  • Learning the Heel to Toe/Switch Foiling Gybe with Christian and Karine from CKPerformanceClinics
Part 3 of our learning to gybe wingfoil series. If you’ve been following the previous gybing videos you’re up to speed with steering, bearing away and your wing flip. You’re ready for the next challenge, gybing on the foil. We’ve broken the gybe down into stages so that you can concentrate on, and work on, each stage individually both now and as you improve.

Hi ↩️is it easy to Jibe strapless? After first 30 degrees turn,i push wing out side and 👉i try keep board flat👈, when i release back hand from the handle= 👉board is unstable👈 even with good stable speed, my back feet is on the mast , and front feet at 45 degrees, both on the center line of the board, i try to bend my ankles to be lower.. how can i fix this issue?

Thank you for helping beginners ! At 4:10 starts an explanation of how recovering power. I think it is crucial and needs a dedicated tuto ! In windsurf many lose all speed just after the sail flip, but the consequence is less vital than in wingfoiling where it means taxiing in switch stance and in chopy water it means falling. So if you have other tips (I have well noticed your advice about the backhand, the front arm and the shoulders) to get power back in the wing that would be great ! Eg, what about the feet, what kind of pressure do you advise to apply to increase success odds ? Of course if the foil is up forever then one day the wind will come back, but it is up only for a very limited time at the jibe exit.

4:44 Yeh ! I'm not the only one on the planet who moves my front foot back before moving my back foot forward when switching stance. Well, at least in taxi mode. 🙂
Great video. Deserves way more views. Gliding with only one hand on the handle/boom and looking out of the turn rather than down at the water are two key tips.

Thanks Shred:) Yup front foot back works for both woffing and foiling. And great tips too, not rushing into a wing flip and looking where you're going.

Do you not foot switch when carving / turning on the foil ?

Sorry for the slow reply! It's best to change feet before or after a gybe, not during as you may well do windsurfing.
