    Russia has the complete array of every kind of weapon system you can think of that they use on the Ukrainians and the civilian population. The Ukrainians need everything they can get to level the playing field including jet fighters along with longer range missiles .

    I don't know why there is such a discussion about fighter jets, because Russia is attacking Ukrainian civilians with any means, tanks, cruise missiles, fighter jets...
    Actually, the West would have already deliver all the weaponry right after 24.02.2022, if not allready in 2014,
    ah, I´ve forgotten, to that time Germany had done TOP deals with Russian gas...

      And not only Germany and not only then, but still. Jiank, the German prime minister united the Russians when he spouted nonsense about sending German tanks against the Russian army. This is a very sensitive subject for the Russians and Olaf Schlolz is not a statesman but an unthinking rant.

    • @Omega0850

      Unfortunatly, when my government has to choose between money and morals, they usually choose money. Luckily Putin basically destroyed our gas/oil trade, so we are forced to look for alternative sources. Once that is finished, we won´t have to choose anymore, and can put all our economic power (lets not forget, the German GDP is 2,5 times the size of Russias) behind Ukraine.

A few hundred tanks without air support will not make the crucial difference on the battlefield and will only slow down the swarms of orcs in their advance. It's called intelligence. He knows that these weapons will ultimately not change the conflict in Ukraine. It's too little, too late at that point anyhow, and we've seen how the western weapons are already being destroyed in large numbers on the battlefield. What difference would a few hundred tanks make? Most of them are overcomplicated and too heavy for Ukrainian conditions, and require a high level of competency to operate properly. They will probably be most destroyed or inoperable in a few months. Look at how export models of US Abrams tanks performed in Iraq - when they were destroyed by ISIS in large numbers, or in Yemen, when Saudi forces lost many Abrams tanks in fights with the Houthis. Or the Leopard II in Syria, where several were destroyed in short order by Assad regime forces using Russian weapons. Now we're talking about fighter jets? It's simply not enough and coming too late. They should have supplied all these things before the war started, not now that it's pretty much already lost for Ukraine.

    The ambassador is spot on when he says only nuclear weapons can guarantee that Russia never again attacks Ukraine. That's why they want to be part of NATO because they would be stewards of battle field tactical nukes like the B-61 bomb stationed in their territory. It's rather unfortunate that it has come to this but I see no other way for Ukraine to feel completely safe again other than NATO/EU membership. As a citizen of a NATO member nation I enjoy a relatively comfortable life secured by America's nuclear weapons stock pile. I watch videos on youtube of the enormous destruction Russia is unleashing on Ukrainian cities and the truly barbaric scale of the the death wrought upon the Ukrainian population and I then consider how would I feel if our roles were reversed. What if those were my relatives being killed by Russian missiles and Russian artillery? What if had to send my son's to fight a pitiless barbaric enemy like the Wagner mercenaries in the Donbass? Immediately I understand why the Ukrainians need our help. Not only is it a moral imperative to help Ukraine win this war but it's also a strategic one! Citizens of NATO member states can no longer take the peace and prosperity they have enjoyed for 70 years as a given. If Russia wins the events unfolding in Ukraine today are a window into the future that awaits us all!

      USA would never let Russia do that kind of damage, we would barrage the Russian positions with so many combined arms their lines would literally be wiped out for hundreds of miles. The United States can carry our sorties by the thousands operating 24/7. then roll in with tanks and secure land.

    Ukraine ignorance cost lives, and Ukraine is not fighting for its survival, Russia is only defending the four regions that voted democratically to join Russia, to say Ukraine is fighting for its survival is an out right lie. Ukraine rejected the Russian offer of a ceasefire, they are fully responsible for there own actions.

    • @nigeljohnson9820
      @nigeljohnson9820 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toughr1506 you make a good point. Nuclear powers lose wars on a regular basis, but you would be hard pressed to find a nuclear power losing a war on their own territory, so while Russia can lose a war in Ukraine, it is unlikely it will lose a war in Russia. In other words Russia will use nuclear weapons to defend its border. This is well understood by western leaders, which is why they are so reluctant to provide long range weapons to Ukraine.
      It is clearly unfair that Russia believes it can attack its neighbour with impunity. Ukraine treads a fine line between fighting back on Russia territory, and threatening Russia's existence.
      If the Russian regime is to be destroyed, it has to be from within, since that fails to provide Putin with a valid nucear target.
