What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. My friend is a transgendered male and I see him tense up everytime one of his old classmates comes around. Most of them are sweet and understanding but there are the ones that are very judgmental and refuse to accept his identity. To see him get anxious and scared everytime hurts me because he’s an amazing person. We are all humans. Identity belongs to the identifier and respect belongs to everyone.

This woman was going through a lot at the time, with her transition, passing and the backlash and whatnot. Long story short, one of my coworkers recognized her and ended up finding her old male yearbook photo and shared it with some other coworkers. It was the hot topic of the time at the store. I myself never saw the pic. Yes, I was curious, but out of respect for the trans woman, I never requested to. Nearly everyone I spoke to about it thought it was funny. I got a lot of "lighten up" comments when I expressed being against it. I did get to speak to the woman before she quit, and she told me I was the only one that she had spoken to that had shown her kindness and understanding. She had two people harass her and say stupid things like "God makes no mistakes", and lots of others talked behind her back. She was pretty thin skinned, very emotional and somewhat incompetent - I was training her - but she didn't deserve to have people disrespecting her that way.
I don't know where she is today. I hope she's in a good place and is thriving.
Well, thank you so much for your tolerance and patience towards her. I know you personally are against it and that's fine, but I've seen far too many commenters talking about trans people like her behind their backs while in the same breath claiming they support her. I'm sure she's still appreciates you standing by her, all things considered. Some may not accept others for being identified as LGBTQ but still treat them like human beings. That's all they are. Obviously it would have been best if everyone were born in a way that felt comfortable to them right away - nobody _wants_ to struggle with gender dysphoria. It means a lot to me especially since the country I live in is in no way accepting at all. This just makes me feel warm inside seeing people be so kind :)
I am a transgender man just like Morgan. I have experienced this kind of discrimination online (thankfully not in person) being told to kill myself, I’m a freak, I’m not worthy of love and so many other things. It’s extremely hard and hurtful. I’m way happier being male (been on testosterone since February 4/19). People just need to understand it’s not affecting your life if I transition and finally be happy so why does it bother you so much!?!
