    I used Carbonmade for my very first website! I agree being present online is a huge factor. LinkedIn is also a great place to post art nowadays as well

      Oh that's awesome! It's a really cool site, love how it's so easy to use. Yeah, in this digital world we spend so much of our lives on, it's almost like you don't exist if you don't have some sort of online presence, ha ha. You're right, I should have mentioned LinkedIn. I actually meant to and forgot. I've seen a lot of people get really good opportunities there.

    I was just searching "How to get more clients", you've read my mind. I Would like to add, send email messages to people you would like to work with, sometimes they write back and are actually really friendly, like you said! Network - it's good for you!

    Nope, I'm here for that sharp "S" sound ;-) witty remarks, and that really sexy accent haha. Being creepy aside, awesome vid Robyn , 'cept for that "networking" part..If you're good and have a pretty decent portfolio YOU DON'T NEED IT .. I prefer to find and work on gigs on my own, people just drags you down , in this industry there's a lot of these assholes! Now back to work..I have 16 more episodes to animate out of 26 from a client in which I'm the only animator, cuz I like it like that lol..Byeeeeeeeeeeee! oh by the way..what's with the background dude? It makes your channel look like those "personality development" channels haha.

    • @RobynO_O

      whaaat, I didn't realise I had a sharp "s" sound. Luckily I'm getting a new mic soon, hopefully that will help. I feel you on not necessarily needing networking to get work but it does definitely help. If you already have more than enough work that's great. Sounds like you do! But there are some who do struggle to find work, sometimes there are dry spells. And for them, networking will help. And my background - I moved and this is in my new office. I love the walls, they make me really happy 😅

      @@RobynO_O You both have a point. But Robyn, no amount of networking can land you a job if you suck at what you do..there are demo reels and initial animation tests that most studios require. And if you're not cut out for it then having a huge network won't help one bit.At the end of the day it's all about skills , so focus on that and you won't be out of gigs.except when it's dry spell season..Networking helps animators find a job..but landing it is an entirely different story 😉..Just subscribed by the way...pretty cool channel for us animators / artist.

      @@jervinmarco6891 for sure, I definitely didn't intend for it to come across as me saying that if your work is bad, you can just network and get a job. I thought it would go without saying that if your work is bad, it'll be much harder to find jobs. But I know a lot of animators who landed jobs through networking, because somebody needed an animator and thought, hey, before I post this job online, I'm gonna ask this guy I know if he's interested, because I know him and I know he does good work. And that's from networking. It's happened to me, and tons of people I know. Knowing people helps in most industries.

    • @jervinmarco6891
      @jervinmarco6891 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RobynO_O But it came across that way dear. And most artists are oblivious about the skill part..they just send CV's away like a maniac without self evaluation first. Most think they're that good. I've been a director for some tv series ..and I get a ton of applications from animators who lack talent if you may. People network and send Cv's like candies without being honest about themselves that they are not ready yet. Oh and "knowing people" is one of the curse of this industry..a lot of really talented animators never gets the job just cuz they don't have the right connections , and if you're gonna tell me "well that's where networking comes in you idiot" don't you think it's kinda sketchy?..c'mon Robyn 😁
