Real brotherhood “To be available, to be vulnerable and to be accountable.”

So empowering for men to know that we are needed by women. As we're fighting to be better men, it's the reminder of what we're fighting for.

Sarah I want to give you a hug just for making this video. I feel like this talk is just as much about healing as it is dating.

It makes so much sense, the slide on availability, vulnerability, and accountability.

Great talk! I wish I could’ve found the Church a couple of decades ago and heard this talk when I was in my early 20s. I can still apply these principles in my life. But man I could’ve saved some heartache. Although I may have not been ready to hear it yet.

The Prayer of Fr John incase it helped to have it to read: Loving God we place yourselves in Your Presence before Your Gaze, we acknowledge that Your Gaze is upon us, You, our Heavenly Father, a Perfect Father, and we ask You for Your Holy Spirit, we ask You to inspire us in this prayer, and to touch our lives by the Gift of Your presence, Your Grace. Brothers, consider for just a moment the Father’s Gaze, that the Father looks down upon all of creation, He sees the whole earth in one moment, and then in the very same moment he sees just you, right now. That the Father’s Gaze is upon you in this moment, He sees what has unfolded in this talk and throughout this conference weekend. He sees what He has been doing to break down walls to rebuild you, to restore you. So for just a moment here gentlemen, if you would, please, acknowledge in your heart before the Gaze of the Father, your great desire for excellence, the desire to be good and holy and well, and acknowledge that you are not there yet. With the Father's Gaze upon you just acknowledge gentlemen, that sometimes it’s hard to know what we’re supposed to do, and how we’re supposed to do it, and how difficult it can be because we don't want to ask for help. We’re afraid to show that we don’t know, and so we start to look around. Gentlemen, acknowledge that at times you wonder if you are good, if people do care, if you are irreplaceable, or if people could just throw you away, and in those uncertainties where you are not sure if you are worthy, acknowledge that at times you have looked to others to find your worth, acknowledge in a particular way gentleman, that you have looked to women, that you have used them, and let yourself be used by them, hoping to find out whether or not you are good, worthy, enough. Naming that fact now, turn your gaze to the Father, He whose Gazes upon you in this moment. Take a deep breath, and admit that you need help, admit that you’re not sure what He’s asking of you, what it looks like, how it’s supposed to be. Admit that sometimes in your confusion you try to stay busy, maybe you drink, maybe it’s porn, maybe it’s just running and running and running, because you’re afraid of what you’ll find beneath the surface, and you’re afraid of what you might hear. And know that the Lord had brought you here this weekend and in this moment to quiet that down. And the Lord says to you right now gentlemen “I am here as Your Father and I delight in you. You are good, you are worthy, I have made you well, and I am pleased with you, but I have much work to do.” Hear the Father say to you “My son I will not work unless you allow me to, and My Grace will not take full effect until you say Yes.” Gentlemen, with the Father’s Gaze upon you acknowledge that this is a time of great significance, that he has you here to continue His Mighty Work of Making You Excellent, and the time has come to lower your guard, to accept His Grace, and to say, “Yes, Father, I need You, Father, I love You”. Say that in your heart gentlemen now, “Father, I need You, Father, I love You, Father, I need You, Father, I love You, Father, we need You, Father, we love You.” And Gentlemen, hear in this blessing the Voice of the Father in response to that prayer, “I come to you, I am pleased with you, you are good, and I long to make you excellent. You are my beloved son and in you I am well pleased.” Through the intercession of St Joseph, thought the Prayers and the Love of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint John Paul II, Saint Maximilian Kolbe, All the Angels and Saints, May Almighty God Heal you, Anoint you, Build you up and Bless you, In the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Sarah is amazing. Always has been. She gets so much of being a guy.

You know what's fun, when you are passionate romantic guy yet save yourself for marriage and your new wife has almost zero desire for sex even on the honeymoon. And then It gets worse later on in spite of talking about the problem and making feelings known. There are no grounds for annulment so I am sentenced to a life stuck in a marriage without passion, desire, and almost no sex.

I'm very sorry to hear this, and I will pray for you and your wife. Have you already spoken to a priest about an annulment? I don't know all the rules, but if someone is essentially asexual and did not inform you of it before marriage, that could be grounds for an annulment.
Does she intend to have children with you? If not, that could certainly be grounds for annulment. Check out this document: www.stmarys-waco.org/documents/Grounds%20for%20Marriage%20Annulment%20in%20the%20Catholic%20Church.pdf
*Willful* *exclusion* *of* *children* *(Canon 1101, sec. 2)
      *

other's right to sexual acts open to procreation.

@@Seethi_C Thank you for your prayers. I can't talk about it all here. It's too painful and complicated. I left that comment in frustration. We have children and because of that I feel trapped. From the beginning I thought there was something wrong with me. I basically would have to beg for sex and even then it was awkward, like she was just doing it for me. I gave up talking to her about it and I couldn't handle being rejected anymore. Now we go months without sex and she clearly couldn't care less. I never thought about the "Asexual" angle before. That really seems to describe her quite well. How would something like that be proven in the annulment process? Wouldn't she have to admit those feelings? I honestly couldn't see her doing that. And I just can't imagine the fallout from pursuing an annulment only to have it fail! Anyway, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

I just have to rant. Catholic men don't ask ladies out, and when a lady is forward with them, they don't like it........... I'll just have to accept being single for life and just strive for holiness and making it to eternity, because I'm tired of waiting and droppng hints.
