This was wonderful. I've been scouring TH-cam for several months, looking for other BookTubers who appreciate Victorian literature, but my searches turned up only a handful of the channels you feature here. Thanks! As for my recommendation...Although it's not my favorite Victorian book of all time (that's still "Jane Eyre"), this fall I've been enjoying a close reading of Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray," which I am featuring in a Victober-inspired series on my fledgling channel.

I hope you enjoy them all :) I'd also highly, highly recommend Amanda Center (th-cam.com/channels/WWMESM5FUg-Reb7uxBdkfw.html), Annie from Bloom TV (th-cam.com/channels/q8mFyC1Pq4brj2C8yiCEqQ.html), Lucy from Lucythreader (th-cam.com/channels/shc1VYtf4bI3Q7Ibi5J-Cg.html), and Reneta from Book Craving (th-cam.com/channels/74GUH8-ZbU3KcyPbG4viiQ.html), who weren't able to contribute but are brilliant booktubers on Victorian literature.

Between your 'talk' about the 101 Victorian novels you've read and this video my Victorian TBR is getting out of hand. However I would like to put my two cents in: The Twilight Stories by Rhoda Broughton. This is a collection of ghost stories that was first published as Tales for Christmas Eve. So perfect for this time of year.

I really need to read some Rhoda Broughton - I'll add that to the list :)

A ton of classics I haven't read, including some I haven't heard of - lord knows I'll have to get to them soon enough. This has been a most amazing month of all the Victorian things. Thanks to all involved for the recommendations.

An interesting month of videos I'v enjoyed, thanks Katie. Among other texts, my Victober reads were the Woman in White, and Washington Square.
As it gets closer to Christmas, maybe you could discuss Dicken's Christmas ghost stories; as you know there are many of them.

I do enjoy Dickens's Christmas works. I may read/reread a few around Christmas time.

I have started to read the classics in October and so far so good 😊 i have never been able to concentrate or even find the interest to read them, but that surprisingly changed last month. I'm almost halfway through The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë and i love it. I hope i'll finish it and get on with Wuthering Heights next. Fingers crossed. P/s: you are now my source of inspiration 😁💜 thank u!

The problem with 9 out of 10 of these is that they like novels mostly for how well it fits into the culture of critique rather than on what its artistic merits are or how captivating it is.

I dream of a world in which the word "misogyny" is never used unironically --- where it's only the punchline to a joke.
