    Have watched various reviews. Every rider has been pleasantly surprised at how good it is. Any negative comments are only from the usual crowd who haven’t even ridden it.

      Deep down I’m a Honda guy so a little biased. Only criticism is it’s a little agricultural at low revs. For most people this is a much better suited bike than the Africa Twin (which I once owned). 👍

      Maybe the next best thing to a goldwing. We don't even have the nt 1100 in the states

    Huge fan of DCT, especially in the city. Bought the NT 1100 a few months ago and am thoroughly enjoying it. Very stable in both very low and high speeds. Only thing missing is a place for the smartphone while using CarPlay.

    • @CodgerBiker

      Really liked it. Quite a surprise. I guess a phone mount might work given it needs the cable. Shame there is not a place with the USB inside it. 👍

      @@CodgerBiker The phone is in the pocket. The USB cable from the socket to the seat goes under the fairing. Wireless Bluetooth Adapter under the seat.

    Really good user view. Especially the DCT. Think I now have more info about how the bike actually works than most other reviews who seem to mainly quote the spec sheet..👍

      I hope it helps. I did own a DCT Africa Twin back in 2018, so I'm familiar with the system - works well in this kind of road bike I think. 👍

    Test rode both the DCT and manual NCT after watching. I have to say I preferred the manual for the reasons you mentioned. Loved the bike and have ordered a really nice matt jeans blue with the voyager kit. I love the look of the bike and I’m looking forward to the summer! Thanks for the review.

    I went to buy the DCT, however after talking with my dealer about my usual riding locales (back road tight twisty stuff), thought the DCT may be problematic due to the lack of IMU and will need to constantly tell it change gear coming into corners. They could've easily sold me the DCT version having two on the floor. Left and asked a mate who used to have the older DCT AT, his words, yeah nah, the lack of IMU makes it painful in the twisties we ride, was his main reason for selling and replacing with the later model DCT AT with the IMU, reckons its chalk and cheese between the two, loves the new AT as is intuitive. Went back to the dealer and ordered a Manual with quick shift kit fitted. Picked it up a week later, and man what a great machine, love the gearing and sound from that tail pipe, especially that little cackle changing down. The quick shift is fab, both up and down the box. A far more entertaining and engaging bike than the GL1800 i was riding.

      790Adv has had its 27k service last month.
      Did you get an average mpg from the Honda?
      Enjoyed the review because you rode the bike in the manner and environment it was built for.

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      27k that is impressive. I always knew the 790 was a great engine. I didn't get an Mpg. It being DCT, if you rode it in Drive it'd probably get 250 miles to 20L. But I doubt anybody would do that. 180 miles to a tank looks more likely. Not as far as a 790 that is for sure 👍

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not ridden the Tracer 9GT, but I’m sure both bikes are great. It’d be down to individual preference after test riding both, checking out availability and deal offered. As well as that indefinable something that makes one bike suit one person over another.

    • @stevevaughan5979

      I bought a 22' 9GT and have just px'd it for the NT DCT.. I found the 9GT to buzzy... Was a wonderful ride tho.. but there's something about the Honda the moment I got on it.. more relaxed.. more comfortable.. just easier to live with... I'm 60, so comfort and ease of use was important for me... But I can understand why people rave about the 9GT.. awesome bike.. just wished I could justify 2 bikes like this..

    Modern Oxford heated grips do not stay on after ignition switched off, either when wired into the harness or if wired direct to battery. I have two bikes one where Oxford grips wired in to harness. The second bike has it direct to battery, where, unless switched off at Oxford controller they switch off automatically when a preset voltage drop is detected (so if you re-start the bike before the controller automatically switches off the grips they will still be on.

      Worrying re Honda, bought a used Honda from a main dealer not long ago unseen, a long-long way from my home believing the Honda quality promise - not a bit of it, in a filthy caked condition, on wheels and underneath and a front tyre advisory!!! Wrote to Honda not mentioning dealer and their company legal blurb was usual rubbish! Dealer to be fair did put hand in pocket and pay for everything but totally rubbished the Honda service status in my mind! The true Honda bit, the bike, perfection!
