A great piece of trivia: Amy Winehouse, Adele and Leona Lewis all attended the same London performing arts High School (not at the same time). But they all had the same voice teacher there. He really taught them how to sing very well and control their big voices.

Also it's so weird to hear her talk in a British accent since she sing in an American Southern accent. It's like with Amy Whinehouse and Billie Holiday - you just know Adele listened to and loved a lot of singers with southern accents, so that became part of her voice, too.
