We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning th-cam.com/users/postUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.
I heard some music being played across the warehouse were I work, I thought it was coming from a highfi system, the sound and bass sounded massive. I was shocked when I found out it was this little thing. I gonna treat myself to one for Christmas to take on holiday next year,, if COVID allows.
you should get one its worth a buy but the down side is it only sounds from 1 side of the speaker its a mono speaker

I just bought 3 of them, my nephew got on for christmas and i was very impressed of the sound and bass quality of this thing. So i just bought one for me and the other 2 for my sisters :).
Heard a guy at my work playing one of these the other day. I bought a UE Boom a few days prior. Just returned it and picked the charge 4 up. Amazing!!

Excellent review. The Extreme 2 has 2 midrange drivers + 2 tweeters. The Charge 4 has just one driver, yet it can compete against it. At times it even sounds better. Extraordinary!!!

I was able to experience the capabilities of this speaker when I heard someone play it and I'll treat myself to one of these ASAP. The bass was powerful and so is the midrange and it was being played outdoors and to my surprise, it only has one oval main driver!
I just bought one its absolutely awesome! I went sun up to sundown and it was still rocking hard!

Sounds amazing, I have decided to buy myself this speaker as a treat for my new Job title. Audiophiles understand the value of sound, nothing beats lighting up a Joint and listening to quality soundscapes. I just hope it's durable enough to keep for years. I dropped my Harmon Kardon onyx years ago, it was never the same. The JBL onyx is still the best speaker I have owned. I'm hoping the charge 4 blows me away.
I really want a BoomBox, but went for this one as a smaller carry around. I hope it lives up with my expectations. 🤞🏻❤️

It is good for casual listening, but if you want to step it up a notch and like to blast loud music outside, get the Xtreme 2.

And can this speaker be run on electricity permanently?
I want to just place on a table in the kitchen most of the time. And if it is on most of the time, I will have to eventually keep it plugged in.
A bizarre question, but will the battery be affected in the short term or the long term?
I have watched so many reviews about all the JBL speakers as well as from other brands, but absolutely NO ONE talks about what will eventually happen to these lithium batteries.
And I am surprised hardly anyone asks...
Surely that’s a tech’ factor which should be mentioned just like the Db, watts output and signal ratio?
I mean, we are comparing products and helping the brand sell more without knowing exactly what we are getting!

Bought the Charge 4 a few months ago and WOW!! Could not be happier. I own and use QSC and Bose systems and only bought the Ch 4 for home use and occasional family get togethers. This is a great sounding speaker and I would Highly Recommend even over the similar size Bose products. It is a keeper !

C kavishka Ranasinghe it comes with a charging chord but no plug in charger for some reason. I have a dual plug in charger that I use for my charge 4 and my phone.

The charge 5 is coming Next year but I have the flip 5 right now but I feel like I should have went with the charge 4 with 20 dollars more idk if it is worth the upgrade I love my flip5 but I want somthing a bit louder and better idk if this is better

I have a charge 4 and I like how durable it is one time I went to play some music outside with it, and my brother had the audacity to just pick it up and throw it as far as he could but I was really happy because it survived so yeah that’s how truly durable the JBL charge 4 is I’m impressed

I have one of my sisters own the JBL FLIP 3, when I played music on it the very 1st time (like 5 yrs ago), I couldn’t believe such quality of sound to hear out of a little handy speaker!
The most incredible part with it, it has those 2 side radiators that improve the bass sound of it, since that time I fell in love with JBL speakers but never had a firm decision to buy one,
Until 2 days ago, my elder sister comes to visit us and I saw her JBL Charge 4, I tried it and it feels like your in a nightclub! so I went over eBay and ordered one for $110 only from USA seller, brand new.
In stores, they go simply $150 or more

It's good until you play rock or metal. Which is what I listen to 90% of the time, with double bass it vibrates all over the place. I bought a Jam Heavy Metal speaker and it's rivals this or any Bose and it was only around $50, actually made of metal/body/grill etc. This one is GREAT for R & B, etc. My father has the 3...same thing.

I just recently buyed a jbl charge4 at china online selling. For 128usd. It seems a original items. When i played it for 90%volume from fullcharge it only plays for 6hrs and half only. Is this have a battery problems?
No, the maximum battery time (~20 hours) are on low volume. the higher the volume, the more battery it'll use
Would you recommend this over the Bose revolve?
Yes, I would recommend the charge 4 because it is water proof, cheaper, and sounds just as good. The Bose Revolve is water resistant, but it does have 360 degree audio which is nice. I would still go with the Charge 4 though

I would recommend any JBL product over it’s Bose equivalent. The sound from JBL is just as good and it’s a lot cheaper.
I have the revolve plus and the charge 4. The revolve has better overall range, better midrange, more volume and cover the sound in 360°, It´s a matter of taste but I prefer the design of the revolve plus. However the charge 4 it´s outstanding with that price range, better mid range than charge 3, better battery tahn revolve plus and is water resistant, so go that charge 4 without hesitation. If money is not problem and you aren´t going to use outside frequently, deffinitely go for the revolve plus. Every brand has it´s own pros and cons. Sony announce this month (MAY 2020) their new srs xb 03 series of speakers with a new type of driver of cellular cones on the driver but the design are ugly >_
I have one and it sounded too bassy and muffled until I installed a 3rd party EQ app which completely solved the problem. I wish JBL would include an EQ though.
Which EQ app did you use?
@@flakjacket8932 I just used Bass Booster from the android play store. There are many eq apps.. but as far as i can tell, they're all the same.

The eq apps help a lot, but using one will reduce the battery life significantly.

I think this one is better than pulse 3? Pulse 3 playtime only last for 3 hours and charging it takes 5hrs to be fully charged. 😭 I thought playtime last for 12hrs. Guess I should have bought the charge 4 instead. 💔

Lucky man and Finland is a good country even in my country Lithuania really poor country maybe 100 times poorer than Finland but Prices in Lithuania is too much i bought JBL charge 4 for 159Euros .I must look for cheaper alternativesi can order stuff even from Finland i heard electronics are cheaper here than in Lithuania.

Can someone answer me. Does its normal if I'm using the speaker but the light indicator for battery are suddenly lights up then disappear, until it lights up again and disappear again?
Yes totally normal. The lights turn on when:
You skip/play/pause the song
You change volume
Turn on/off the device and while charging it keeps light on... So if lights go off while charging them it might not be charging properly. Use only the cable that came with it.
If I use this for PC Audio, would it be alright to use it plugged to the power always (like a laptop would be)? And audio would be through an aux cable.
Nah don’t use it for that, it’s only one speaker inside, no left and right channel. Better for outdoors
If you want better bass, place it against a wall.

I would definitely recommend the JBL Xtreme. I haven't had any issues with the battery and the audio is really good.
