Man what a solid review. I shared a lot of the same criticisms that you had with this throw. The price mainly being the issue. I am not someone that will shy away from paying a premium price to get a premium product. I collect G2 yoyos, which are not cheap. But when an american made, perfect smooth, high quality yoyo such as a G squared product, has the same price point as a mass produced, 6061 throw manufactured in China, there is a problem. I am not digging on Chinese mfg, there are plenty of great Chinese bi metals that are a fraction of this price with 7075 aluminum and 10/10 smoothness out of the box. This throw in my opinion was priced for the hype. YYF states that the price is due to the fact that it was designed by a Japanese designer, which is great, but it was in no way machined by one. And I have found it is a common trend to receive b grade quality throws due to the vibe, at A-grade pricing when it comes to yoyo factory. I hope they see this review and take it to heart when producing their next product. This comment is not meant to bash YYF, I purchase their products and will continue to do so, but honest criticism is needed in our community, to help companies understand where the bar is set and what consumers expect from a 120$ price tag in 2020. Thanks again for a great video Joe!

Most G2 yoyos (that I'm aware of) have been manufactured in China since early 2018 - Jake posted a blog post about it when he announced the Elite '18. Most of G2's designs are also 6061. Just wanted to correct those inaccuracies.

      @theraccoonasaur3282 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Some of the things you said about yoyo factory were inaccurate. The replay pro, shutter, and shutter wide angle are all very good at a cheap price compared to similarly preforming yo-yos.
The bi metal shutter is very overpriced tho

@@theraccoonasaur3282 my comment was specifically only about the bi metal shutter. I wasn’t commenting on the price of their less expensive models.

i agree with you, and with practically everything mentioned in the video. if i had to guess... in its simplest and purest form, i would guess the reason its $120 (or was idk if its dropped since) is because of how well the shutter did, which as far as i can tell having just returned to the yoyo scene and getting up to date with research. it seems like the shutter did extremely well.. and well that surely was enough reason to release a version which is ( correct me if I'm wrong but) a higher tier in terms of quality, and they knew very well that slapping that hefty price was ridiculous, but looking at it from a marketing point of view.. it was perfect and made perfect sense. otherwise i don't think they would of bothered with the whole idea otherwise. just my thought.

Hey joe! As much of a yyf person that I am (obviously) I REALLY appreciate this review. I wholeheartedly encourage you to try yoyos that you have some negative opinions on, and really be strict on your reviewing guidelines. I find too many reviewers that are saturated with positive reviews just because “if it’s not good, why review it?” I would rather the community know the truth than spend 120$ on a yoyo that they didn’t fully understand.
That being said, butter is fire. :)

Definitely one of the best reviews from you! 😄😄😄
If you're doing a Shutter family comparasion, I highly recommend you to add the Shu-Ta, since the cup of it and the bishutter's is basically the same. Also because people said the original Shutter should have been the Shu-Ta directly.
I don't own a Shu-Ta but I'm sure you can find someone to lend it to you for this review 🙏🏼
PD: Both Shutter and Shutter WA have been beaters of mine, my fav is the WA. I totally agree that the shape of the Bimetal Shutter is satisfying to throw and catch 🤤🤤🤤 But fot 120$ it's not worth it IMO.
People be callin it the butter but as a Mediterranean myself I know there's no smoothest thing than Olive oil. Make an olive oil smooth bi-Shutter yoyo and then we'll talk.
PD2: can the kids stop eating butter to promote the Butter it's grosssssss 🤣

good review bro, i gotta say, (and i don't normally go outta my way to say these kinda things but) I love that you target and hit all the right areas about the product. u basically nailed it!. very informative...and well before anything else, lets be honest most kids your age somehow always come off a little bit foolish and far from accurate with facts and information, almost like they jump the gun into making the review without actually having sufficient knowledge or taking the time into doing proper research prior to recoring, anyhow. in your case i really liked the way you express yourself, you really come off as being very bright and intelligent, which is more than i can say from kids in your age range. you got a lot of potential kid. so with that being said, that's 2 big thumbs up for me bro, keep putting out content with this level of quality and IMHO i don't see why you wouldn't reach the goals you aimed for in terms of being a TH-camr... you got my sub.!

Love your reviews Joe. I really like how you really get down to the points; positive and negative, of a yoyo. especially for a premium one like this. Eventhough I'm working, using those salary solely for a hefty 120 dollar is a bit too much. A very deliberate review like this I definitely appreciate. Again, great job on the awesome reviews.

I have a big metal shutter and I completely agree. It's a very good yoyo but, they really should have put more time and care. Like 7068 aluminum, titanium axel, and a nsk bearing if they are going to charge $120. (BTW my bi metal shutter was donated to me for Christmas, I did not pay for it). Otherwise MAYBE $100. You should compare this to the OG edge. Also I may have gotten a good batch of you got a bad batch but mine is smooth as butter 👌.

I was thinking of grabbing this, because I really want a bi-metal yoyo, but i suspected that, since its YYF, the quality wouldn't be all that great, as they are mass produced in China and don't exactly have that good of quality control. I guess I'll just wait for some One Drop bi-metals to drop.

Understandable for the price criticism, but keep in mind yes it woupd have been nice for the yoyo to be made out of a 7075 or 7071 alloy, yes it would have been nice to get an NSK bearing, but... the design of this yoyo is from ankther company. That other company will not just pass out a design to another business. The reason this yoyo is expensive is because they have to pay that company for every unit sold. Thus kind of justifying the price. Mine was a gift to me and I love the yoyo its new but familiar in a way. I has a different magic about it almost like some clyws. But its own unique "magic" i would have personally priced it in the 80's or 90's, maybe $100.

If Apple made yoyo's. Everyone's held hostage to their price tags and needs to justify it to avoid buyer's remorse. Good yo's, sure! Well priced, nah. Flawless QC? Why bother, right? People will still buy it. Perhaps that is how marketing works these days or always has, most people burn money and that bleeds some peals here and there, so I say:
Thank you to all the people that bought these over priced, over hyped and under refined stuff.
