  • I was so touched reading this true to life story. Never underestimate the power of our parents love and sacrifices. To all the children who need to read this. I love this story. We never know the importance of our loved ones until we lose them.

After watching this story, I am so glad I fought to get my mother out of the nursing home she was in, and got her a Home Health Aide to attend to her till we got home from work and took over.My sister and her daughter and I saw to it my mother was comfortable till she died of old age. Everything in life can be replaced but a Mother’s Love is irreplaceable.R.IP ma you are greatly missed. Ms Inez thanks for helping us take care of grandma like you call her.

We in the third world countries still retain our old world family values. That is why we are different.
Our children who we send into the 1st world are the ones who think differently. It is a price we parents pay with a smile.

I also took care of my mother for three years and it was a shock for us because she was so healthy, taking herbal teas and vitamins and exercising she was a go-getter. We did everything together she was my best friend. Then I took care of my dad after he would just stay in his room my dad was an excellent Health the doctor would say boy she is like a twenty-year-old but I believe my dad died of a broken heart. And I know they're together now and they're at peace. I don't know what's wrong with this generation spoiled brats, but what goes around comes around and I'm sorry about your loss also God bless and keep you safe

Sorry for your loss. However, Shame on you for saying that about adult kids, especially when you don't know everyone's situation when it comes to adult kids and their parents. Many adults didn't get the luxury of having their parents in their lives. Some parents have children and still make it about themselves, and never make time for the children they laid down and had, that didn't ask to be here, and then want to get mad and play victim when the children become adults and never make time for them. People need to stop asking themselves if they want kids, and ask themselves if they want to be parents instead. Stop with the guilt trips.

I grew up and the farm was not enough to support more than my parents so I went into the world. As I got older the brain thingie caught up with me. My wife died, and I messed up all my finances. My son who lives locally stepped in had has fixed thing. I am very lucky to have him and thank God for him every day. Yes I am lucky

He has never had a problem with hugging mom in front of his peers, now he's worried about my husband and I because I'm going to retire from my job. I don’t think you deserve anyone’s forgiveness. You should be ashamed of yourself. My mother was horrible to me. Never loved me and put me in a children’s home when I was 14, my father was still with her but she didn’t want me in the house with her so put me in a home away from her but when she got old I looked after her until she died.

@@susanmay7807 with the exception of how judgemental you was in the beginning towards someone you don't know... Your story is 1 that sounds like you deserve a lot of respect. With your attitude about most of it though ... I hope you was kind & respectful to your Mom. Did you move her in with you? Or did you move in with her? Doesn't make a difference but I could have been just as judgemental as you was towards a stranger. She knows she made a mistake, clearly. She ask God for forgiveness... She is dealing with enough guilt without someone being rude and talking horribly to her. I hope you made peace with your Mom. I am trying to do that with mine. I moved back home over a yr. ago. My childhood was filled with abuse & trauma. Something my patens knew about but then chose to ignore and I felt so much pain from this. However, when my Mom was diagnosed with cancer my father was already battling Alzheimer's. Though Ive been told I wasn't welcome home when Id left my abusive ex husband... I decided to let that go and do the right thing. Ive healed A LOT this past yr. I stay in my camper on their property but I am seconds away whenever I was called or alarm id setup for my Mom to get m6 attention 24/7. I made it work, I have had NO LIFE because I was afraid id be needed if I went out. Long story short, my Dad passed away 2 days ago. My heart hurts but he's in a better place. He didn't know me in the end but I promise you he felt loved. Ive got my Mom doing very well but that was not easy. She came out of surgery with a colostomy. I had to learn with her and guarantee most people couldn't have helped clean her up and bath, wash sheets n clothes change her abd her bed before if i was lucky getting a Little more sleep. She seems to have suddenly forgot everything I have given up and all to be here for them. I kept my word and knowing chances were she/ they wouldn't have given up 1 thing to help me. As we prepare for a celebration of life gathering Sunday, im exhausted and hurt but proud of myself. Everybody has their own story. I know that Ive done right so regrets what happens ln down the road I feel good about my decisions. I've treated them well and know that shoe on the other foot... The favor wouldn't have been returned. That's NOT why we should do certain things. I did it because it was the right thing to do in my heart. For a very brief moment I had the Dad Id always wanted. He didn't judge or try to hurt me... Very simple things to expect from parents... Lifes not perfect but we have to do what we know is right ans try to stay positive. Ive got no idea how long my Mom has but regardless im going to be here as long as she needs me. My life changed 2 days ago in profound ways. Sunday we say Good Bye to my Dad... I can do it with no resentment and actually im grateful for how we was able to heal as a family. God Bless anybody that took the time to read this. Im sorry its so long

Life is form of a cycle. We were all born from our parents raised and nurtured with the exception of the few circumstances. When our parents getting old , naturally is our turns to look after them, is hard work , as hard worked for them to raised all of us. .. Should be traditional value, if we all practices of caring and giving, the less of our society to burden taking our elderly...

Nowadays children suck everything out from their parents n when they grow old most of them spend their twilight years alone. All they need is only for their children to spend some time with them cos old people needs emotional support too. Children run away fr responsibilities cos they have no time or want privacy.Society n work pressure do change a person esp in this cold, self centered society in the city. These kind of attitude will be regretted by children only after they lost their parents. Don't live life in resentment of guilt. It's a torment for life. Think about it.
