Good poop. I have the slightly smaller Advents on stands in a bedroom, and did that last year. One IMPORTANT tip -- that you DID but didn't discuss: Be absolutely SURE you get the fabric 'weave' exactly aligned with the panel edges. Otherwise, the speaker will look at you crooked for the rest of its musical life. DAMHIK. Had to do the first one twice. Musically, the Advents are pretty sweet. I don't know how they sound with pop and metal, but vocals and instrumentals, as well as classical and jazz, are laid back and lovely -- no matter what amp I hook them to. They seem to love my one class D. (But mine go sorta ugly above about 95 dB, no matter the amp.)
@@audioarkitekts The risk isn't failure; it's having to do it over. ;) I think I might replace the surrounds on the Advents' woofers. Now, that's an act of risk and bravery. [Maybe I should leave well enough alone.]
Well, I went up and looked at them both. The 8" woofer surrounds are actually healthy. What I can't figure is that one is about 6 dB louder than the other. They both sound the same, but it could be a crossover component. Speaker wire is 12 ga, so it isn't that. The existing fix is the balance control.
Wow that looks wayyyy better than the caydo cloth I used (too tight weave). Are the acoustically transparent? Mine are not and i take them off. How much did you order?
hey, my question is how do you take the front off, my one seems to be glued in with all the walls and built into the sides, i dont wanna crack or destroy the speaker box, but my speakers grill cloth is going up and down due to air pressure and it makes a rattling sound, so i wanna take it off, i have an orion hs282
I have done this few times too! Good job!
Thank you very much!

Thanks Jim! Yeah I was nervous since it was my first go at it but it came out great!

About to do this myself. I’ve seen two-sided tape, glue, and staples used. Glue was the previous method. Imagine you’d need short staples.

Looks great doing mine on the weekend
You are going to love the results!

that fabric is almost like canvas. not flexible you did good with what you had to work with. i like the look but that fabric is too stiff.
