I was lucky enough to be at this Show. Still the Best Festival of Metal ive been too. Priest killed was the best that day. Wish usa would have more bigger Festivals. It was a crazy day.
I was 12 years old living in Orange Park, FLA listening to the US Festival on my tiny am/fm clock radio around 10:00 pm back in May 1983.. Feeling like I was missing out on life. Waiting for Van Halen to come on, VH was everything to a young man circa 1983. But as I have gotten older this version of Judas Priest Victim of Changes is what metal was all about circa '83. Priest in there prime.
Rich how are you today? My condolences to you and your family , On Feb 2 of this year I lost my 34 year old son due to an aneurysm.. I had just hugged him 2 hour prior to walking in from gym at 7:00 am .. it’s the worst thing i’ve ever had to deal with… Jared and Matt are in Heaven with the greats Rockin
Memorial Day weekend, 35 years ago. I had just graduated from High School and to celebrate, my friends and I went to see our hero's perform on "Heavy Metal Sunday" at the US Festival. It was about 105F degrees out and we were 15 feet from the stage, center. The lineup was; Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osborne, Triumph, Scorpions and Van Halen. It was a day I will never forget! Thank's for the flashback.
I dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know of a way to log back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost the password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Benicio Kai I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Screaming For Vengeance/Number Of The Beast. Saw them in September '82 (don't remember the exact date) at Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo MI. From what I understand, Iron Maiden had played various dates in the US prior to this, but hadn't actually done a proper US tour until the tour with JP
sopwithsnoopy The first time I saw Priest was on their Defenders of the Faith tour and a band called Kick Axe opened for them. Not nearly as cool as what you saw. My coolest concert was a New Year’s Eve concert in Phoenix called New Years Evil with Pantera, Slayer, Megadeth and was headlined by Black Sabbath. Awesome!🤘🏻
Hey guys good job. Just had to comment about what you said about what it is that Judas Priest has that makes you go wow that's it and gives you that balance. I truly believe Rob in particular just has a gift from God and his music is literally anointed. I saw them in '83 or '84 and it was just the best concert I've ever been to.
Some of the best live metal vids with 50,000 people going bonkers: Limp Bizkit Break Stuff Hellfest 2015; Rob Zombie Demonoid Phenomenon official video Slipknot Knebworth concert last song ( I forget the name). Though these may be songs that Kels parents were warning her against, but it's just metal being enjoyed the way it was intended.
Truly a golden moment in their career....what Donington solidified for Priest in the UK back in '80, this show did for them in '83 in the States. When you're that big to be in front of 300,000+ doing almost a whole set, you've made an impact that won't go away anytime soon!
1990 the pain killer tour in Toronto the version of victim of changes is on the best vocal and showmanships Halfords has ever done saying a lot for his crazy voice
Having seen Priest several times in concert, the first of which was way back in July 1980 (5th row seats!), I can honestly say there's no such thing as a bad Judas Priest concert. In fact, JP sounds truer to their album versions than any other band. Always entertaining!! And this song is always one of the highlights of every concert I've seen of them!
Kel summed it up beautifully. There is a difference between just hearing music and actually really listening. And yes, these are gifts in life, indeed.
totally agree ...nothing worse than trying to have some one listen to metal song and all they do is play with their phones (no attention span) and you ask if they listening and with out looking up and still typing they say yes...Their not listening, they are hearing but not listening....Drives me nuts.....then they have nerve to say nope don't like it, it is to loud and can't understand them and all you can do is roll your eyes as they put on the mind numbing music of today....yep no attention span rather listen to computer generated song with max 3 chords on loop and basic drum beat and lyrical content that involves again a dozern words repeated over and over...with no imagination or inspiration to be found.....METAL IN THE BLOOD!
Love your comments. Thank you both. I think Rob had a very traumatic childhood. In his case, he was able to deal with his life through his musical creativity. In music, as in any art, there is a purging which can take place when that energy is expressed. Halford and his band are masters at their craft and Rob is one of those earthly singing angels, who has truly reached god-like status as a human being. Truth!!!
Whenever I am in a dark place Metal helps lift the veil. PTSD sucks. Qld Police Sergeant 43 years on the job and counting (retire at 60 here in OZ) Love your show. Brett M
Kel-n-Rich, I have friends who love metal but never really listened to Priest and I tell them that they are missing out on some the best metal ever...please do more of them, thanx.
You just took me back 37 years. The 2nd concert I ever saw was Judas Priest on the Screaming for Vengeance tour in 82. This would have been the same tour. They are just freakin awesome. Y'all keep up the good work!
My good buddy who's 10 years older was fortunate enough to be at this Festival. He told me he had two 5 gallon jugs full of water that he brought to the show and he made 300 bucks from selling the water because there wasnt too much out there. Said that Priest was the highlight for him.
Great reaction... a very very kick-ass band to listen too... this was one of my fave songs as well... like The Ripper, Can't wait for your next reaction they are truly genuine and I am happy you share with us listeners, I am a fan..new but a fan. Blessed Be.
I know I mentioned this before, but I really like the Unleashed In The East version of Victim Of Changes, though I don't believe there is any video footage. In fact, the original recordings have been modified after some corruption, so it was re-created in studio, in part. That being said, I would also check out the studio version of #JudasPriest - Blood Red Skies
Having first seen Priest in 1980 on the British Steel tour with a certain Iron Maiden supporting them, it didn't take long for them to become one of my all time favourite bands. If you want more #JudasPriest #Sinner and #Genocide, both from the #UnleashedintheEast album!!
I was there that day in 1983. Judas Priest kicked @ss. That festival was held at an Glen Hellen Regional park that was considered to be out in the middle of the nowhere desert back in those days. It is probably all built up with houses and strip malls by now. I use to spend a lot of time there dirt biking, camping, and drinking beer around the camp fire. When I showed up, and saw how they transformed it into a giant music festival I was amazed.
True Love with a soulmate heals all. Even music can never have it's impact. But .... when you pair the two together, as you guys have, man ..... life begins. The crazy part is when music is created WITH love, that elevates you even more. As this does, the human element, the story it tells, the intensity it is performed with, IS LOVE.
Yes! Not only was I there that day at the US Festival to witness this performance but this was in the city I was born in...San Berdoo! Thanks for doing this one!
Like you channel. I like to recommed 3 different songs from motörhead birthday concert from 1985 London Hammersmith . Mean Machine, Bomber and motörhead. One of their best lives if you ask me. Songs keep on rolling like iron locomotive and also have a great energy. You should try those songs..stay metal and much love from metal capitol of the world, Finland \m/
Was lucky enough to see the Priest in Tacoma last April. My girlfriend hadn't seen them before and she couldn't believe Halfords Screams. She looked back at me like Holyshit what just happened. His scream was so loud that my ears clipped. That's never happened to me and I've been to at least 100 or more metal shows. The best song for her was Painkiller. Me I loved that they brought out Saints in Hell for the first time since 1977.
Interesting reveal Kel….and I think any musician would tell you....it pays to listen and know what you're doing and do it well...but if you're not having fun with it....it shows...but when you ARE having fun with it also?? It REALLY shows!!
300,000 metal heads were at the US Festival on metal day with Judas Priest, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Triumph, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue and Scorpions! Just so you know, it's not the U.S. Fest, it's the US Fest as in "You and I".
Kel & Rich, I heard what you had to say about the darkness and how each and everyone of us must push on through to the other side. It isn't the destination that makes who we are; but the journey in which we arrive there. I have found that mankind is unique in that we are the only animals on this planet that has an understanding that we can achieve our full potential when we learn to harness our inner power, our creativeness. A singer sings, a poet dreams, a word smith writes, and a musician plays; all of which is one pathway to our inner creativeness, our souls, our pathway towards our full potential. By watching Kel's reaction for the first time listening to various forms of music reminds us of ourselves when we too heard for the first time these various forms of music. Knowing what Kel has discovered for herself reminds us of the path on which we are traveling upon and that there is still hope for us yet as we continue on our pathway towards enlightenment, which we owe you both a debt of gratitude and Love.
I just saw Judas Priest a couple days ago and I have to say it is the best concert that I ever been to. I recommend you two see them if they come to your town
Hi and greetings from Finland, home country of Nightwish :-) Actually guys, the best version of Victim of Changes performed live comes from the Live Vengeance 1982 dvd. Also, Desert Plains is just awesome and Rob's voice is in top form. You should definitely do those both from the same dvd. Cheers and all the best for both of you.
I've seen them live in Manchester, England a few years back and they were amazing. When they played The Hellion followed by Electric Eye (They're both connected, 1st leads into the 2nd song), I was pumping my load out because they're my favourites songs and also it was a fucking amazing performance. I cant remember much from that night but I remember them playing them songs and also painkiller. I'm really glad I got to see them live because they're in my top 5 of favourite bands.
If you haven't listened or reacted to #Judas Priest Beyond the Realms of Death (studio version) it is a definite MUST! I was in high school when it came out. It is to this day, mind blowing! It's like a melancholic feel, because the song is about venturing into suicide (a touchy subject) but JP pull out all the stops and create a blazing collage of molten metal. Not to mention the incredible lead guitar. Whew!
Bow down to the mighty Priest! So glad for you two, that you got to experience Priest live. It's so great! Still pleading for... #Insomnium : The River - lyrical video, or Lay of the Autumn - lyrical video, or both of them! 😎
Kel- at 27:24 you summed it up with one complete thought. "This music makes me feel like when I'm with you." Music to me is a point in time, a feeling whether good or bad. Music is an emotion of ecstasy, of love, of anger or even hatred. If you have an open mind your heart will follow. Love watching you guys. I saw Slayer open for Judas Priest in 1986. Mind blown
Kick-ass video and an absolutely fantastic reaction as always, but also a very big thank you to the German public-service television broadcaster ZDF, who provided us with a lot of awesome metal shows.
emotion and music are inexplicably tied together, it is something that comes from our history, from sitting around the fire hitting stumps to the modern day music, it invokes emotion and a inborn need to experience emotion with a group of strangers. that is what it is about.
These guys are and always will be so amazing.... Love this stuff, and so great you guys are introducing people to the classics like this that maybe have never heard it before, but this is stuff you HAVE to listen to as a metalhead, andd just an appreciator of great music.... Great job as always, love you guys!!!
Top of the morning to you all.....thanks Kel n Rich for the 2 00 prequel to the Folgers sequel....Sad wings of Destiny and java...all good to the last drop
Wow loved it! So glad you did this one! Keep em coming! You guys must do Freewheel Burning from Dortmund live or off the album Defenders of the Faith, just a adrenaline rush !
Hi you two . This is my favorite song of this fanstastic concert.
Thanks for your lovely reactions listening this song.
Judas priest forever.😎🎸
One of the best live shows ever Rob Halford is Legend and so is Glen Tipton

I was also there for that amazing day my Heavy Metal brothers!

@John Duval, Priest/Maiden 1980 UK sounds about right. I saw them then, back in the mists of time!
Man I wish...I'm 26 but only listen to 80s stuff for the most part
My two favorites bands😍
One of the finest metal songs of all time by one of the finest metal bands of all time. Long live the Priest!
The man who made operatic screaming the mainstream in 70's/80's
Hey guys good job. Just had to comment about what you said about what it is that Judas Priest has that makes you go wow that's it and gives you that balance. You guys are awesome! Thanks for the dose of the greatest metal band ever. You guys rock 🎸
wow, thank you for sharing. This song makes me feel that too.
Thanks for doing a reaction video from the US Festival. Priest played a historic set that day
The head bangin' is just natural on this one.
Without a doubt the best live band ever. They are an experience.
Love you guys. Your Pure love for each other is palpable. Much love from Montreal
Hello again. I LOVE METAL!!! Especially when hanging out with 80,000 other metal maniacs.
Some of the best live metal vids with 50,000 people going bonkers:
Limp Bizkit Break Stuff Hellfest 2015;
Rob Zombie Demonoid Phenomenon official video
Slipknot Knebworth concert last song ( I forget the name).
Though these may be songs that Kels parents were warning her against, but it's just metal being enjoyed the way it was intended.
There were 670.000 people there. What a crowd!

Good to see two happy people exploring and appreciating great music. Keep it up guys... your fan base is growing as you continue your musical journey.
I love the 83'US FESTIVAL. I WATCHED IT IN IT'S ENTIRETY. Priest was the best, hands down!!
Excellent review yall.

The Metal Gods!!! I played in a Priest tribute and loved every minute of it!!
Fun songs to play! I was in a few metal bands that covered some Priest.💽🎸🎵☮
That must be the worst work in the world for your singer...
Love your comments. Thank you both. I think Rob had a very traumatic childhood. In his case, he was able to deal with his life through his musical creativity. Kel-n-Rich, I have friends who love metal but never really listened to Priest and I tell them that they are missing out on some the best metal ever...please do more of them, thanx.
Thank you so much for appreciating us, appreciating you, appreciating great music!
There's enough metal on that stage to build an entire armored division.
Rich you definitely loved that. I could see the pride in your face.
You just took me back 37 years. The 2nd concert I ever saw was Judas Priest on the Screaming for Vengeance tour in 82. This would have been the same tour. They are just freakin awesome. Y'all keep up the good work!

I like live for vengeance version
Imagine being on that drum kit up on top of the Marshals, overlooking the whole event.
My Favourite Judas Priest Live Song! Thanks!

Absolute MASTERPIECE!!!!
Dave Holland was a beast on drums.
You need to watch live at the Seminole Hard Rock Arena 2009 best version o Victim of Changes 🔥🔥🔥
My god yes. Rob can still sing this, even better than in the 80s, and KK's solo looks like he's possessed.
R Langer best version I ever seen 🤘🤘
Priest at their finest!
True classic. loved these guys since 1980.
Accept/Def Leppard/Judas Priest 1981. My first ever concert.

the best version of victim of changes is on Unleashed in the East
Absolutely agree!!!! Most of the songs on that live album Unleashed in the East) are the best versions of the respective songs.
@@gigmond hell yeah. Sinner, Tyrant, The Ripper...Diamonds and Rust is epic on that album
Les Binks was the better drummer for this song
Like you channel. I like to recommed 3 different songs from motörhead birthday concert from 1985 London Hammersmith . Mean Machine, Bomber and motörhead. One of their best lives if you ask me. Their whole US Festival Set was great.
Over 300,000 people. The hotel we stayed in night before was 90% all going to the Concert next day. Say it was a Party is putting it lightly.
I spent the night before in line at the festival grounds. It was crazy! Scorpions were awesome too.

The US (not U.S., but us) Festival was one of the largest ever to that point. It was massive. 300k? Something like that. Insane.
Love the channel. Keep it up! I saw JP live at Joe Louis Arena the year following this back in June of 1984. What a great show they put on!
I listened to this festival on Kmet back in so.cal live
