      Criminals can't LEGALLY purchase a firearm. That's already a law. Every person that buys a gun no mater at a gun show or a local firearm Dealer must fill out a background check. Now if you're like Hunter Biden and lie on you background check. That's another story. Background checks are federal law on every gun sale. Even at county gun shows. That's a fact. these people know nothing about the 2nd amendment or firearms and they don't know what firearms that was around during the time it was written. the 2nd amendment was written the way it was because our founding fathers fought against a tyrannical dictator and they new that power corrupts. the 2nd amendment doesn't need to be re-written or changed these people don't even know the gun laws if you are a felon you can't own a firearm and there is 20,000 laws between state and federal on guns. the problem is inner-city gang violence criminals don't follow the laws and they get guns illegally they know how to obtain them without going to a firearms store. the fact that these young people don't understand the 2nd amendment as well as the 3rd amendment apparently they need to re-read the constitution or do research on the constitution to understand it

    • @HWG-wm8ld
      @HWG-wm8ld 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Drew, get a clue. A gun is a gun. The amount of people that are taken down by what you call an assault weapon is less than 100 people per year. This includes the police using them on civilians, are you okay with that? The number of actual kids, high school and below that are not in gang related situations is less than 20 per year. Swimming pools kill way more, distracted driving kills way more, abortion kills more than all those out together. If the “assault weapons” were never invented, there are shot guns(which do more damage), pistols(which are easily concealed and account for the majority of lives lost, not to mention 90% of all inner city shootings) lever action rifles and single shot guns.
      More lives are saved because of the 2nd amendment, period.

    I lean liberal (but don't think a lot about politics) so here's my answer, I'd leave the constitution alone, however if I were to add an amendment, it would be something about protecting workers and preventing monopolies like the big tech companies, big pharma companies, also protect social security and retirement for the elderly. I'm so glad in my small town we don't have big box stories (our closest Walmart is in the next state). Also I don't like how manufacturing jobs are shipped overseas. Maybe there's stuff I'm missing, I dunno. I'd be interested/curious to hear responses to this. I'll be the first to admit I'm no expert on any of this so there's maybe a lot that I'm getting wrong. Or maybe I have good ideas. What do you think?

    • @TheHabsification
      @TheHabsification 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There's a lot to unpack in your post. The country already has worker protections, anti-monopoly anti-trust laws and tort laws. Social security and retirement for the elderly is already protected, the issue isn't the protection it's the inevitable collapse due it being completely unsustainable. Manufacturing jobs being shipped overseas has nothing to do with constitution that's more of an issue of policy.
      The US Constitution is the foundational and fundamental law of the US. The point of it is to outline the role of government, what it's limits are and what are the individual liberties(Rights) of the citizenry.

    • @GraniteStateVictoria
      @GraniteStateVictoria 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheHabsification NAFTA has to be one of the worst anti-worker pieces of legislation ever drafted. Although I'll concede that a lot of the problems aren't the laws (or lack thereof) but the enforcement (or lack thereof). Google needs to be broken up for example, same with META (Facebook) and any of those supercorporatios that own everything. For example, Phillip Morris owns Kraft which owns Nabisco.
