I would recommend making a list of plug-ins without the renderers. Most plug-ins can be combined with any renderer in Max. Render engines are such a different and fundamental thing I would consider it as a separate category.

@@mazenezou Even if they just updated some of their existing stuff ... CAT could be amazing but is still riddled with bugs after all these years ... Cloth modifier is an absolutely amazing soft body simulator (after you spend months and months figuring it out) but has the least user friendly interface imaginable, and calculates on one CPU thread. Hello autodesk - Its 2020, HEDT and server CPUS have up to 64 cores and even desktop up to 16 ... this is not acceptable! Or recode it for GPU or something ...
The guy who made Tyflow was motivated by the sheer lack of updates and optimizations for the built in particle simulator - which is good, it just sucks because they don't ever optimize or update anything. At least Tyflow is still free.

@@mazenezou Yeah, If they could give even half the attention to Max that blender gets, It wouldn't be losing users they way it is. And to think that Blender is free ... and Max is one of the more expensive suites out there. Its disappointing. I still love Max, but its getting harder to all the time.

I will say goodbye to 3dsMax in a near future. 2k bucks in a year. I do not have a resorces that will never came back to me as a simple freelancer, but for a license production I will pick Maya because of finalazing in there after exporting to UE4. And other main tools I will use for a production gonna be Blender and Gimp just because they are free and for me as an indie developer its will be an unreal money saver for a licensing. I do not like plugins anywhere mostly on the main engine, I would say they may be good, but defenitely there is much cheaper alternative
