Lowkey if you’re losing a lot of games in a row you might just be queuing up with the same people over and over. Turn it off for an hour and come back on and you’ll notice the player-base change dramatically. It works.
The only people who go on massive loss streaks are people who let frustration and stress get to them, the minute you stop worrying so much about wins/losses and instead about your own performance those big loss streaks stop happening
People not taking space is a huge issue in more casual ranks. People generally refuse to leave the objective outside of team fights. But even without teammates its still viable to take some space, so the next team fight gets delayed for a few seconds.
I see the opposite, almost nobody in my QP and comp games stays on the point, to a fault. It's gotten to the point where I can almost perfectly predict when we're gonna lose the obj because we're overextending and camping their spawn. Happens in almost every game of Control. Maps like Lijang and Busan are so gracious with their off-angle high grounds, but are ignored in favor of camping main lanes with the point far behind you.
I think it's better to not overextend than to try and maintain taken space unless there's some semblance of coordination or flow with the team. Never seems to work out otherwise. When in doubt, get a good angle rather than occupying space you could do without, having limited teamplay.

There is a difference between Hard/easy to Play (execution) and Hard/Easy to play (Value) Mechanically demanding characters with high value end up not using half the mechanics that they have or their kit is built to play well if executed well. Mechanically easy characters with low value usually means that their overall power is weak but they are easy to use. Mechanically hard characters with low value, end up being thrown to the side because "Why play this really hard character when I can play the easy character and get more value." When people feel like the game isn't rewarding skillful play. Some people stick with them because the mechanics IS the fun part of the character. Finally a Mechanically easy character with high value usually ends up being meta because they are consistent and have low execution demands. If you can achieve everything you want easily with little to no risk to yourself and Everytime you hit a button you get value, this is what people mean when they talk about braindead characters. Haha I used my funny button I win! In simpler terms. Basically there are varying degrees of difficulty and Mechanics ≠ Value. They can be easy to play but hard to use against any competent opponent. They can be Mechanically demanding but have such an easy time doing their mechanically demanding things. Say if you had a move that was difficult to do but every time you did it the whole team dies compared to the character with a move that locks on to everyone but barely makes a dent in their health for example.
