and the second time i hit a tree it slammed all the way down and was able to retrieve and it still was fine tough machine!

I agree, most will compare it to the 2SE and think, “Oh Boy! Look at all the great upgrades!” Meanwhile the Mini 2 is most direct comparison and costs almost $200 more. Which makes the 4K model all the more appealing. Really smart marketing IMHO
@@stevejakab Reportedly this is 240g, the Mini 2 was a couple more. But my memory could be playing tricks on me. I imagine the absence of the front LED would shave a couple. Still, could be important, as some of the smaller strobes weigh around 6g.
I have been using Mini 2 since I sold the original Magic. I have flown over 213km/21.6h just using Mini 2. My next drone plan is Mini 4 Pro for the better low light quality but otherwise Mini 2 is currently my favourite. This can be an option if it’s better than Mini 2 at low price when I can’t afford Mini 4 Pro.
@DMProductions How similar is it then to the Mini 2? Looks to me like the MIni2SE with 4K enabled on it. Lets face it the Mini2SE had the same camera as the mini 2 but it was some software / hardware blocking the 4k and limiting it to 2.7k. So it's not just a rebadged Mini2 as there is no LED on the front, but it looks like a Mini 2SE with 4K enabled. Now that's either just software or some other chip, but it's basically now a Mini 2 without an LED on the front right?

I do not see any technical differece to the Mini 2 - beside C0 certification... So for me they had to launch the Mini 2 under a new name to cover this marked segment with having a certified drone.
Had the mini 2 for years and I usually use 2.7k. My eyes can’t tell the difference between 2.7 and 4k. Plus it saves a lot of sd card space. If I want good 4k I use my air2. But for the price I would buy either the se2 or this one if I had to choose now. Nice marketing.
yes, just go for DJI. Potensic Atom is decent, but not as reliable as DJI, the after sale service is also not as promising, took me a year in potensic fb group to decide not to get one

I crashed my mini 2 flymore on its first flight, my own fault for rushing. Lost interest but have just ordered this. Couple of questions if i may,firstly ihave moved and at moment have no Internet and am using my phone as a wifi hotspot, will i be able to setup and use this that way or do i need full imternet ?. Also would i be better off using my original controller on this or the one that's packaged with this ?. Thank you
It really boils down to this: If you want a CAMERA drone: get a DJI. The only real question is your budget. No, those other drones really AREN'T "just as good".
I have mini 2 drone software has a bug again and won't open I'm running samsung galaxy phone but dji download for the mini 2 just says downloading pending never gets through that. Any advice dude. I think I've downloaded from your site before on the mini 2.
I have a Mavic mini that still works pretty good (batteries have some wear on them) but < 50 hrs flight time. Is this worth the upgrade or would you recommend a 3 or 4 pro? I was ready to pull trigger on a 4 pro but still in the beginner stage of flying. I was getting very annoyed with the lack of range on the mavic mini.
If you still consider yourself a drone novice and you already have a Mini, I would suggest training some more with what you have. If you crash your Mini, it wouldn't be as bad as crashing a new drone you just bought. I understand your annoyance with the lack of range, but bear with it until you feel more comfortable flying (closeby). Then invest in a new drone. At that time you can decide if you want to spend the money on a 4 Pro, knowing that you will be able to fly it safely (don't think it's impossible to crash a 4 pro, just because it has some obstacle avoidance)
I have the Mini 3 the arms and props are longer joints seem fragile compared to the Mini 4k and is smaller more compact built quality better on the Mini 4k but I do like the screen controller better on the Mini 3

No the mini 4k is essentially a re-released mini 2 and that drone never had that feature ,introduced with the mini 3 and pro

Nice video, but I‘m looking for a FPV-drone. The Avata 2 looks tempting, but I‘m not sure about the motion controller..😳🤷🏼♂️
the motion is good if you haven't flown fpv before or for relaxed flying, the avata 2 is very good tho

This is cheaper , dji don’t sell the mini 2 anymore so this is supported with dji refresh , it also has a C0 label but spec wise it’s the same
