I edit for a living. But I do none of it for youtubers. Anyone reading this, look into editing for business in your area. To be honest, its where the money is. Because you know these businesses have the money to spend, whereas a youtuber might be doing it on the side. There are people in your area that are shooting ads and social media videos for local businesses that need editors. I know that youtube editing might be more fun but there are plenty of people who want cool videos for their business. I know this video isn't really about what I'm talking about but don't just shut yourself off to doing "none youtube" editing.
@@Toma-621 I think for that you will also have to be a videographer or at least connect with a videographer but most of the local videographers edits their own videos…
Hey Fin. Found your channel and binge watched through my Christmas break. I work a 9 to 5 in a job I hate without any purpose in the 40 years of my life so far. I will be learning editing outside of my working hours and family life, and I hope in 3 or so years I'll be able to switch careers. I've opened this TH-cam to document my journey. Next week I'll be buying a second hand PC which will run editing software and away I will go. I'll come back to this comment in 3 years time with an update. Good luck new and old editors. I hope you all get as much work as you require to live a happy life. Fin, thank you for making videos which may have changed the trajectory of my life.
He once talked about the book 'Forbidden Laws of Wealth' by Victor Hayes and can’t believe how underrated it is. This book has some serious knowledge you won't find anywhere, definitely deserves more attention!
Back when I still do some edits, I always think editing is like making a story board that change your raw video into coherent story with plots. Editing is easy but making an edit that coherent and make sense is difficult
I remember this guy, he had like 50k subs, while I was searching for gaming edits, this channel pops up to me, and of course I learned alot from him, because of him I learned how to edit simple videos and pop up subtitles with smooth transitions, even though I use cracked PR cuz I don't have funds to pay. At that time, I knew he has a potential, his edits are top tier. You deserve a TON of subs Fin, and also thank you for motivating me to edit videos.
This video is a game-changer! So much helpful information packed into one clip. I personally don't like promoting anything in comments, but I simply have to share with you a book called The Gilded Nexus of Prosperity, that book changed my approach to money, the methods in that book are impressive
I'm so glad you made this video, Fin. All the chatter about oversaturated markets, AI taking over editing - it's made me nervous about attempting to get into this field in a committed way. But I'm giving it my all. You're a big reason why I've kept pushing myself the past couple of years.
I'm currently serving out 3 months notice at my job ready to figure out what to do next. This video has come at a perfect time for me. I've been a fan for years - thank you Fin.
Thanks man you helped me alot i wasnt very good but seeing the ideas you have made me a really good editor and get better each day and i have been working with famous youtubers and making money in the process.
This video came out at the perfect time. I just got my first real editing job, and I was struggling. You inspired me to become an editor so Thanks finzar.
Great video! I really appreciate all the tips. 😄 I agree with having a good intro reel or just putting out an edit something in general. I started out as a streamer who edited my own shorts to post on my other socials so I can grow my audience. Now I edit for other streamers because they liked my editing style. It feels good to know there's a market out there for people who edit like me.
As a freelance video editor, thankyou finzar for being THE GOAT!!!! Literally so much help and practically kickstarted my career editing with them tutorials!!
I love editing.....for my own personal use. I have thought about working for someone else, but this video gave me an idea of how to get started if I wanted to work for other TH-cam channels. I hope to make this a job other than a hobby in the future.
The best way to learn to edit is to throw yourself into it. I have been editing a lot for the past year, and I have gotten a lot better. I still have a lot to learn though. It just takes lots of practice.
I've taken a class last semester that covered 5 different Adobe programs. Since I've started dedicating a month for every program. I'm going over Illustrator now.
Finzar would love to hear your opinion about the MrBeast style of editing (tons of cuts, tons of stimulation for retention etc) as this seems to also be on the rise
Hello there just a message of appreciation, I am glad i came across your channel, I had honestly left editing after just trying it for few years, but then long story short, i was hospitalised for 4 months and was gonna have a body part amputated but i pulled through i started watching your videos in my hospital bed, which made me gain my editing spark again, i am really grateful for your content finzar, also i want to be a patreon for you but my country does not allow me to have like recurring payments so i cant, is there any other way i can support you?. ofc in a small way cause i am still a beginner, but then again glad for all you have done, thank you.
The sets, the comedy, the scenes, the real life examples, SO WELL DONE FIN. Banger as usual. I will also add guys DO NOT UNDER CHARGE as an editor. There is a crisis of editors undercharging. Make sure you are making no less than 20-30USD per hour of your time bois
Excellent advice! But I think the real takeaway here is to become a good enough editor that you can sell courses and earn passive income. Do what Finzar says, but also do what Finzar does. Solid vid! Always love it when a new one comes out!
If you are reading this, I hope that your channel grows in 2025! I just created my first TH-cam channel and I know the feeling but I will embrace the journey! Don't give up.

Hello brother, I only want to ask you one question, I installed premiere pro but there are lot of errors which can't be fixed, i even posted about them in their official forum but no help. The biggest is i cant afford a 1920x1080 monitor rn and thats why i learnt editing in the first place and my laptop has lower resolution and the ui scaling is really big on pp. Can you please help me? Also, I have tried every optimization for my low end pc but nothing works, and when i do any edit, pp goes not responding, also the morph cut transition is always stuck on analyzing. *I cant afford a good pc rn brother, please help me, ASAP*

How exactly would you recommend looking into that? Just on Linkedin?
How do you go about finding clients in your area?
