Y’all got your food etiquette wrong, it’s respectful to eat more at a person’s house because it shows that you enjoyed the food like where’d that come from or is it an American thing
late.. but yess- i’m nigerian and my mom always makes me eat more so that i can show the other person i appreciate the food and hours of hard work that went into it 😅
To the last story... I think its really disrespectful to eat like that. You can still enjoy your food without putting feets on tables/chairs or so. Like he isn't a child anymore and I can't really understand such behavior, its unacceptable.
No hate but childhood habits are hard to break and I would also get heartbroken if no one ate my food and if someone ate a lot that would make me feel decent. Again please don’t come after me! This is just my opinion
4:27 being Italian American, I honestly didn't pick up on that American custom... Despite being American, I always ate at Italian houses when I was younger. SO, everyone would look at me strangely until recently when I finally understood u don't eat a lot at ppls houses... I'm 18 now, but my reputation has already been tarnished. Whatever.
I literally didn't know this about American culture lol, Most cultures I'm familiar with consider it rude to NOT eat a lot and have multiple plates, especially during a holiday? I'm Dutch, and we're known to be conservative with food, serving only small portions or one cookie at a time. On the flipside we DO cook plenty and it's completely normal to ask for seconds. The cookie is in the jar to keep it fresh, not because you're not allowed to have it. This does explain a lot of awkward dinners and arguments with American work relations though, damn.
Advice for that therapy husband story please leave your husband because he just doesn't want to get a job and he wants to live of you and it's Red flag he is just want to play around and have fun and please leave him he doesn't deserve you deserve better
