Many years ago, in the early 1980's, my parent's & I and my dad's 1st cousin & her husband, on a 3-day vacation traveled from northern Maine, to Riviere-du-Loup, Rimouski along the Gulf of St. Lawrence to Matane, stopping along the way to visit villages, eat meals, test my mother's memory of 50+ years to remember the French language she had taken in high school for 4 years. Much better than me, 2 years of French. We went to Gaspe where we saw the Perce Rock in the Bay de Gaspe. At that time, I don't think it had been made into a National Park. Following the coastline, we headed westward to Campbellton and west-southward to Perth-Andover, New Brunswick & Presque Isle, Maine. It was a wonderful trip with many memories. My family and extended family have been gone for many years, but the memories re-surface from time to time. Glad I have them. That trip didn't allow for much picking up of stones and I don't remember if I picked up random stones off gravel driveways or parking lots, but I expect I did. Too many years have passed.
