It’s so good. To say the full kit is worth the $30 is a vast understatement. I use this over my EZ drums. I do hope they offer some groove libraries soon!
Really nice demo of the drums. Going to have to try this kit with your free Amped Roots which I have been a big fan of. If Mikko adds a free bass amp to the collection what a great starter set up for a beginner.
This sounds really good! So nice that’s there’s finally free drums that sound that good. And paying for these doesn’t seem to be that burdensome either.
What do you mean finally? There have been many free drum samples/plugins before this, not to mention this sounds a lot like one of the other free plugins, in the beginning I could swear I was hearing the same samples even.
@@DestoTrading finally meaning that there’s free drums that I really enjoy the sound of. I liked the old GGD demo kit, but hated that it was always on a timer. I just really like this plugin, and the paid version’s not that expensive, which is very exciting.
Sounds really good and is a great option for those looking for something pretty straightforward and at a great price point. Interested to see how it grows.
This is really cool. Nice to see something other than the already incredible MTPowerDrumKit2 available for freeware drums and the full price is super reasonable
I been using MTPDK2 for abt as long as I’ve been producing music. It gets the job done and it does it well in most applications, but man it might be time to expand the library w this plugin :)
I used to use MT all of the time but I had some issue with it and stopped using it. About three days ago I was helping a friend with some midi and of course he was using MT, it's still pretty great.
i couldnt get the mapping presets to work right with toontrack midi files in reaper they all were missing the high hats i tried each preset and none of them had the high hat
Sounds really good! I think it takes time to build solid drum software…as in it becomes exponentially better as more stuff is added/grown. Not an easy task with so many factors involved in drum styles and sounds. I am deeply invested in Toontrack, and Superior/EZ Drummer are just the bomb, to me. But I will keep an eye on this because I’m very impressed with how ML Sound Labs approaches everything they’ve done so far. I hope they take their time and emphasize quality over quantity - even if it’s little by little. That’s what would sell me on it.
Yes! Most DAWs should handle this pretty easily (you'll either need to select the VST instruments output in the instrument tab, or create additional aux channels and set the inputs to the plugin. Let me know which DAW you're running and I can help you get set up!
@@KaiDown thanks... I have studio one... It's just that I don't see assignable outs on the ML software for each drum... Where as has EZD has it right at the bottom. Anyways any help is appreciated. Thanks
@@TavaresProject Super easy on Studio One! Just open up the instruments tab in the bottom-left, hit the drop-down next to ML Drums, then enable all the outputs. They'll all be pre-named and pre-routed for you!
Good enough for demo sketching and song writing, not enough velocity layer and round robins though. Its role overlaps with GGD's one kit wonder packs quite a bit, but it does have an extensive selection of cymbals.
You got a hint of that sleep deprivation/jet lag weathered journeyman glowing "tour face" about you Fluff! Ha! How I miss those days. (sigh) Looks good on you dude. Seriously tho, I hope you guys are staying safe and well out there doing the good work of melting faces off amigo! Dang tho?! This plugin sounds freakin good! Like really good! Once again Mikko knocks it right out of the park! Totally gonna rip through this freebie on my e-kit over the weekend!! Dude, I just thought of something... Shooting a demo vid comprised of a track made exclusively with all the free ML Sound Labs plugins?! Could potentially be bad ass! Ha! Feeling a bit inspired by that now, wait... Nope, just gas... LMAO! 😅🙄🤔🤫
It sounds awesome. I got it the first day Mikko released it, and its great. But you have done it sound even much better tahn I could imagine. Could I ask you how many dBs do you compress with the API-2500?. Thank you very much for the video!!
Good question,i was thinking the same as you about where are the drum grooves?I played around with the stand alone version of ML Drums and i cannot find a way to load or play midi drum grooves even if you have to import them into ML Drums?
Not for the moment - there's talks about creating something a bit more unique to help users create drum tracks faster. Really there are lots of things we want to do with the platform.
Downloaded the free version and will get the paid version if it works for me 😊 Very refreshing to see a paid version costing less than 100 and having a free kit too to try. There’s not that many options at that price range and will be a bit more brand loyal to this if good - tried the free ik multimedia kit and the snare is hideous…
I'm clueless on this stuff. How do you program the drums into a song that sounds cool? I don't play drums. I've never played drums. I wouldn't really know what to play without trying to copy something someone else has done. And that would take a ton of trial and error.
Something that has helped me is programming drum covers of different songs. It will help you as a non-drummer to train your ear and get hands on experience with what the professionals would do, and you’ll pick up your own style along the way as you learn how a drummer thinks. Might be worth a shot. Hope this helps!
The free version is more of a demo as it won’t play the file I created, faithfully because it’s not a full set. If we were to talk about a truly free set, that would be donation ware, Power Drum Kit. I’d consider buying ML if it became comparable to PDK. The former has a good sound but lacks in features.
Multi-out specifically is one of the best features of ML Drums. :) So easy to just make more outputs and boom. Snares are always personal but we're really focusing on getting that natural ring in tune and not muted.
I'd love to spend money with them... But unfortunately...can't figure out how to get the fuckin "request key". Shouldn't be this difficult to buy a product.
@@KaiDown hey thank you for the reply. I did end up figuring it out lol. I'm such a noob when it comes to this stuff. Lol. Again thank you and I appreciate the help.

Killer demo song, wow!

PS
I use your ML Amp frequently!
Solid!!
The mechanical sound that significantly older drum libraries had is a thing of the past, the bar is now raised.
That is some top level riffery Good Sir!
I love starclassic performers. I have 8 of the bb shells in white oyster. The demo sounds good.. cool riff.. that guitar tone is pretty fire 🔥
Awesome! I didn't know I could use the API2500 on drums, great tip 👍
this interface looks really similar to the recently shelved audio assault drum vsts which are no longer available

True. I've used MTPowerDrumKit2 to death. Still love it to get things done quickly.

You should do a review on Glennnnn’s drum software from Spectre Digital.
