Seriously, every time I see a Tom Hiddleston interview, he somehow manages to baffle me every single time by how smart he is.
Imagine remembering the lyrics to a song in a foreign tongue you don't actually speak AND remembering what it all means on top - 1.5-2 years after filming the scene.

He speaks English (his native tongue) and he is pretty conversant in French and Spanish. And I can tell you this as a Greek who speaks and has degrees in french, English and has just started out Spanish lessons.

Norwegian here: I think it's kinda icky how the Thor movies/comics adopted our culture in such a cartoony way.
But I feel like the loki series respects us more as a culture, and they gives us these little tributes to show effort and respect towards our culture.
The way tom sang the lyrics is very in tune with how old norse folkmusic sounds like, the inflections of the voice, the instruments, and ofc the nice norwegian lyrics about wandering alone in the mountains, missing a friend

My cousin is a preschool teacher and she's explained Loki to her students and once they know he's Thor's brother but no one ever told him he was adopted and how Thor is the favorite and that's why he's angry they are sympathetic to him and become Loki fans. It's hilarious to hear her tell the story of the next generation of Loki fans emerging.

I said “YUP, Loki!” And a kid said “Whaaat brother of Thor?” And I said “HEY, Thor is brother of Loki OK?” 🤣 Years later, one of the boys from that class said to me “You know when you said you liked that guy Loki, I thought he was a real person! I didn’t know it was the Avengers guy until so much later.” 🤣🤣🤣

Avengers are called heroes no matter what it is they do - as Yelena says. Ironically enough, Odin calls Thor a “vain, greedy, cruel boy,” but no one holds that against Thor; he has a magical 3-day transformation where he suddenly realizes you shouldn’t slay an entire race and suddenly everyone thinks he’s a good guy. Why is he allowed to be good so suddenly, but Loki isn’t? If Loki is only good enough to be an anti-hero instead of a bad guy, shouldn’t Thor be considered an anti-hero too? The guy who’s killed at least 3000 people (by his own admission). Most of the avengers have killed people and done other morally and ethically grey things. Are they “good”? Are they anti-heroes? Bad guys? The MCU is full of complex characters, but only some of them have the right to be called “good” and be called hero by all the little children. That’s some powerful branding the Avengers have, Loki needs a better PR person. Maybe whoever is in charge of the Guardians of the Galaxy’s PR because they, despite being “a bit of both” good and bad, still are generally considered good. That team of ex thieves and assassins. I hereby retract my statement of “loki isn’t a bad guy” and now offer up “Loki IS a good guy” he’s no worse than any of the other complex good guys in the MCU - if they’re good enough so is he.

I have devoured The Essex Serpent in a couple of days, it was a compelling story with sympathetic characters and all of the actors aced their performances, it Is a pity that, in this interview, it is compleatly eclipse by yet another run-of-the-mill Marvel movie.
He is so unbelievably humble. I saw the previous interview on Jimmy Kimmel with all the “Avengers” and it seemed like they were all putting on a facade for the press, most of it felt fake and was a very uncomfortable watch but I’m SO glad Tom is just this RAVISHING human being. it’s so refreshing to see such a talented actor have a level head in arguably one of the biggest industries on the planet. I loved his character in the Marvel movies so I was delighted for him to get his own show to continue his storyline. I never even watched an interview of his but I’m glad I clicked on. He is wonderful

They're supposed to be speaking in Old Norse and the old norse branched/evolved into the language Scandinavian people speak today like Norwegian-Norsk, Danish-Dansk and Swedish-Svenska also included a non Scandinavian country that has the closest to the old norse dialect-wise, Iceland-íslenskur

I can't help but feel that Kimmel waisted precious time with silly questions when we could hear this articulate man speak.
He even made COVID romantic. I love him!
That last section about ghosts and UFO's was Fallon levels of uncomfortable. Tom did a great job fending him off, seeing as Kimmel wouldn't let it go.

Did you notice that when Tom Hiddleston speaks, even Jimmy Kimmel shuts up for a few seconds? That man (Tom) ist a genius!!!
Tom Hiddleston put so much of himself in to every part that he plays and the passion, dignity, and charisma is beyond compare. Absolutely no one else could have made Loki better than Tom Hiddleston, the most loved “villain.” And everything he’s in, he’s been fantastic. And on top of that he is just an incredible human being who is beyond incredibly humble and genuine. One of the greatest actors of our generation without a doubt.
9:52 is why Tom H is such a great actor. He translates the characters so succinctly.
You can tell Jimmy genuinely enjoys Tom as much as the rest of us. This is the most engaged I've ever seen him conduct an interview.
