- “False in one, false in everything” is the legal dictum that trial attorney Mercedes Colwin says Trump attorney Todd Blanche asserted during Thursday’s cross-examination of former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen. Blanche got Cohen to admit that a key phone call that Cohen claims was him telling Trump about the payoff to Stormy Daniels was really Cohen complaining to Trump’s bodyguard about being the victim of crank calls by a 14-year old. One of Trump’s former lawyers, Bill Brennan, tells “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” the jury now has a clear choice about Cohen’s motivation: Was he out for political revenge?

Mercedes explanation only works if you assume that Trump was standing right next to the guy who answered the phone. That’s highly unlikely.

Even if the motive was 100% political, how is that a crime? If that’s then conversely, anytime a candidate makes a statement that turns out to be false is also guilty of the same thing.

I have not followed any of these court cases at all. What a mess. What an embarrassment. Can this nightmare be over already? Why did this even show up on my feed? I don't have time to follow these cases, nor care to indulge in this clown show. I did however take the time to comment, yes I did. Lol.

Big surprise! We are talking about a slimy lawyer, who is a convicted felon, and there are actually people out there that are surprised he has been caught in a bunch of lies? The prosecution is also relying on testimony of a porn star. Really disgraceful
She is not wrong. The prosecution will try and demonstrate how long 90 seconds is. I have to believe, though, Trump's attorneys have prepared for that.
The “preparation” by Trump’s attorneys will be to advise the jury to use common sense and to not act as if they were born yesterday. The texts from Cohen to the bodyguard complain about the 14 year old. Then the bodyguard texts Cohen , “Call me”. A 90-second call was then made. And THEN Cohen texts the bodyguard back with details about ….. the 14 year old. You can attempt to spin all sorts of absurd claims, including Cohen talking to the ghost of Abraham Lincoln. However , the fact remains that the entire text conversation, BEFORE AND AFTER the phone call was solely about the harassment by the 14 year old. The spin that Cohen squeezed in a conversation as important as informing Trump about such a weighty issue as an NDA, in between the silliness of the 14 year old, is utterly absurd in view of the evidence preserved in the text exchange. Cohen could have picked up the phone and called Trump DIRECTLY, at any time he pleased. The jury would need to be extremely gullible to believe the “I also talked to Trump” spin, after Cohen was caught red-handed, in his latest lie.
Wouldn’t it be epic if Trump has a hung jury but then Cohen goes back to jail for lying under oath. You could not write this story 🤣🤣

If the prosecution and cohen were above board, they would have said Cohen told trump he’d taken care of it WHILE he was talking to the bodyguard about the 14 year old. Not mentioning the “other” (only) reason for the phone call look’s duplicitous. An honest person would never have omitted that part of the story about the call

Have you ever practiced speeches or rehearsed certain projects that are timed. A minute and a half goes by in what feels like 10seconds, like the blink of an eye you can barely get anything out before 90seconds is up. No way this guy who loves to talk it up and loves to rage on people ever has enough time to cover both subjects in detail in one minute in a half.
