Because nobody had time i decided to use the fantastic weather and go to fly alone like Kyle O said i must do. Beach was totally empty and the smoothest 2m/s wind was just calling me to launch. What began with a small shock ended with another amazing electric flight i wont forget so fast. Trying to get more training for low flying and had some extra unwilling training how to do low level landings if shiat hits the fan.

@@caveman8200 weight doesnt matter. you are exactly same as me with 300 and you see i can fly very well. gasoline didnt have enough power for me and it was way too heavy. this is light enough to launch easy. keep an eye out here. i try start sell asap. meanwhile you can start training. this changed my life and so it will change yours if you serious about learning

@@caveman8200 its far less dangerous than riding motorbikes. i have family too and they all support me. it changed my life in the most positive way. if the air is smooth and you have an open field around you this is totally harmless because you have no other people you need to avoid like in traffic. also what is risk free? you can walk over a street and end up in hospital. is all relative. speeds we fly are so low you can almost walk. side by side and whats the worst thing happen if motor is off? nothing because you gently float down for landing. i was doubting myself same as you. now when i fly i kick myself that i didnt start fly earlier and waited so long. dont pull the trigger for training. but go to a flight school nearby and ask them questions. tell them your worries. literally everybody there will say its harmless if you follow simple rules like not flying into thunderstorms. all other pilots will tell you the same. everybody have fear. its good. i am scared of heights. standing on my livingroom window in 27. floor gives me sweaty palms. but flying is different. i cant explain why. less fear even i fly 500 meter up. a healthy amount of fear makes us focus and stop doing stupid things. go to a flightnschool and ask for a tandem flight with trike. tell them you are hesitating to get training and need a push in the right direction. will change your life. i promise.
The trick to low flying is trims in , into the wind for minimum ground speed and remember “the motor controls your altitude in feet, the brakes control your altitude in inches “ so practice about 10 ft to get your altitude reasonably level then slowly get lower using small amounts of brake control to maintain really precise constant distance from the ground and you will be doing foot drags along the sand in no time.😃
thanks so much for those words! i am finding it hard to control altitude now with throttle only, making me oscillate up and down. trims are always fully in because i am too heavy for that 30m spyder3 anyway. and most of the time i have wind around 45 degree front from left or right side. feeling more and more confident each time. great tip with the brakes. i am still below 20 total flights so foot dragging is probably not something i wanna do right now. i also have zero interest in that. my biggest dream is to reach clouds. everything else is not important and i am flying low only to get less anxious near ground. thanks alot mate

thanks mate! i feel more confident each time and i am sure i can do forward zero wind launches soon. the riser twist was a weird one. because i extra took my kiting harness out to prevent something like this from happening. i got the wing up and made sure everything is perfect. then i put it down. unclip and lay the risers down exactly as they should be so i only need pick them up later and clip in without much efforts. boy was i wrong to think like that. always double check and do the little reverse launch flip thing before clipping in next time. i should have done this but as it often is without much experience i had thousand things in my mind that second. worked out well in the end and had a super nice flight. i was also driving around these days alot to find a different spot to fly. there is NOTHING 200km around me. that beach and another one seems to be the only option. frustrating... thanks for checking on me.

Oh I miss beach flying. It is the best way to practice all your fundamentals, especially if there is a nice wind. I prob did 100+ touch and goes last time I was at the beach.
Apologies if this comes across as rude: what is your weight, what is the size of the wing and what is the weight all-up? (Reason I’m asking is because I’m not the lightest either. I think I’m about 15kg over my wing’s recommended weight- no parameter though).
not rude at all. i am 135kg. take off weight with all gear, helmet, battery, clothes its around 170kg. my former APCO karisma 31m size was 140-165kg so the speed was always too fast and i had no flare authority for landings. thats why i just bought a new OZONE spyder3 30m size which is 110-190kg. and omg what a difference! finally i am able to get better landings. and of course low wind launches are something i could NEVER do before on my APCO wing. from experience i can say buying the new wing according to my weight was the best decision by far i ever made for paramotor flights. it was the main reason i couldnt get more flights in before. because i was always 15kg over the max limit and that combined with EN-A is a bad combination. i love the spyder3 so much that i will probably get a second one with different colors just because. i am not a stunt pilot. i dont care about wingovers or other tricks. the only reason i learn to fly is to walk on clouds one day. another interesting fact is that my weight really seem to make a huge difference in flight time for electric PPG since i have about half of what "normal" pilots here get with same battery. the smallest 21Ah pack i have get me around 10-15min while a 60kg chinese little guy can take the same battery to fly almost half hour. if you ask me because you feel difficulties to launch in zero wind for example i can say a new bigger wing will be a huge difference. happy flying!

You could make a 10kWh 96v nominal battery at under 50lbs (22.7kg) but it would cost ... well the high 5 figures currently. Fingers crossed for better and more affordable options in the near future!!!

Aye, the hype of a 500Wh/kg cell is mitigated by the fact that it costs $300+ per cell, vs $1-3 currently at 250Wh/kg. Argh! What I did learn is that cycle life for paramotors is less of a huge issue. If the cells have 200 cycle life to 80% DOD, and each flight can be 2 hours, that's 400 hours of flying!!! That's more than I've done in 4 years! I Agree on the solid core of a reliable and powerful motor, an excellent ESC, reliable throttle, and a BMS that prevents as many thermal runaway events as possible!!! What electric motor and ESC are you using? You may already disclose that somewhere in another video that I may not have yet watched. I hope the market will bear a 2.5-3 hour flight on a single charge with a battery that weighs under 50lbs/22.7kg by say July 2026. My fingers are crossed!
Don't die you survived, if the breaks lines are straight is no problems, we learn everyday that we really never learn at all. Fly Baby Fly most of the time i flight alone to your body, your mind set everything is connect to do it go forward.

@@cloudpandarism2627 Yeah man is all about that, calm, relax, why what happens, what she is doing that all happens fast and you can know what best to do in fast mode, most you flight alone more safety rules you bring to yourself.
pure magic! okok you get an insta360 cam and the GPS remote for that. then you use it to turn cam on. later in 360app you choose overlays and then put stuff where you want it.
Looked good to me. Maybe a little more flair, you can dig the breaks down all the way once your toe hits the sand, makes it a little more smooth. You still had some break left. Nice though.
cheers mate. yes i am still below 20 total flights. and i also see that i al tending to pull one side more than the other. i al trying to focus on that more. my harness is high hangpoint and brakes are very high up already. i doubt i can even reach tip steering toggles. any advice what to do? people suggest to shorten brake line but than its even more up and i need to stretch whole body to reach them. thats doesnt sound right to me... you are correct that i still have bit more to flare for sure. i gonna try to adjust my brain next time! thanks alot
Are you using full trim down for launch? After read somewhere around experts, I decided launch with full trims up and much much better now, I only use full trim down for landing.
because i am 135kg and all geared up almost 180kg i leave trims all way in because i am much faster than anybody else around me anyway. makes no sense to trim out for more speed.
interesting so many asking this question. i think they are put there to make the beach look ugly and prevent us normal people from flying. but actually the fisherman said they put nets in between to catch fish when tides are rising. i hate them with all my heart. cutting poles off only results in more poles next time i go there. (dont ask me how i know) 😅

Fly everyday or every other day at min. That I have learned the hard way. Any aircraft the same thing. That's why aviation pioneers had no families, only flying buddies.

cheers rob! yes i am working on it while we speak here. i wanna copy and paste my comment from the newest video so you can see where i am at right now: BATTERY SPECS AND WEIGHTS: Lightweight prototype (60-65kg thrust) so far: 11kg just the unit itself without battery but fully assembled TOTAL TAKE OFF WEIGHTS with different battery setups: +/- 19kg ready to fly 30-35 min with 2kwh lightweight pack +/- 26.5kg ready to fly 70 minutes with dual lightweight 2kwh battery = 4kwh +/- 21.5kg ready to fly 40-45 minutes with 2.7kwh battery +/- 32.5kg ready to fly 80-90 minutes with dual 2.7kwh battery = 5.4kwh battery +/- 37.5kg ready to fly 120-135 minutes with dual mixed battery pack (2.7kwh + 5.4kwh = 8.1kwh combined) we can continue adding up 2 bigger batteries but since 37ish kg is the maximum i saw on a fully decked out gasoline PPG i think thats more than anybody want to carry around. point is its possible now to fly long time if the pilot is fit and willing to do that. the design is made that the weight is very well distributed on the pilots back and even 35kg doesnt feel by far not the same than my 36kg moster185 before. i keep improving to get weight down.
it was 2ms. i hold up a wind meter before every flight. there might be some gusts in between over 3. but overall it was butter smooth. the spyder3 lightweight material makes it look less wind. my old APCO EN-A towel would not even want to stay up in that wind. but yes overall you are right. there were some gusts higher than 2ms for sure. 😊

the more a pilot can fly .. preflight checks less mistakes can happen. beach flying is far more easier then inland flying. i still make mistakes iam human. i dont fly as much . as i work and in uk it gets darker sooner.= less time.
i hear you! yes same here. i want to fly every day but that place is 500km and 6 hours of driving away from me. near my home i have nothing to fly. mistakes are fine if pilot is willing to learn from them. and every landing you walk away from is still considered a good landing. cheers mate 😁

PS I reached out to Amprius about their 450 Wh/kg batteries. They are WAY too expensive currently. You could make a 10kWh 96v nominal battery at under 50lbs (22.7kg) but it would cost ... well the high 5 figures currently. Fingers crossed for better and more affordable options in the near future!!!

as for batteries... yeah i know we arent there yet. i am in close contact with several battery factories here. breaking news would reach me faster than anybody else i guess. but thats alright. if something sounds too good to be true it most likely isnt. i learn that and dont get hyped so fast anymore. the current lipos i use are nice and i am pretty happy about them. wouldnt be possible 6 years ago. and we can always adapt later by simply changing batteries. most important is to have a solid core unit which i trust with my life. enough for me right now! cheers brother🫡🤗
@@cloudpandarism2627 I am itching for electric!!! I'm glad you are pushing the boundaries and staying in touch with battery manufacturers. Aye, the hype of a 500Wh/kg cell is mitigated by the fact that it costs $300+ per cell, vs $1-3 currently at 250Wh/kg. Argh!
What I did learn is that cycle life for paramotors is less of a huge issue. If the cells have 200 cycle life to 80% DOD, and each flight can be 2 hours, that's 400 hours of flying!!! That's more than I've done in 4 years!
I Agree on the solid core of a reliable and powerful motor, an excellent ESC, reliable throttle, and a BMS that prevents as many thermal runaway events as possible!!! What electric motor and ESC are you using? You may already disclose that somewhere in another video that I may not have yet watched.
I hope the market will bear a 2.5-3 hour flight on a single charge with a battery that weighs under 50lbs/22.7kg by say July 2026. My fingers are crossed!

Don't die you survived, if the breaks lines are straight is no problems, we learn everyday that we really never learn at all. Fly Baby Fly most of the time i flight alone to your body, your mind set everything is connect to do it go forward.
you are right. i wasnt panicking and saw my brake line was free. so i just thought about how to do a quick landing and get it done. later i had the most nice low beach flight ever. flying with the birds was magic...

How do you do the overlay with the speed?

okok you get an insta360 cam and the GPS remote for that. then you use it to turn cam on. later in 360app you choose overlays and then put stuff where you want it.
Looked good to me. Maybe a little more flair, you can dig the breaks down all the way once your toe hits the sand, makes it a little more smooth. You still had some break left. Nice though.
cheers mate. yes i am still below 20 total flights. and i also see that i al tending to pull one side more than the other. i al trying to focus on that more. my harness is high hangpoint and brakes are very high up already. i doubt i can even reach tip steering toggles. any advice what to do? people suggest to shorten brake line but than its even more up and i need to stretch whole body to reach them. thats doesnt sound right to me...

Are you using full trim down for launch?
After read somewhere around experts, I decided launch with full trims up and much much better now, I only use full trim down for landing.
because i am 135kg and all geared up almost 180kg i leave trims all way in because i am much faster than anybody else around me anyway. makes no sense to trim out for more speed.
What are those wooden poles that jut out into the ocean?
interesting so many asking this question. i think they are put there to make the beach look ugly and prevent us normal people from flying. but actually the fisherman said they put nets in between to catch fish when tides are rising. i hate them with all my heart. cutting poles off only results in more poles next time i go there. (dont ask me how i know) 😅

Fly everyday or every other day at min. That I have learned the hard way. Any aircraft the same thing. That's why aviation pioneers had no families, only flying buddies.

Lightweight prototype (60-65kg thrust) so far:
11kg just the unit itself without battery but fully assembled
TOTAL TAKE OFF WEIGHTS with different battery setups:
+/- 19kg ready to fly 30-35 min with 2kwh lightweight pack
+/- 26.5kg ready to fly 70 minutes with dual lightweight 2kwh battery = 4kwh
+/- 21.5kg ready to fly 40-45 minutes with 2.7kwh battery
+/- 32.5kg ready to fly 80-90 minutes with dual 2.7kwh battery = 5.4kwh battery
+/- 37.5kg ready to fly 120-135 minutes with dual mixed battery pack (2.7kwh + 5.4kwh = 8.1kwh combined)
we can continue adding up 2 bigger batteries but since 37ish kg is the maximum i saw on a fully decked out gasoline PPG i think thats more than anybody want to carry around. point is its possible now to fly long time if the pilot is fit and willing to do that. the design is made that the weight is very well distributed on the pilots back and even 35kg doesnt feel by far not the same than my 36kg moster185 before. i keep improving to get weight down.

That was not 2m/s. It was at least 3,5 m. It makes a huge difference in launching comfort
it was 2ms. i hold up a wind meter before every flight. there might be some gusts in between over 3. but overall it was butter smooth. the spyder3 lightweight material makes it look less wind. my old APCO EN-A towel would not even want to stay up in that wind. but yes overall you are right. there were some gusts higher than 2ms for sure. 😊

@@rule1dontgosplat its not to replace gasoline yet. but its an ideal second unit for the relaxed afternoon cruise around the block. i love it. and i will never go back to gasoline again. but i understand people who wanna do 4 hour cross country flights. i am happy to fly 30-40 min and come in for a rest. thst time is enough to charge second battery full from my car already.

i am pretty sure they made to impale paramotor pilots since i cant find any other useful reason for them. the fishermen say they are to tie up nets and catch fish in between tides but that sounds like a dirty lie to me! cut them off only results in having more next time i go there. Hopefully them batteries are very stable. Would not want an electrical battery fire on my back
they are. i tested the cells. even short circuiting the whole battery wont do anything. it just disconnects.

before i had a APCO karisma but that was tkk small. i just got a brandnew OZONE spyder3 a d besides the fact that it rips really easy when i just look at it funny i really love it.
the more a pilot can fly .. preflight checks less mistakes can happen. beach flying is far more easier then inland flying. i still make mistakes iam human. i dont fly as much . as i work and in uk it gets darker sooner.= less time.
