transkript: Hello here is Carl the landscape guy. In my new office I’m installing a split air conditioner system, that will be used for both heating and air conditioning. The model I chose is a 9,000 BTU 2.6 kw precharged inverter kit. Among other things, the manufacturer advertises that this system saves energy and is very quiet. It has an antibacterial coating on the fins, works with a new, environmentally friendly refrigerant and can be controlled via WLAN with a smartphone app. This system comes with the coolant prefilled unit, 9 feet of refrigerant piping, and small parts such as a feedthrough tube, insolation tape, sealant and rubber mounts. There is also the outer wall bracket, which I will show you later, when it comes to the assembly of the outside unit. Then here we have the indoor unit, which is very light. It comes with a cable that will connect both units. It also includes the manual, the remote control and a wall holder for it. Both devices seemed to have been well-packed and arrived undamaged. This is the back of the wall mount. The indoor unit will go on this brick and concrete wall. I measure the distance between the holes of the wall bracket from the outer edge of the unit. Horizontally, the plate is slightly adjustable. A minimum distance of half a foot from the ceiling must be kept so that the air can flow properly. I draw the height of the upper holes with the help of a level. The wall bracket can be easily detached from the plastic unit. It clips on at the bottom. I use the bracket to mark all holes exactly. I use a 5 mm masonry drill with a Bosch Hammer to make the holes. When drilling indoors I use the Kärcher wet & dry vacuum cleaner to catch most of the dust. In case you are interested, I will link all tools below in the video description. By the way, the rawl plugs and screws were not included. Now I will prepare to drill the 65mm hole in the wall. First I mark the position of the hole. You will find the distances for the hole in the installation manual, they are different for each unit. I use a long masonry drill to pre-drill the shank hole. I make sure that the hole is angled on a downward slope. When the guiding hole is all set, I set up the 65mm concrete shank drill bit and start making the hole little by little. Every few inches I empty out the drill. I drill from the inside out as far as I can get. This wall is 40 cm thick. You can get a longer drill bit or drill from the outside. Thanks to the guide hole, I know where to drill. I am making sure the inner and outer holes are matching up nicely. This drill bit wasn't that expensive and it worked pretty good so I will link it in the description. Now, it’s time to go back inside. I connect all cables and wires to the indoor unit, starting with the power cable. Here you can open the maintenance cover, underneath is a cover for the power terminal. All wires are labeled which makes connecting very easy. The wiring on this unit is all set so now I reclose it. I lay the indoor unit on the floor so that I can lay all the cables out and line it up directly under the hole in the wall. Next, I roll out the copper lines and try to get them as straight as possible. Next I will connect the coolant lines to the inside unit.

I have multiple mechanical experience, and I learned to do test, before final assembling of pipes or wirings. Whole system might changed for something reason. Here in Finland assembler need licence for that job. Advice for buyer: You can found manuals of many AC syntems for comparison from internet.

You demonstrated good preparation and understanding of what’s required prior to the implementation of the step by step installation. Majority of the HVAC technicians don’t do the correct way of insulating the influent and effluent line like you did. In addition you installed isolator under the condenser unit to minimized vibration. Good job and thank you for sharing!

Most AC units here in Bulgaria come with free installation by a qualified technician, which I very much appreciate. By no means does that stop me from watching installation videos though :D By now I have watched maybe 15-20 videos, and out of them, yours look the most professional (except for the vacuuming part). At first it even seemed like a bit of an overkill to me, because of all the extra insulation, but I do believe that it will greatly benefit the energy efficiency, so it's good. Thank you for sharing this experience with the world!

One question though: regarding the water hoze (where water will come out from) => how will you clean mold inside it? (it eventually comes).

Man I gotta say, but that was an awesome install. I absolutely love the way you payed attention to detail. You it did so neatly and tidy especially with the outdoor PVC piping and brown plastic housing for the power cord... 🧰👍 For some reason regular installers do it in 5 minutes without all them beauty covers and what not, plus they dont even install all the parts in - in my case they didnt put back the metal cover inside the main unit where the AC power lines go, so I had to put it back in myself... I always keep hearing "we're in hurry/there isn't enough time etc. etc" uurrrggggg 😠 What a load of nonsense/rubbish! - its simply no one wants to do it quality and just trys to half-ass it... which is unfortunate indeed 😔. As the saying goes, "Sometimes you gotta' dump the baby out with the bathwater" - ironic isn't it...

Great job and very clean installation. People please use a vice when cutting with any kind of cutting disc and powered tool. Seen people loose fingers trying to cut like you did when splitting the 90 degree bend pvc.

Well if their fingers are loose they should tighten them with the torque wrench

Carl, Maybe you know by now but I did not read anyone making comment on, that you are not getting the proper torque on your flare nuts when you use the Crows Foot adapter, the way you did it would increase the torque, you must understand that the torque is measured from the center of where you attach the socket, it is measured from the center of the square to the pivot point on the handle and if there is no pivot point then it is measure from about the center of the handle where your hand covers. You can use a Crows Foot but you must have the crows foot at a 90 degree not straight out from the end, if you do straight out you are without question putting a HIGHER Torque on the fittings. Fittings have a min. and max. Torque value. and we must keep it in that range. Hope this helps and also for all your TH-camr friends other than that you did a GREAT job. Thank you!

Yes, Agree with all other commenters in the feed very clean and precise job, hats off. This is how you install when you do it for yourself no commercial installer will do a good job like this for you because he needs to do one more installation with the time and material that is used in this installation so he can max his income :-) no offense to the commercial installers.
    Well done.
Thank you for putting the time and effort in making and sharing this video with the audience this is mush appreciated.

This is exactly why it is often better to do it the DIY way than hire in a "professional". You took more time, had more eye for detail and at the and have a better than professional installation. Very clean and good installation, I am sure you will have much pleasure of This unit for years to come, well done👍👍👍

I didnt see when you have to open de valves with Allen keys in the compressor unit. besides that NICE JOB! Very good and clean job. and the best thing, you have good tools. I always judge a technician by his tools. Impressive!!

You forgot the only part of releasing the compressor valve for the suction and discharge line . That was very important before run the unit . By the way your installation is very well done sir 👍🏻😊

A good idea is to use lock washers or nuts with neoprene inserts and install nuts from the bottom in case nut does fall off the bolt will not fall but will keep the unit from moving off the bracket !

I am pretty sastified with your neat and perfect spectacular aligned installation. But i think if you get the connections of cooper tubes underneath indoor unit .The connecting flare nut could leak the referigerant in future. You have to remove all the installation kit to re flare leakages. I am also pro installation technician. I make hole left side of the indoor the connections will always easy to remove indoor unit for washing purpose or maintenance. And also hidden from sight.
I hope you got my point.
Your professional skills appreciated and admirable. God bless you.
