Got the Helite Turtle 2. The vendor deployed it while i was wearing it. Jesus it was tight when it went off. Felt like the biggest and strongest bear hug ever. Also my head was completely locked in, barely able to move it. Airbags are the future and im not riding without one. Also looking at the one you got for offroad and trail riding. Good video.
Interesting video. We have some similarities. I'm 6'2" and 205 lbs but need to lose weight. I'd like to get the XL tech-air off-road. I'm 90% off road rider. Based on the size guide, I'm right on the edge of XL and 2XL. Helite is now selling fork sensors in the USA for the e-Turtle. This is pretty recent. You might like that more for the fit range since the e-Turtle is a vest only with quite a lot of adjustability. I own the Helite Turtle (tethered) but it's not suitable for off-road, enduro style riding which is mainly what I do.
So after using for a while, how cumbersome is it for street use? If you stop somewhere to get a bite or something it seems like removing your outer jacket and then the airbag would be a pain. I wish they would make the Techair 5 user serviceable like this one.
I have not used the tech-air 5, but the off-road is cumbersome, recommend for short round-trips only. It is warm, but air flow, once moving is pretty good through front chest w/ my jacket zipped down and a wicking body type long sleeve shirt underneath. I find a big issue for me is not being able to turn it on without unzipping 1st. I can turn it off w/ button but not on. I believe techair 5 is much better for this as unzipping and reconnecting closure sensor would be less cumbersome. The plus is a I really feel I am getting many extra levels of safety compared to my jacket alone, even against the techair 5. Long trips, considering something I can take off at stops like helite.
@@omodd Thanks for the info. I agree with the extra safety but it's already a PITA to ride AGATT and I don't want to add to that - LOL! I was considering the E-Turtle2 and talked to Helite about the fork sensor. Was told it will be in stock in the US in about 2 weeks. Helite also mentioned a new Turtle coming out with some sort of added front protection as well but was told sizing may be difficult. That new unit is also different from their offroad version that will be released in the US soon. A lot changing in this space. Not sure when to jump in! Thanks for your content.
Gosh how you live your lives guys..? Here in the UK, unless it's a city centre, we leave parcels on porches and they are completely fine waiting for an owner to pick them up in the evening after work. On a vest, it's a shame they only do it upto 2xl. I am 6.3", 24 stones. Alpinestars texh-air3 4XL is the only 1 that fits me apart from Helite turtle XL-L. Happy riding.

Have you found problems with sizing up of old kit over the top of this??🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🏍️🏍️
I took padding out of my summer jacket and it barely fit. I ended up buying next size up anyway, as it was an inexpensive HWK jacket.

Doesn't look too big, personally I like armor to fit tight so in a crash nothing slides out of place.
fits/feels good when I am riding. I ended up keeping it.
Let’s just leave this expensive airbag on the front porch
Strange the vendor did not have an option or forced a signature themselves. I have a motion camera that notified me.
