Zig Zag Railway, Lithgow

Enjoy the spectacle of steam power as Ex Queensland railways locomotive N°218A traverses the Great Lithgow Zig Zag. The "ZigZag" severed as the original main western line till 1910 and was considered an engineering marvel in its time allowing the railway to overcome the sheer sand stone cliffs of the Blue mountains.Tourist railway operation resumed in late 2023 after a long hiatus from operation.

Probably the best video of the Zig Zag I have seen. Excellent use of the drone (and matching the sound as well). It did well to cope with the wind too. Well done.

I visited on the 14th of April 2024 and had a fantastic time. I was on the 12.30 run to Bottom Points and return. The trip was made all the more enjoyable by the great group of volunteers who assist the running of the venue.
