@@OverTake_ggMichel, you could connect your alpha to PS4/5 by Sigma Cortex converter, but all equipment should be from simagic. It's working very nice.
Just got my R3 bundle for PC a couple weeks ago (still waiting for 3 items from them which is ridiculous) but none the less having a blast. I've gotten about 100 hours in with it so far and it's quite nice. Definitely frustrating at first learning it plus trying to find a good baseline setting to start from. Now I really just wish I got the R5 though if I'm honest. I've got 1000s of hours in over the years with a controller or some cheap wheel. And this has been the most fun I've had. Literally started on the Nintendo branded wheel/pedals on an N64 playing NASCAR 98/99? Crazy that I haven't invested in this sooner.

@13:30 good point about not setting the FFB to 100%, this often creates saturation and creates more noise than signal.
It appears that Moza company has introduced direct drive (DD) systems for less than $500, opening up the market for affordable options. It seems that only after the release of the Moza R5 bundle did other companies enter the sub-$500 market. Additionally, I appreciate Moza's such an elegant solutions, such as the Formula wheel mod for $50 and the LAN hub located on the base itself. In recognition of their consumer-centric approach, I decided to support them and ordered the R5 bundle.
Started with a T300, upgraded to a TS-PC racer because the T300 broke, this was before the CSL DD was announced. I'm still racing with that and still love it, when this one breaks, I will upgrade to a Direct Drive, not sure which one tho! 😋
As a console and pc player, I've started about 5 years ago with g29 (great wheel for beginners), in 2023 make an upgraded to t300 rs gt which was also great improvement over g29, but fastly decided to replace it for T-GT2. And despite many opinions that it is outdated etc, i've got to say that it is 100% perfect spot for me, enough torque and nice smoothness even if it is not dd wheel. Also i'm satisfied with the thrustmaster ecosystem especially that it is not too much expensive (shifter th8s is for about 60 usd and is really good and easy to made it sequential for rally driving using just some rubber;) in general, this is golden era for all simracing enthusiasts.
I recently started my sim racing journey and got the PXN V99 because it was less than $200 USD, I went with that because it was quiet, and the logitech G29 can be quite noisy, other videos has said the shifter clicks on the V99 are loud but I barely notice them when driving, and the force feedback is good on it, the pedals have some good resistance to them, but definitely will need to upgrade to load cell pedals in the future once i get better.
I bought my G29 new in 2024 for about €235, I don't regret it at all, nice steering wheel for ACC, FS, ETS2 and ATS. The only negative point is the red dial button, which doesn't really work very well. Of course I am looking at an upgrade, but I don't really know what to do for the PS5 yet
I'm from INDIA, bought a g29 at 5500 inr( approx 65 USD) new condition without pedals and adapter, will be using custom made diy pedal & different adapter. I think it's a great deal.
Im still rocking my DFGT but I still play a lot of older racing sims like NR2003 , GTR2, rfactor....etc All modded up . I think newest sim I have is DR 2.0 . Wheel still works fine. Even though I have a nice newer gamming PC rig I prefer to play the older sims they are just better to me in many ways.
I've got a DFGT as well for compatibility with older games. I believe Fanatec and Logitech can emulate an older wheel in their driver's. A GIMX adapter apparently allows new wheels from any manufacturer to be used with older games. I'm personally waiting to see the budget option from Asetek before I upgrade.
I started Simracing around 10 years ago as an 10 year old driving Race 07 with a Thrustmaster Wheel without FFB. Now I'm still driving with a Thrustmaster T150 RS Pro but probably want to upgrade soon to a Moza R3 or the T598. I'm currently driving a lot of GT7 but maybe want to go back to PC after I tried out the GT3s in LMU and the LFM support coming to AMS2 and Raceroom hopefully soon. Therefore a bit unsure which wheel I want to go with. Used Fanatec CSL Elite seem to be still a bit expensive considering their age und technique
I started out with the t248 myself was very loyal and caused no problems for five years. Then I made the decision to upgrade to a simagic alpha mini with a gt neo and gt1 Sr alcantara wheel paired with moza CRP pedals totaled about £1600 with taxes included.. But was the best decision I ever made, the difference is night and day and I'm so excited with assetto corsa evo just around the corner 😊
Yes! I feel like thrustmaster is a decent place to start, however if your looking to take things more seriously then you will have to upgrade at some point as thrustmaster definitely has it's limits 👍
Also my rig is custom built not from aluminium but from steel. My previous playseat I ended up putting my foot through the metal pedal plate through heavy braking 😂 this is when we purpose built a rig
I purchased a pxn v12 lite bundle based on your review and a couple of others. The wheel, base, and pedals were absolutely awesome. Unfortunately, it failed after about 2 weeks of weekend use. I was incredibly disappointed because I really enjoyed it. Fearing another failure, I replaced it with a moza r5 bundle before my 30 day return window was over. I do like the r5, but it doesn't feel as high of quality, especially the wheel and pedals. The moza has a bit better ffb, but overall, I preferred the pxn.
@OverTake_gg I did. We were not able to get the wheel to communicate with the base after troubleshooting. They recommend I exchange it for another, but I read multiple accounts of the same issue from others online. I'm still extremely sad about it as the pxn was very impressive for the price. Hopefully, with a few mods, I can get the r5 feeling more like the pxn did pedal and wheel wise.
First was a shity no ffbk wheel wich I played 1-2 times and never touched, second was Logitec Driving Force GT, then Logitec G27, Thrustmaster t500( love that wheel, still have it), and last Simagic Alpha. If you're sure is not a hobby for 10 min, go for something expensive and good!(Sure if you have the budget) And my first love was GTR2/GTL and then Assetto Corsa.
@ im running my t818 onps5 which is insane too. but im waiting for them to drop something. if not im alright the t818 is doing what it should do for the next 1-2years
Best recommendation for a good starter wheel that is compatible for both Xbox AND PS5? I love Forza/ Forza Horizon but I've gotten back into GT7 after grabbing a PSVR2 and would like something usable on both that's still in the decent starter wheel segment.
I only know of two wheelbase / wheel combos that can do that natively. Logitech Pro Racing Wheel (PC / PS version) with their new Wheel Hub (PC / Xbox version) and Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro combined with one their Xbox compatible wheels. Both not cheap unfortunately. -Michel
I've always loved racing. But at my late 20's I bought a G29. I love it but I would like to improve and chage it. I may go for a r12 because of price and performance. I am from Argentina, we have to import every device except Logitech ones. But they are too expensive here
If you only have that budget, yes, but as I said in the video, if you can save a bit more, make the jump to an R5 or even an R9 right away, its worth it. -Michel
Good video over all, but at the end of the day, it depents on a couple of factors how to pick a wheel. Most important, console or PC. You still are limited with the console and I can't blame the manufacurer for hasitating. Sony can be ridiculous with their license fees. Budget is allways on top. I started out with a t150 on PS4 just to see if it's even somesthing to get into. Well, it did and since then stuck with it. Back then it was a good joyce, but lots has changed and you have a lot more options these days. G29 was next then csl elite, dd pro and now moza. Yes, there was a lot of money spent over the years. My point, if you start out now a days, save your self the trouble and money by investing in something decent. You just have to be clear on a few things. Do I want just some fun after work or school for a bit or do you want to race? Do I want console or pc? If you can be clear about the two, you have it a lot easyer picking hardware. And one factor is very important, the best hardware doesn't make you a automaticly a good driver. There are people out there with minimal gear out driving most others. I'm just an averrage driver, but I enjoy the hobby and that's what counts. And last but not least, you got to find a SIM. Except for Race Room, I have done them all. And each handles different with the hardware. So, just saying get this or that hardware isn't realy that simple. Be sure of what you want to do and get some Informationen based on that. That is my opinion, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong😊
Have to say as a previous thurstmaster t80 owner please do not buy one a controller is a much better experience. I understand it’s an expensive hobby but please spend a little more and get something worthwhile. I went from the t80 to a used thrustmaster tmx I got off tag sale and that was great for starting out. Now on a moza r9 and loving it
I started SimRacing late last year. After a few hundred hours, I am starting to upgrade. I started with the Logitech G923 in a cheap folding Playseat, I have upgraded the playseat to a profile rig, just added a Moza handbrake for WRC, and I have Moza CRP2 pedals on the way. Undecided if I will get an R9 or R12, but will continue to use the Logitech wheel for a while as I put aside some money(and probably end up with an R16). I was very undecided if I wanted to dive in to simracing, but has been great spending evenings racing in ACC and WRC with people. I have a 4hr Spa event at th weekend, and new season starts in the ACC community next week, looking forward to getting better and faster in 2025.
Moza R12 Moza ES Lenkrad Moza SR-P P Loadcell Pedale Alles zusammen unter 800€ und viele Shops bieten diese Bundles Möglichkeit an. Eine bessere Preis/Leistung gibt es nicht am Markt.
I started with a G29 on my desk and now have a Moza R5 on a proper Sim Rig with all round sound.
really nice video. I defenetly share your opinion.
G25 to Moza R5 bundle. Best jump in technology ever.
Starter with thrustmaster T248 and now enjoying simagic alpha with GT neo and p1000 pedals highly recommend
Thats a great upgrade! Thanks for sharing that! -Michel

As a beginner G29 for a while, if you like it and decide sim racing is for you then get a direct drive.
