- For having waterproof properties in your wet room or bathroom its best to apply the tanking method. All you need is waterproof joint tape and any best brand liquid membrane. I will show you how i got this wet room tanked up ready to be tiled.

Good job bro keep the videos coming 👌
Lovely job!
Good job😊
Just done my bathroom. Make sure to watch out for bumps or raised bits as it is hard to tile on when the wall is uneven
Brilliant
Great video! So you don't really need moisture boards then once you take this step then Bro??
No not really as you've tanked up the plasterboard creating a waterproof barrier. Other option is to use which i wish i knew before but expensive is to install tile backer boards it has insulation properties and waterproof. And another option is to use ThermalDry Paint.
Joint between walls and floor?
Yes waterproof tape needs to be apllied there
Does anyone know if you apply the tape while the paste is still wet or wait for it to dry first?
Wet under and over
Hi can I apply the tape too the shower tray edge then up the wall???
you can apply this waterproof tape in all gaps and corners etc before applying the Aqua Defense, after installation of shower trays need use a silicone waterproof sealant.
@@ZRKREVIEWS thank you))
So skimming is not necessary or can you skim the plasterbord and then tank?
Yes skimming not necessary, you can fill up all holes and gaps then tank it. Then you can tile or use wall panels
@@ZRKREVIEWS thank you. Very informative and helpful
Hi, where did you get waterproof tape? Will normal skrim tape work
Ebay, Amazon
No, not in a shower area.
Is tanking needed behind pvc panel boards?
Normally around the shower area i would recommend
No tape floor to wall very bad I think your using that as the waste there is big gaps
What about the edges at the bottom?
yes tape them up and tank it, shouldn't be any gaps.
Should have used wediboard, normal plasterboard will always fail.
Backer board should have been used
Yes but at that point did not knew then also knew it costs were high, but the plasterboard has insulation, tanking was applied
Dude you don’t have to do all of this 🤣 I mean it’ll never leak but it’s an overkill. You only need to cover the actual shower area
But there's no harm in it...what you're saying is right also but he did it for safety.
Please don't follow this guys instructions. There is just so much wrong with this job, it will leak and fail and have to be completely ripped out and redone properly in a very short period of time.
Hi what's wrong with the logic in this tanking system?
Can you please justify..this task was authorised by Mapei and prominent builders. 2yrs on Wetroom is looking lit, check out my other videos😊
@@ZRKREVIEWS s this upstairs on downstairs? could I do this upstairs and expect a good waterproof system
