When it comes to Ant’s replay value argument, I feel like there’s something he isn’t considering. There’s a concept of the value of a thing and the inherent cost/toll it takes to experience said thing. If you were to go to a Michelin star restaurant and eat a meal crafted by the most skilled chefs in the world, you would be wise to rank it as some of the best food you’ve ever eaten. Like Luca said, you won’t be watching Schindlers list on repeat just as you won’t be listening to We Cry Together on repeat. However you can still appreciate Kendrick and Taylour’s amazing performance. When you use replay value, commercial appeal, and accessibility as such a high metric, the art you enjoy is comparatively what McDonald’s is to the food industry…

Might Delete Later is so much better than people give it credit for. The cole apology skewed everyone’s view of it. Has some of the best rapping of his career and great production throughout. Arguably a few weak tracks like fever or the joint with central cee. But besides those its consistently great.
Kendrick has artistic value WITH Replay value in tpab and gkmc. thats what makes those records classic. same story with Damn. But Mr Morale's only merit is its concept and some songwriting, the record lacks replay value and even some tracks like rich spirit, and die hard are straight up skips ☠️ its his weakest album bruh

Ant putting Untitled Unmastered bellow Scorpion is a horrible take. That album is the PERFECT example of "quality control", this are DEMOS, and Kendrick presented every single one of them with amazing production, great performances, excelent writing, and keep a consistent vide through the whole project. I don't want to hear the too short excuse, no one forces them to make around 20 song projects with skips, Kendrick wouldn't have released this if the quality standard wasn't met.
I think that the off season is highly underrated. It's sad even! The project is absolutely amazing and very beautiful! Songs like let go of my hand Hunger on the hillside Even the interlude The incredible energy of amari and 95 south Close My life ( which is a classic already) I don't understand why ppl don't give this album the praise that it should have, it's hands down one of the best and complete projects of J.Cole, It's everything that he does good at its best! It's soulful, it's energetic, you can really feel the hunger, and I love it!

The level of efficiency, these guys speak with never ceases to amaze me. They talk so fast with very few breaks, interruptions, studders, “ums” or filler. Might Delete Later grew on me a lot. Cole is rapping his heart out in every song especially something like Trae The Truth In Ibiza and Pi. The beats are solid too, the one thing that rubs me is that the songs dont really like, have any twists, they're pretty straight forward, if that makes sense.

The difficulty with this list is Drake has so many R&B and melodic tracks which take you in such a different direction and feeling to anything by Kendrick or Cole.
Thats why it’s hard for me to consider Take Care a classic. Those R&B performances are instant skips. I hated the title track when it came out but still considered the overall project great at the time.

I'm surprised that Lu had OD that high (18). Ig I haven't been watching them for too long but I would've guessed they both would've had it at the bottom. I also thought Lu was more of a Drake fan bc of his takes with Views but this video kinda shows who is a bigger fan.
As a fan of rap for the last 20 years…. I will say that I am a big fan of lyrics and artistry. Mr. Morale and the big steppers made me (a father, husband, man) cry. It made me feel and it made me think. It made me want to protect my babies and it made me want to be a better man. It allowed me to be honest and forthcoming with my wife and it reminded me that I may be flawed and I might be poisoned, but I can become a better human and I can end generational curses. Hearing the innocence in that little girl thank her father not because it was something she knew she avoided, but because she was aloof as to the evils of the world because of Kendrick’s persistence. When you can relate to a project, shit will always hit hard.

How can Ant not even acknowledge IYRTITL was ghost written. Quentin and Drake wrote that album and it was Drake’s 4th album. Kendrick wrote Section .80 alone and it was his first album and it’s STILL better.
I don't think that affects the quality of the album. Who knows what Drake actually wrote himself at this point. Ghostwriters should knock Drake in the MC discussion, but if the album is good, it's good regardless of who wrote the rhymes.

As a fan of rap for the last 20 years…. I will say that I am a big fan of lyrics and artistry. Mr. Morale and the big steppers made me (a father, husband, man) cry. It made me feel and it made me think. It made me want to protect my babies and it made me want to be a better man. It allowed me to be honest and forthcoming with my wife and it reminded me that I may be flawed and I might be poisoned, but I can become a better human and I can end generational curses. Hearing the innocence in that little girl thank her father not because it was something she knew she avoided, but because she was aloof as to the evils of the world because of Kendrick’s persistence. When you can relate to a project, shit will always hit hard.

How can Ant not even acknowledge IYRTITL was ghost written. Quentin and Drake wrote that album and it was Drake’s 4th album. Kendrick wrote Section .80 alone and it was his first album and it’s STILL better.
I don't think that affects the quality of the album. Who knows what Drake actually wrote himself at this point. Ghostwriters should knock Drake in the MC discussion, but if the album is good, it's good regardless of who wrote the rhymes.
