This was very helpful, thank you! Is there any way to show the spring as stretched/compressed in an assembly but in a relaxed/free state in an exploded view?
Hello sir, Thanks for the tutorial. It was helpful.I have understood the tutorial except how to give relation in relation dialogue box as you have not explained it.Can you please explain?
The NEW VALUE here is given as an input value like 18 or someting. Is it possible to make a drop down (like a list, 18,20,22, so that the user can't put arbitrary number or even if they can they have an option like pro program to see what value they can choose ) of NEW VALUE to choose. Thank you
Thank you sir for such a nice video. I am eager to know that will it work in simulation...just like when it is connected with two parts of a mechanism and one part of the mechanism is moved using "drag component" command? ....as we usually see in simulation of pin joint when the one the part is driven using servo motor.
Component Flexibility is a design tool independent of simulation. During mechanism analyses, flexible components are suppressed. I have videos on Dynamic Springs in mechanisms if you want to see components like that extend and compress.
@@CADPLMGuy Sir, Thank you so much for reply. I want to learn the "extension spring" in Creo...the mechanism which I want to Model in Creo is on TH-cam. If you see the video "Lever-Type Elastic-Link Switching Mechanism-1"...the same mechanism I want to do it in Creo. Will you please post the similar video but with proper explanation. As I don't have resources to ask the explanation and the similar part is going to be installed in my actual model which I want to simulate in Creo, So that I could move ahead for actual fabrication.
@@CADPLMGuy Sir I have seen the video and is nice. I tried the spring for a simple toggle mechanism (having only two links and pin). But doesn't worked. Even I tried the spring in mechanism analysis with the inputs; input and output link connected on a common axis with pin connection, motor with magnitude cosine connected to pin connection of input link, spring between input link and output link. After running the analysis just input link run with cosine input (back and forth) and no effect on output link. In reality, when input link crosses the toggle line the output link should move to the input-link direction due to the spring. But it doesent happened while analysis. The output link was just seen stationary. For understanding the toggle mechanism in Dynamic analysis in Creo will you please make the video. It would be really helpful to all the community who are using Creo assembly I'm trying to do this since more than a year. Please help me out Sir.
Has this been updated? This is so clunky and time consuming. Soooooo much easier in SolidWorks and its dynamic i.e. the spring moves in real time. Does Creo have anything like this?
Would this type of connection apply if installed on a non-Rigid constraint? What if the blue piece was on a Slider constraint? Are those parameters important for this to work?
Hi, Thanks for thetips. But : When I select the 2 points, nothing appear in the dimension box... I wonder if I need a specifique licence to do it... Strange because I can access the menu of flexible, but not use it ? Hope you can help, Tutorial very clear btw Best manu
Can you animate this? I have been unable to figure out how to model animate the spring and the assembly together. When in animation mode, I hit regenerate, it only updates the top level and not the lower level. Thoughts or ideas on how to go about doing this? I think it may have something to do with body definitions but not sure. Also I subscribed to you.
Hello Mr. Dave,
I've learnt more from your videos.
Thanks for contributing your knowledge and experience here.
Thank you...
Vinith, thanks for reaching out to me. I'm glad these videos are helpful. Dave
Your Creo content has been so helpful. Thank you!
This seems like a good solution for varying components according to assemblies, but not for assembling components in various positions.
I disagree with your second statement. That’s precisely the use case this was developed for. It’s worked quite well since Wildfire 3.

I believe you can do this with Snapshots. I recommend you watch my video on Apply Mechanism Snapshots to Drawings.

I liked this Tutorial video...
Glad to hear that!
Is there a video on how the extension spring was made?
Not that I am aware of.
Has this been updated? This is so clunky and time consuming. Soooooo much easier in SolidWorks and its dynamic i.e. the spring moves in real time. Does Creo have anything like this?

It should work regardless. Note that during a mechanism analysis, flexible components are suppressed. They will be resumed after the analysis.

What kind of license do you have, Manu?

Do these work in an animation?
No
THX!!!
Thanks for watching!
can you provide this model
No
@@CADPLMGuy I am appearing creo Pearson vue exam that's why I need this model for practice purpose
That does not matter. The models are not mine to share.
@@CADPLMGuy ok but I follow your video but I am not able to add flexibility in component.
@@CADPLMGuy this component is available on creo workbook with same dimensions
