    After playing together for a quarter they figured it out. Paige is truly Elite and a floor general. Samuel came in and played really well and hit her shots. The freshmen class will be the X factor to winning # 12 plus Chin. I'm heading to XL Thursday nigh. Go Huskies! 💙

      @Aaron.Davis56 enjoy the game. Very jealous. curious to see how many minutes Samuels gets vs USC. They played her a bit in the tournament as Shade struggled to match up at times vs the big guards.

    For me Jana is the one, she has to be the force downlow. I'm not talking about her scoring but rebounding and defense, and of course keep from getting in foul trouble...good luck ladies 🎉!

    Honestly the key for UCONN will be the bigs. Personally I think Geno recruits to many guards. And that’s why they have not won a championship since Stewy left.

    Paige put the country on notice and UConn will go as far as she takes them. Too many players coming off significant injuries so we just do not know how much they will contribute especially Azzi and Griffin. Freshman are talented but they are freshman. Chen will help especially when Paige is resting. Jana will be another Ice after missing a whole year and Ice herself needs to make a big jump. Not a KK fan and Q needs to make a jump also, never know what she will bring game to game. Can they win #12, yes, but it will be on Paige's back.

    • @dougpost8958

      You can comment about freshman, and many do, but ... last year's freshmen got them to within a basket of the championship game. And barring any major injuries this year, they can be brought along more slowly than last year and integtrated into the system. And if injuries occur, well, we saw how last year's group responded.

  • @TheDisruptiveOne
    @TheDisruptiveOne 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    What worries about UConn and Notre dame are the injuries. The season hasn’t started yet. And both teams already have 5-6 players unavailable. Are the huskies and Irish really going to get healthier during a run of 40 games? There is no margin for error for addition injuries.

    • @dougpost8958
      @dougpost8958 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      KK was held out as a precaution, given it was an exhibition, and Azzi is days away. Doesn't seem like anybody knows about Ayanna. If Cheli can't shake all the 'niggles' perhaps they'll redshirt her. Everyone knew Aubrey wouldn't be back until after the 1st of the year. And as the video stated, everyone wishes Caroline well for her life's future, if BB can be part of it then that will be a plus. ND seems to be in worse shape, but I haven't looked closely at what the injuries are and how long people will be out. But if Sonia and Liza and Maddie (or any combination) are out for any extended period, that will have a major impact. But boy their guards looked good yesterday! I wondered how they would fit together on the floor at the same time, looks like they will do just fine. And keep an eye out for Michigan's #12 (Syla Swords) as a freshman of the year candidate. She looked really really good. And she played for the Canadian Olympic team, so she has played against pros and other world class players.

    • @RustyLou18

      @@dougpost8958 Notre Dame is NOT in worse shape. Just look at Miles, triple double. ND will beat UConn, you can take that to the bank.

      @@RustyLou18 Game is 5 weeks away, both teams will refine some things between now and then. If Westbeld and Karlin aren't available, meaning both teams basically have freshmen/sophomores up front, then I'm happy to pit Bueckers/Fudd/Arnold/Chen against Miles/Hidalgo. If ND can only play 6-7 players a night for the next few weeks, UConn will be better rested and ND will already be starting to wear out their backcourt.

    It's really too bad that Azzi was robbed of most of her collegiate career and basketball was robbed of what would have been one of the all time greats. Azzi legitimately has the purest shot in wbb. She is an amazing shooter and smart player. I sure hope, mostly for Azzi's sake, but selfishly for the bball world, that she can remain healthy. She's the best player I've ever seen not even get to play one season.

    The key player to me in winning this whole thing is Fudd because there going to be challenges in certain conferences dealing with foul trouble to key players with UCONN . Fudd has experience in tournaments that going to be needed. Certain conferences with these refs call the game real tight.

    • @RustyLou18

      Fudd has been "absent" from the get-go, she's NOT a difference maker on this team. Shade has FAR surpassed her.

      Fudd when she was healthy and when Paige was out she scored 32 against Texas a ranked team at the time and NC STATE which was also ranked. Her day view she scored 27 against Tennessee. I say when healthy she can make a difference Shade I like Shade a lot but she never had to play without Paige or have a take over presence yet. Her Junior she she will be asked to lead. But as of right now it too much pressure.

      Fudd did very little in her two games last season before she was injured again. She is not what she was. Having said that, I think Shade needs to prove she can be a more consistent scorer. She was streaky last year.

    It's fairly obvious after two games Paige Beckers, Sarah Strong, Cailyn Chan and Ashlyn Shade will be in the first five to start the season. The 5th player would I think be either Jana Alfifi over Candace Samuels. Although, Jana is prone to fouling early but her presence would certainly be getting some attention if not for Paige and Sarah, Jana would most certainly be double teamed. That's a dilemma Geno would welcome considering Sarah and Paige would create a massive headache for the opposition. No player in the womens NCAA will be able to defend against these two throughout the game. Uconn will be pretty intimidating if these two can play together throughout the season without injury. I would go as far as saying if the team atm goes through the competition with no serious injuries they will have an unbeaten record and the national championship. So yes they will overcome South Carolina now that SC have no Brazilian Tower Cardosa to block out the Uconn bigz this year. With Cardosa I would have to bet 50/50. But that scenario has shifted the real dominant back court for Uconn most definitely. Jana, Sarah and Paige each have to much fire power individually but on court at the same time? Wow. Also with Chan at the helm as point it's gonna be a very dynamic team if they all click moving forward. Can't wait. It's gonna be "Show Time" with the Uconn Huskies!

    I don’t want to see like a hater but I hope Azzi doesn’t come back until late December or January so UConn can build chemistry without her cause I don’t think she’s gonna stay healthy unfortunately and having her pop in and out of the lineup isn’t gonna be good for them. Same goes for Caroline. I’d rather they get consistency without them then if they do manage to stay healthy it’s just a plus

    Ladies need to get better at the post position for sure..Overall This is what I will expect from Paige until she leaves for the WNBA which is to be a scorer first since she is a great shooter from anywhere on the court..Once Azzi is back this will help Paige going forward...With the addition of the freshman and Caitlyn Uconn will be ready to win it all at the end..People can forget about Caroline..She won't be back. There seems to be more than just a concussion but we will see..I expect Shara to just get better and better..She looks like a strong rebounder for sure. The player that will be a surprise will be Allie Ziebell..She's going to be the replacement for Caroline since she has a great 3 pt shot..She is ONLY going to get better as the season goes along.
