I am 100% buying this radio soley for its size and compactness since I get a lot of time off being at different airports and want to fly my whoop without having to carry my massive tx-16s
Awesome review, Kevin! Thanks! 😃 The big belly thing is real... I'm just not sure if it's because of aging or the beer. Or perhaps something else. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Its super bad ass. my only complaint is wishing it had the 5-6 mode buttons like my TX16s. Those are nice to set up for vid channels or power level among other options.
this is definitely the best review I've seen on the pocket so far for actually useful information. Talking about gimbal feel is nice, its hard to find people who actually say these things. I'm thinking about upgrading from my t pro, because my gimbals aren't really that great, but ive got a bit more to think about. the t pro has a similar switch layout, but it has the 2 pos and momentary switches opposite to the pocket, so i have a 2 pos for arming in a 'better' spot than the pocket. apart from that, my t pro does have a 1w internal, but i dont really use it that often anyway
You suggested you’d use it as your travel radio. Switching from x lite to boxer took me a couple weeks to feel comfortable flying again. Muscle memory is massively important. Would you really switch between full-size and mini gimbals like that? Is the switch easier when you’ve done it a couple times or?
Hi ! Do you think the pocket radio has enough switch to fly a atomrc wing with Inav ? I like the size factor. Or should I buy a Zorro radio or Boxer ? I am currently a Rc airplane pilot on Spektrum😉. Thanks
Break it down for me bro. How good is 1 watt or more on elrs for long rang. All I see is videos saying you don’t need it. I have a boxer with a ranger micro module.
As a beginner, I've been looking at the Tx12 MK II (ELRS) for FPV drones before the new Pocket came out. Which one might be better, or can you do a comparison between it as well as the Boxer?
Same situation, I had the TX12 in my shopping cart for a while, once I saw the Pocket it was a no-brainer, just ordered it to replace my (real beginner entry and basic) T8 Lite.
hey stingy dont 4get to include the most important part of testing the pocket radio....behind the back testing... this should be included in all your new radio reviews haha!!! i keep a few guys upset by flyin "behind the back"......tears up they nerves! looks like a sweet lil radio by the way!
Dude, the 1W nano ranger module is only $40!! I still have a bunch of flysky stuff that I use but the 4 in 1 version of this radio is cheaper and the nano ranger module is also cheaper than the external 4 in 1 module so I think it makes more sense to buy the cheaper cc2500 version of this radio with the nano ranger module
"the gear you use doesn't make the pilot" I was using a betafpv LiteRadio with a malfunctioning throttle gimbal that I didn't even realize for months....and I flew like shit. lol That shit cost me a lot of time and $. Now I have a tango 2 and I fly slightly less shit. lol Get some good gear seriously you'll save yourself a lot of frustration.
those Betafpv radios keep on dropping gimbal. it turns into a switch after about an hours worth of use. My son beat one to death after changing the gimbal 3 times
@@doccock100 Mine like was intermittent, it would like throw incorrect values, especially towards maximum throttle it would bounce and never reach 100% I finally plugged into a sim one day and noticed it setting up the controller or I would have probably never been able to figure out what was going on exactly.
@@maddercat I never thought I was a gimbal snob. I flew about 300h on flight sims with my DJI V1 black controller and when I swapped to AG01's on a TX16s I knocked all my personal best times on the first attempt. From average times to some number 1 spots on 6inch DRL (not too competitive on 6inch times as it is on 7). If youve flown for a while I really would advise treating yourself.
Great to see and hear your posting new vids stay flying. Cheers
Great review man. I wish this thing came out a few years ago, I'd probably have a few less radios 😆
You must have at least one go to radio and 3-7 spares..lol
Best breakdown of the Pocket on TH-cam. Well done.

Same here, this radio replaced my TX16s Max, far easier to transport and it just feels nicer for my thumbing control style
Awesome review, Kevin! Thanks! 😃

Cool review on the pocket radio... Sent it to a buddy getting back into FPV and he's buying one cause of your review. Your reviews are good...
Whats the resolution measured in the analogs of EdgeTX?
Whoops I just ordered the Zorro yesterday lol. Looks like a sweet radio for the price. Thanks for the review
HI STINGY ALWAYS NICE TO SEE U HERE ❤❤❤
Great Vid. Has the ELRS version no cc2500 protocols?
Y'all got any more of that hops and props? Nice to see the content still coming Kevin.
i dont know how this radio took so long to come out. Super small form factor radio that checks 90% of the boxes for fixed wing and 99% for quads.
Its super bad ass. my only complaint is wishing it had the 5-6 mode buttons like my TX16s. Those are nice to set up for vid channels or power level among other options.
Radiomaster, please make a carbon fiber version ❤
How could we hate Stingy. 👍🏼
tell yourself that he was a cop

Can you make a quick video on how you aet up your two switch arming in EdgeTX and not Betaflight please?

How can I mod my boxers antenna like that?
Cool video Kevin🤘🏻

Sting for the win !!! Do you think it's possible to have a folding antenna on the Boxer ? I would like to have the Pocket antenna on my Boxer 😇
Im very interested on that 1W internal TX mod, if you figure it out to do it please let us know with a video l..l,
Im going with the pink for sure!🤩
Considering you mained the tango 2, not too surprising!
Kinda like a cross between the tango zorro and boxer.
@stingy could you please grab a jumper t20? There are no English reviews
Nice Kev not bad for the price$ what is the weight on it ? Like some where around 380g or so?
I found your vid helpful. Though, I ordered my Pocket before I saw U ( :)) - takeCare, greets from Denmark

that folding pocket antenna can fi the boxxer with a mod

Yeah I was about to say the nanoranger is what in getting for mine! Finally replacing my old OG 10 year old DX8 lol
My son loves his!
"Stingy! look down the name is right there!" haha.
The way you said it don't hate me. We don't hate you😊
I switched to the Original Tango from a TX16S 4 Months ago xd
2:46 Hehe...spotted a curious kid.
Tell us about your analogue mod on side of goggle…. Please
Don’t forget the Jumper T-lite people…….. elrs 250mw ago1 fit easily. Good old switches
So true... 250mw covers most peoples needs and the AG01 mini with a bit of a mod makes for a compelling little radio. It has my vote.
FYI Jumper T-lite elrs is only 100mw, even the v2, so you basically need a module to use it outside.
@@markitzero7408 100mw if locked to ce mode.
250mw if not
@@gmivisualsjason3729 Maybe your thinking of the packet rate, The usable ELRS power output levels are 25mw,50mw, and 100mw on the T-lite.

I spent more than that on my PS4 controller lol
