    I have a Touring 2.0t and this hasn't been my experience. Maybe because I have leather seats but I found them to actually be way more comfortable than every other car I've had. I've taken mine on a few cross-country trips, and the seats felt way more plush and less fatiguing, and even passengers said the same thing. Even the seats in my parent's Lexus feel way stiffer and less comfortable. I've also found the front to be really spacious in terms of breathing room, I don't feel shoulder to shoulder with my passenger and haven't had issues with leg room, head room, or arm room at 6'0. Had mine for 3 years and the infotainment never lagged or blacked out. The 10-speed is a bit jerky and confused at times, I do agree there, but in normal or spirited driving, it's smooth and intuitive enough for me. To each their own...I used to have an Infiniti G35 that I absolutely detested, and people thought I was crazy because of the rave reviews it had. At least we can both agree that the Accord is quick and handles well for what it is.

    • @n-power-automotive
      @n-power-automotive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can absolutely agree with that. I loved the car at first, I really did. I remember the first time I gave it some gas in Sport mode and I was blown away with how quick it felt. And I loved the tech when I first got it because my previous car had very little technology. But as time went on, especially once I realized I couldn’t find a comfort seating position, the other little things nagged me to death. I still loved the looks and features, and of course the driving experience, it was just too uncomfortable for me. I wonder if a Touring would’ve been a completely different experience? But I’m happy with the car I have now, so I’ve moved on and don’t regret giving the car a shot at all.

    Very informative video. It just highlights how different ownership experiences can be, from one person (and one car) to the next. I have 1-1/2 years and 20k miles on my 2.0 Sport and haven't experienced any of the, often discussed, transmission issues. I'm 6'2" and, fortunately, the seat fits me perfectly. Totally agree with the infotainment/stereo comments. Hoping that the solid engineering and reliability will continue with my current Accord. Unfortunately though, so many other people can’t get over the fact that Honda isn’t perfect and Hyundai isn’t a pile of garbage anymore. All manufacturers have issues and recalls. And no matter how amazing the quality control is, a few bad examples are going to make their way to market. I’m pretty sure I was just one of the unlucky ones that got an Accord with multiple issues. I bought a 2020 Honda Accord EXL 2.O. I went with the EXL because of the leather seats and some of the other standard features it provided like blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert. I also had read that the 17’ wheels provided a more compliant ride. I went on the make my own “sport”version by fitting it with Eibach lowering springs & front and rear sway bars. I also did some chassis stiffening with Ultra Racing strut, torsion, and power bars. I ran ultra high performance summer tires this season and I must this car is a beast. I did kind of freak out about a week in to my ownership because of seat comfort, but the leather seats became more compliant as the leather softened up. I now have no issue with the seats and in fact took it on a road trip to Florida and the ride comfort was fine. I have not experienced any of the problems that you have experienced with your Accord Sport. My infotainment has NEVER once glitched and blacked out. My transmission shifts in the very beginning of ownership were a bit jerky, but it smoothed out as the transmission “learned” my driving style. I do not find my transmission hunting for gears either. Honestly my Accord has been flawless in the 2 years and 54,000 miles of ownership. Maybe not surprisingly Consumer Reports rated the 2020 model year of the Accord with a 5/5 reliability score. As far as Hyundai/Kia I owned a 2006 Kia Soul from new and the engine suffered catastrophic engine failure at 70k miles. Luckily they DID honor the warranty and put a remanufactured engine in the Soul. I traded that car in within 2 weeks of getting it back. After that experience and all the stories I hear and read about Hyundai Motor Corp. vehicles suffering fires and catastrophic failures of engines and transmissions I could never own another Hyundai product.

      I own the 2021 Accord 2.0T Touring (40K+ miles). I agree the seats could be softer for long trips, but I never have to stop just to rest my butt. Never had a blackout of the infotainment, but I have had to restart the car to get the wireless Apple Carplay to reconnect. I live in the mountains of Virginia and the 10 speed is flawless when holding a gear uphill and downshifting downhill. It does sometimes downshift a little hard when coming to a slow stop. I replaced the rear brake pads with Akebono pads due to noise when reversing, and it solved the problem. I change the oil every 5K and the transmission fluid every 30K. I hope to take this car to 250K and beyond (I'm a conservative driver, but appreciate the Accord's ability to move with urgency when needed! As for Hyundai, I've owned a 2015 base Sonata (new) and a 2020 Sonata (new). The 2015 after 108K miles was burning oil like crazy and had VVT failure. Traded for the 2020 Sonata and by 16K miles, the front rotors needed replacing due to warping (that car would not downshift on its own while in cruise). I take care of my cars and Hyundai failed me. If they fix the engine problems, I would buy another in a heartbeat. The 2015 Sonata needed "nothing" but basic maintenance for the 108K (oil, filters, trans fluid). The brakes were still fine at 108K! Just that darn engine.

The seat calibration is simple but the Type R are not electrically adjustable so that is a big problem as well and to me it strikes me of being cheap and pushing lux to the Acura brand. @@Gropmag215 you’re 100% correct that a lot of manufacturers have issues. Hyundai and KIA get the most press because they are still tying to shake their reputation of being a cheap, throw away car company, and they did have a major issue with the Theta II engines, avoided coming up with a solution and some people are having a hard time getting them to do warranty work. There’s no denying that. The Theta II-i in that Hyundai N cars is very different than the standard Theta II with strengthened internals and really only sharing the engine block design. I haven’t heard of any stock N cars with engine failures. Not to say there aren’t any, but I just haven’t seen evidence of any. There was one Hyundai tech who owned an Elantra N that claimed his stock engine failed and Hyundai refused to fix it under warranty, but it turned out he was a dishonest person and had modified the car.

    I guess everyone have different experiences with their Honda's. I just bought the 2022 Honda Accord Sport 2T and I love it. So far, I feel my car is very comfortable, spacious, has very little wind noise, I love the heated seats, it rides smoothly, easy to handle and maneuver in heavy traffic, and I have no problems with the infotainment center in my car. However, the gas mileage does suck (22 mileage in the city) but it is no different than the last car I owned. My goal was to purchase a car that had a high reliability score. The Honda Accord never fails in this area and the resale value is also very good. The Hydundai Elantra (not the Elantra N) was the first car I looked at when I decided to buy a new car last year. However, I could not get over how the company treated its customers that reported engine problems (I think it was 2017 cars) in their vehicles. I ended up switching from Honda to Acura because of seat comfort (Accord to TSX +10 years ago). I had the same issues with hard and flat seats in the Honda. Another reason for the switch was road noise with Honda. Acura is an improvement over Honda with road noise; but, not to the same level as Lexus. Now on my 4th and 5th Acura (18 RLX Sport Hybrid & 19 MDX Sport Hybrid). Added bonus with the Acura over Honda was sport tuned sh-awd, ELS and Krell audio, Sport Hybrid System with previous gen, and sporty performance baked into its DNA.
    Exact same battery issues with Acura also. I've never gone over 4 years with the original Acura battery before I needed to replace under warranty or out of pocket with 4 Acuras. I thought I was the only one with the jerky trans and shudder when going at low speeds or when letting go of the pedal. Over some time I’ve learned to drive the car. Let the car warm up to operating temps, in slow & stop/go traffic use economy mode and just cruise. You have to use the brake pedal in this car or control the downshifting yourself. Using the brake pedal tells the computer to downshift depending on how hard you’re braking so avoid hard braking or changing how hard you brake all of a sudden . Keep a safe distance when driving, persistent pressure on your braking & let the computer do its thing.

    • @whysooblivious8342
      @whysooblivious8342 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also if you’re gonna drive fast you might as well just put it in sport mode. Once done just put it back in normal mode. I’ve realized that when you warm up the trans from driving fast so many times you get better trans performance from warming up the trans. Try to let it cool down before getting back to regular driving so you won’t get such hard & fast shifts when you’re cruising in town roads.

    • @n-power-automotive
      @n-power-automotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are definitely not the only one. I was on a 10th Gen Honda Accord FB group and there were lots of people that complained about that part of the transmission. I too started finding ways to finesse the gas pedal to try and reduce as much shuddering and jerkiness as I could. I never drove the car hard until the transmission was warmed up. It would do it the worst when the car was warming up and just accelerating at a very gentle pace. Now that I’ve moved on from the Accord and have the Elantra N with the wet dual clutch automatic, I don’t have to worry about that anymore, although interestingly enough when the car is cold and first driving it, the DCT can be a little jerky too, but it has actual clutches that need to warm up to give a smooth engagement. I hope other than the little things with rye transmission your Accord has treated you well!

    To be honest the seat of the accord is not comfortable if you are drivinf for 2 to 3 hours its fines but if you going on a long drive you ll keep adjusting the seat like me.

    0 issue with 10 speed auto tranny ,absolutely love that gearbox, about legroom up front just shocked me dude,i don't know how toll are you or what kinda seat position you like when driving but definitely it has a tone of room for driver and passenger as well ....
    Infotainment never gave me any problems ,always worked as a charm.

    For me, Honda over any Hyundai any day !

      I’m not trying to be a jerk, but if you watched and listened to the video I tell you I’m 6’3” 225lbs with very long legs, so while the Accord works for 99% of the normal sized people out there, it did not work for me. I might possibly had a bad apple of the bunch honestly. It had way too many problems for a Honda.

    I been having and accord for half a year probably, yes the seating in the driver side is terrible. You never seem to find the right seat settings and I’m not even that tall I’m like 5’8-5’10 (idk exact). The factory speakers are terrible probably because it only has 2 in the front 2 doors and 2 all the way in the back by the trunk. I’ve never had trouble with the infotainment shutting down.that was probably a factory defect. I have my accord modded so I like it even more but at first when it’s completely stock it was alright. The sport mode when you use the paddle shifters is pretty fun yea it’s not 500hp fun but for it being a regular car I think it’s good. Hope this helps anyone ! And good video !!

      Yep, that was my experience, too. The Elantra actually has a ton more legroom, but the seats are tighter because of the bolsters, so it’s a trade off.

    I have a 2021 Accord Sport 2.0t and will probably keep it for a while. The next gen accord is just too
    plain, less HP and no 2.0 engine. Good luck with the N, do inform us when the time comes to trade in a Hyundai, this is where its going to hurt.

    • @n-power-automotive

      I love the design of the new Gen Accord, but the lack of 2.0T is a deal breaker. I’m not planning on trading/selling the N for a very long time, and it’s already paid off, so I’m not concerned with trade in value.
