Same here. It’s him trying too hard to be “one of the guys” when he’s so not. At least not one of the guys in the studio with him who have two things Opie will never have: 1. Great comic timing 2. The ability to laugh at themselves.
I see all of these comments hating on Opie, but for me the whole appeal of the show is the chemistry (or lack thereof) of the whole group. Every show that came out of the demise of O&A is a chore to listen to in comparison to this stuff.
@@Gloth_Sang totally, but in a way he played the role of the hole and kept the show anchored. I've tried to listen to Jim & Sam or the Anthony Cumia Show and none of it can keep my interest. Opie would definitely steamroll a good bit every now and then, and he wasn't very funny, but I'll take any old episode of O&A over listening to Anthony Cumia and Gavin McInnes trade racist anecdotes, or even worse, the Chip Chipperson show
Well, the problem with J&S and Cumia show is that Norton and Anthony is separated. The whole chemistry thing was those two, together. Opie didn’t contribute to that. If we had a Jim & Anthony Show, it would be ideal.

Ant says at 1:45 watching a movie multiple times is what a crazy person does. I just listened to an episode where he revealed he will watch the same movie days apart.
I always kinda thought Ant was helping Patti on the downlow financially. Nothing major, but a couple hundred off the air here and there. They never say it explicitly, but ant speaks so highly of her, especially later in her career, I wouldn’t doubt it
Really Opie is giving shit to Kevin Bacons brother. Hmmm there seems to be another brother suckling on the teat of their famous brother, maybe he owns a dumb restaurant in the heart of Huntington Beach.
@GG ALLIN So what's more likely, the moment you hear that sound she moves the cup, or that a microphone picked up the sound of a fart? Common sense my boy, common sense.
When they took away the studio audience, they should have known management was trying to run the show into the ground. That audience really adds something to the show. The guys can really gauge what’s working and it makes for a better show, imo.
