I do this full time and have recorded 400+ projects so I'm looking to upgrade my equipment in the future but this set up hasn't let me down.

It’s entirely up to you and the book you’re working on. If a book is about 3 hours in length you may decide that you want to get paid an hour for that length. If it’s only an hour then maybe you’re looking to make more that just the hour for the rate that your charging. I would never do royalty share on a book that’s over 5 hours. That’s a lot of time put into recording and there isn’t that much guarantee with royalty shares since you don’t know much profit you will get from the sales. I hope that answers your question. Yes. I use a USB microphone. I think the hardest part about audio is making sure it is clear enough. You won’t know until you submit it and they get back to you a few days later. I recommend trying to complete your narration before the book is due in case you have to re-record any audio files.

They are mostly strict about audio quality. If you have a good microphone and can provide quality audio of the book you are narrating then that should be fine.

It depends on if the author is specific about which accent they would like. I can not say that it will hinder. You may find an author that would love to use your voice with the accent. Give a try.
It can be a bit tricky trying to figure out audio levels on whichever software you’re using to record. My biggest problem was making sure the recording space was quiet and that my mic wouldn’t pick up too much noise. If there are any issues with the sound quality then your book won’t be published.

You have to use your authentic voice to record the narration, not Google translate. You can try to look for titles that require an accent. You also have have either US, Canada, and Ireland citizenship.
If it's your first time doing an audiobook, read up on the requirements for audio quality. Pick a book that you really would love to work on and just have fun with it.
It’s not difficult. Sound quality is the most important factor. As long your sound quality is good enough to pass ACX requirements the rest is up to you on what kind of book you want to work on. Go for a genre you enjoy. Good luck!
Hey! If you are recording the audio it has to be in mp3 format and should be what the author has requested for the audition. They will usually provide the text for you to read. No background music. It should only be audio of the book narration.
@@storytellershlok8919 correct. You need to pass a audio quality check through ACX first so the vocals need to be heard clearly without any other noise. If there is any ambient sounds or noise in the background including music, the book will not be published.

If it's your first time doing an audiobook, read up on the requirements for audio quality. Pick a book that you really would love to work on and just have fun with it.

It’s not difficult. Sound quality is the most important factor. As long your sound quality is good enough to pass ACX requirements the rest is up to you on what kind of book you want to work on. Go for a genre you enjoy. Good luck!

Hii...can we record raw audio for audition ? and if author give us chance to narrate...do we need to produce it with background music ??
Hey! If you are recording the audio it has to be in mp3 format and should be what the author has requested for the audition. They will usually provide the text for you to read. No background music. It should only be audio of the book narration.

@@storytellershlok8919 correct. You need to pass a audio quality check through ACX first so the vocals need to be heard clearly without any other noise. If there is any ambient sounds or noise in the background including music, the book will not be published.

You can try to see if there is anyone that needs a specific accent. You can put in filters in the accent section. Best of luck!

I don’t think they allow virtual address since it requires tax information.
