    This is my first year growing a garden. I'm doing tons of pole beans as well as others; all in pots like yours.
    Thanks for the tips!

    When my husband was alive, in NJ, he planted bush beans and they kept producing through summer and we had many beans. Plenty enough for the two of us. It was a small garden so was only about 12 plants.

      @@harvestinghistoryllc3161 are the cloth material pots ok?

    • @harvestinghistoryllc3161
      @harvestinghistoryllc3161  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@racqfitness7028 Cloth pots are fine as long as they are sturdy enough. Remember, the pot is holding 6 plants which are at least 4-6 feet tall. If the plants are subject to winds, they will move significantly in their pots. The movement will disturb the soil which may damage the roots. The cloth pots need to be very strong and stiff.

      Lionspurr, probably not, but in this crazy world you never know. I am waiting for a new iteration of video games called video Xperiences where you garden in a video garden and the plants grow through animation and look just like real plants.😁

    Thank you for another very informative video. The location where I normally plant my pole beans has become a shadier spot over the years. I am going to give this a try with a few pots and position them for better exposure.

    Wow..I love this video. Easy to understand and full of great information. Just what I need as I am trying to grow pole beans now. I read that pole beans do not like to be repot or transfer because they will die. I didn't know this so I germinated them in cups. Should I restart new seeds in the containers now then? Thank you.

    • @harvestinghistoryllc3161
      @harvestinghistoryllc3161  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DT D You should be able to transplant them if there is 1 plant per cup. If you have to separate the plants, they may die.

    Hello. You didn't mention a potting mix recipe for beans. Shall I use the same one that you use for tomatoes and peppers, i.e., 60% topsoil, 20% compost and 20% peat moss? Thanks.

    This was VERY helpful thank you! How much do you water these plants and how often?

    • @harvestinghistoryllc3161
      @harvestinghistoryllc3161  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Erin, beans don't like to be overwatered. Water when the top half inch of soil is dry to the touch and soak the soil. Do not let the containers stand in water.
