They almost look like Irises. I noticed the spreading effect during the wet on wet phase more in this video for some reason- fascinating to watch. Very nice result.
Beautiful! I just resigned the rose painting I did from your skillshare class and will be doing that again. I was not using a block and that made it tough. Can’t wait for my block to arrive and get started again!! Thanks Anna!!😊
Anna, I love this painting! Thank you for graciously sharing your art with us. I am a detail oriented artist working in oils. Lately I've been exploring the genteel art of watercolour and found you. Your realist style speaks to me and I'll be jumping in very shortly. 🎨🙂
Thank you so much Eva! I really appreciate your kind words and I am glad you've enjoyed the video. I am sorry for the late response - it's been a crazy year for me [and everyone] and I am barely staying on top of my work and youtube messages. Please don't hold it against me! Have a wonderful day :)
This came out lovely! It's always a pleasure to be able to peek into another artist's process, thanks for sharing. I have subscribed to see what you are up to next 😄
Beautiful as always !!!! Purchased some of the QOR watercolours you mentioned in other videos…. Could you please relay the music that is played in your videos..thank you !
Beautiful as always. I'm so jealous atm with everyone's beautiful watercolours, it's been so stinking hot here for the last 5 months, even when the rain hits it's still high humidity. My paper doesn't stay wet let alone damp.
Oh no!!! I totally get it although I’ve only experienced this when painting on vacation in Mexico 😊 - it’s bloody cold here in Canada most of the time. Have you tried a wetting medium? It would help. I use QOR medium but heard good things about Winsor & Bewton too. They last a long time - just a few drops in the water is all you need 😊
Hi Anna - I just came across your videos today, plan to watch a lot of them... this one in particular was an absolute pleasure, I'm wondering if you have prints of this image available for sale (or if you'd sell the digital file and I could make a print myself)?, it just really speaks to me and I'd love to have it hanging on my wall! Thanks for sharing your talent 💜💛💚 Lydia
Thank you and this is a very good question! :) If you've seen my video of top 10 favourite pigments I use predominantly Daniel Smith, but also QOR. QOR is very different from any other brand - MUCH MORE saturated and pigmented - which only works if that's the effect you are looking for. For the most part I prefer my paintings super vibrant, and this one in particular I wanted EXTRA :) So i went with my QOR's. In general QOR's Dioxazine Purple is my forver love and I use it everywhere. Their Quinacridones are amazing if you are looking for an extra boost of color :)))) Let me know what you think if you ever try QOR!
I will start by apologizing for my English, I do not write very often in English. I'm a Dane I have Qor watercolor and I find them uncontrollable and difficult. I can't really make them work for me. But I agree with you that they are incredibly vibrant. And I find your tulips very inspiring, so I have to work with them a little more. I usually paint with Schmincke, Winsor & Newton Pro or Sennelier. I've never tried Daniel Smith watercolor, they are very expensive here in Europe together with M. Graham watercolors.
Vibeke please don’t apologize - your English is great! It’s also not my first language 😊 Daniel Smith is also expensive here in Canada (but so is WN!!!) I find Daniel Smith easier to control compared to QOR, and I love their quality. But for super vibrant pieces I always end up going back to my favourite QORs like their Purple 😊 I think it’s just a preference! Everyone has their favourites - I will do a video just about QOR to showcase it a bit more. ❤️
Hello Anna this weekend i painted a pansy in a mix of Dioxazine purple and Quinacridone magenta and the two colors work well together and are easy to work with. BUT when I had to mix the green colors of the leaves, it was really hard to get some good colors, the colors were muddy. I think I will choose the colors I like and maybe forget the rest of the set. I would like you to use Qor again, maybe I can learn more and how to use them :-) Bye the way I saw your video about Escoda Versatil travel brushes and chose to buy a set. And you're right, these are also the best synthetic brushes I've tried. Ps. Daniel Smith watercolor is 30-40% more expensive than WN in Europe

Just amazing. Congrats
And thank you for sharing. How can I get the picture of the tulips to make the drawing? I"d love to give this painting a try
Love the colours, I have opera rose it's fugitive color so I don't use it.tfs
Beautiful painting, you are amazing.
Is there a reason for that you are use Qor as the main color and Daniel Smith for the rest. ?
