Have you considered growing calla lilies? If so varieties please
ปีที่แล้ว +32
Funny: the content is basically irrelevant for most of us- even "boring" per se. But you guys are so cute and playful about your flowers, that when a new video comes online, there we are, rooting for you like in our favorite ballgame! PS your bouquets are absolutely not boring- they are becoming legitimate works of art....
Yes!!! This is what I just thought watching the video: I can not believe I am watching this video full of excitement and anticipation of spring smiling from ear to ear! You two Serina and Ian have a talent of transfering your emotions through the screen! Thank xou for letting us be part of it!
@@MyFocusVaries yes… I do understand that there are many flower farmers and passionate gardeners here that also get very valuable information from these videos. But I guess there is also a huge part of the audience that does not grow flowers and is still very excited for these videos and that says a lot about how passionate we have become about everything going on on the red roof family farm :-).
I get so excited watching your videos when you talk about flowers. Yes, is good that you grow flowers that others don't grow. You inspired me to grow flowers I haven't tried in my garden. Yes, take a good vacation and rest as you deserve it. Can't wait till spring when you plants are doing great.
Being in Florida, I can’t grow your flowers/bulbs but I get so enthused with your excitement. Looking forward to Spring and all the beautiful “pretties”.
So so excited to see how these new varieties turn out. You descriptions are so fun. This next year will be my second year growing flowers to sell and I get so inspired by your channel.
I can't wait in the spring see your flowers that look beautiful you showing and good luck learning new language and have a the best vacation for you guys in Mexico.
Peonies are my most favorite. Such romantic blossoms and the scent is intoxicating 😊 I have several, one in particular (a medium pink.. don’t recall the name any, ore) is about 20 years old and easily gives me 4-5 dozen blossoms a year now 😊
Love purple. Planted anemones. Last year nothing happened. Now they are putting out leaves. Area 9 Maybe it takes 2 yrs here Enthusiasm +++++ great to see. This is why tulips & daffodils are how I look forward since we got a home 40 yrs or more😢 but each Autumn I love getting more down to live another year to enjoy them Have a great holiday. Do nothing sap swim @ rest 👏💕💕💕
I do not get to go on vacation ,as a Stay-At-Home mom, but my gardens are my Happy Place. This year I started putting in my first dedicated flower garden. I have always grown flowers as a companion plant but this the very first Flower Garden. So excited!
I love the new flowers you ordered!! The soft blue and the Tigre anemones stand out to me. oh and the orange anemones are total knockouts!! So happy for you and thank you for sharing the joy in the video, it just makes my day. Good luck with getting them in the ground. You deserve a great vacation!
Your just beeming with joy. I love it!🥰 Oh do I want spring to get here. I'm just so anxious to start seedlings an start growing. I'm doing a small flower farm for fun. I only wish I had space for these. Can't wait to see what they all look like come spring.😊
Thank you for sharing all the details so that we can learn too. I’m in a completely different zone, south GA, 8b, but I learn so much from you that I can use on my tiny flower farm. I love your channel!
I've learned so much from you, especially in this particular video. Thank you to you and your hubby for sharing your experience! You are lovely people. Enjoy your holidays, and can't wait to follow along with you in the Spring!
Serina, this is such a nice present you made yourself, forgetting what you have ordered! I had a big smile on my face the hole video. And by the way: The colour of the yellow peonies... gorgious! Maybe you can let one plant produce one single flower so we can see the colours... ? See... you made me very impatient and excited for your new flowers ;-). The video worked...
I grew those elegance striato bianco last year, and although I didn't order them, somehow, I ended up with a couple of the elegance Striato giallo too. The Yellow and red are not something I would normally choose, but since they just turned up in my garden, I have to say that they were stunning. From your POV, I can totally see how they would work in your arrangements. The Elegance range is rather spectacular, and I was so sad that the Malva from it that I ordered just didn't make it. I can't wait to see all yours come our. Each year just gets more exciting!
Beautiful. Do lilacs grow in your zone? Next to peonies, lilacs are another favorite of mine. Ranunculus were my first flower when my parents gave me my first window box. My last house, I had ranunculus that came back every year. I lost them when I loved - I did bring some over but they did not do well in my current climate. Instead, I have my freesias that I brought from my last house - they are still going strong, making bigger patches each year. All your flowers look beautiful.
Your Christmas story was funny! My Bro and I (we were the youngest, 1 yr apart) would wake at 5 am and poke through everyones "piles" of gifts and stockings, then go back to sleep until 7am (Mom's rule!) Our older sis would sit and eat everything in her stocking and watch us open our gifts, only then would she open hers! Drove Mom crazy! Haha!🎁. One of my 2 Pomeranians (both past last year) Would wait under the stockings at the fireplace until the kids got up and would periodically "grumpf" and "grrrr" quietly until we started, as he wanted his snacks! Haha!
The mistral anemones 100% sprouted for me in like 6 days, in 50/50 vermiculite and peat, they're very easy to grow. I planted in garden as soon as I got roots and the green leaves came up a few days later. All very rewarding. Yellow ranunculus is the hardest for me to grow, they keep going moldy.
Serena, I just absolutely love your contagious enthusiasm! I have watched your videos for a long time and have often wished I could help you with your work load so you wouldn't be so stressed. Yet, you would probably find another thing to add to your list of to dos. LOL
I can't wait for the farm to begin again in 2023! You will need your previous employee to return to harvest all of these gorgeous flowers while you make the bouquets. And, maybe expand the roadside stand to hold more flowers and greeting cards.💖 I have a feeling next year will be the farm's biggest year in product & profits so far.🍀
Thank you so much for posting Serina! I too am interested in Anemones and Ranunculous too. I stumbled onto them a few years ago, on a much smaller scale. I am not a Flower Farmer, just love, love, love, growing all types of flowers. I am in zone 5B eastern ON. We can be very cold in the winter. I think our advantage is that we mostly have snow cover the whole winter. I better understand how to start Ranunculus, because Nicole from Flower Hill Farm posted, but very unsure about Anemones. I would like to know how early I can plant Anemones. Also I was unsuccessful over wintering their corms (in the ground), so the following year I tried digging up both Anemone and Ranunculous corms, but only found a few Anemone corms, and was unsuccessful getting them to grow again this past spring. I look forward to your help. Peonies....I really liked the soft yellow one. Yellow Girl. The whites were spectacular too. Again, thank you so much for posting and sharing your information! You are very generous in helping us. Take care! Eileen 💕😊🍁🇨🇦
You get me so anxious about spring planting! I ordered 50 ranunculus and just received them a couple weeks ago. Mine will be out in the open. I’m planning on saving the tubers every year. Will they get to the bigger size, like the ones in your order if I keep saving them from year to year? I love all the colors, and the new peonies are beautiful. To me, peonies smell like roses. Will anemones come back every year? I’m in zone 5b, on the Idaho BC border. It’s going to be exciting and beautiful at your place this Spring, Summer and Fall, I can’t wait!
Im not a flower farmer but I think you should invest in peonies and roses ! Less work ! I can't imagine how you'll be able to harvest all 15000 tulips ! Maybe you will hire seasonal help ! I'm happy you show the flowers and give info about how they grow - it's very helpful for someone with a small garden ! :)))
I recently got some Italian anemones I've been looking to grow them for a while but this spring will be my first time trying :) Im in zone 3b so its going to be interesting xD
The paeonies need to be planted not too deep ...otherwise they produce leaves and no flowers. Paeonies flower stems need extra support ....just to tell you . You amended the soil before planting ? Planting garlic in between keeps them healthy. All tips from my grandmother I passed on to you. good luck
When do you put the anemones and ranunculus into the ground? I'm reading about both fall and spring plantings. Thanks! Just ordered some anemones for my small garden, inspired by your joy!
Love watching your channel. Besides your flea market and your roadside stand what other avenues do you sell your flowers at? I don't recall you ever saying you do weddings and things of that sort. Do you sell to florists?
Hello 👋, Holy Waters Homestead here… I know you’ve said many times you dislike 👎🏻 COSMOS 🌼 but have you seen the new variety Johnny’s has? It’s called 🌸 Double Click Rose Bon Bon Cosmos Seed and wow.. 😮 how pretty is it!
With the peaonies. You say it will be hard not to let them bloom. Does that mean you will actually remove stems prematurely? I thought it was that you just shouldn’t harvest the flowers?
I dug up the bright varieties from the tunnel and have them saved indoors. The others I never got around to digging, so I'm doing an experiment about if they can survive the winter, lol. I think they might actually be able to survive colder Temps then we would expect as long as they don't get flooded and rotted.

You can use your Babbel affiliation to learn Italian and then you will be able to pronounce the ranunculus and anemone names properly ☺️

I find it totally helpful for considering what varieties to grow myself!!

I’m so happy that you’re going on vacation, your family works hard! I’m also excited about the Ranunculus.
I had no idea there were that many anemone varieties!! I can't wait for them to grow and bloom!! 😍
Your smile and excitement tells it all.

Just WOW! I can hardly wait for spring to see your wonderful bouquets come to life! Have an amazing vacation!
I have pionies that were my grandmother's then my mother's now mine. They are very precious to me & beautiful
Me encanta su verdadero esfuerzo por aprender el idioma, español, felices vacaciones. Saludos desde Costa Rica
Your excitement alone has me waiting at the roadside stand until next spring.
Those peony tubers from Unicorn Blooms are MONSTERS- wow! Jealous!
So so excited to see how these new varieties turn out. You descriptions are so fun. This next year will be my second year growing flowers to sell and I get so inspired by your channel.

It is so nice to see someone enjoy their job. You are just so excited. You do such a wonderful job.

I am so excited for you with the peonies. Once established they can have a 70 year life span! Maybe a hydrangeas hedge going into year six?
Haa Serena, so happy so excited! Who wouldn't be, growing all the colours in the world? Thankyou for sharing the joy. JR
i’m glad i’m watching this now so i don’t have to wait and can just binge watch to see the results 🍿i’m so excited!
Your poor mum.. 🥺 I regret anything I have done hurting her since I understand now how much she did for me as a kid.
I want to re-watch this and count how many times Serena says "this is my favorite" 😂
I really want to comment this ever since last year LOL
I do not get to go on vacation ,as a Stay-At-Home mom, but my gardens are my Happy Place. This year I started putting in my first dedicated flower garden. I have always grown flowers as a companion plant but this the very first Flower Garden. So excited!
You two are like friends..the conversation is really exciting. Glad to hear you all are taking a vacation!! Thanks for sharing!
I love your enthusiasm! I hope it’s catching.

This is your Christmas moment, no doubt. The excitement and happiness are oozing out of you. 🤣🤣 Over the moon !!
Your enthusiasm about ranunculus is infectious!
I don't know how I missed this! I've been debating the bordeaux anemone. Thank you!
Your enthusiasm makes me smile.
I am so excited for you. God bless y'all
I can’t wait to see your rainbow bouquets next year! Love to see your excitement for spring ❤️🌺💐

You got some pretty amazing colors! How super exciting:)

I agree about the anenomes. They did so well for me growing outside.
Wow! Loved this video, cant wait to see how all your new picks turn out! Thanks for sharing! :}

Thanks for sharing! How are the peonies doing? these were really very good massive roots that you got 🌿- happy for you. A friend from Toronto, ON
Can't wait for planting to start!!!
Can't wait to see the yellow double tulips and the orange ranunculus. Oh, who am I kidding....I want to see them ALL!!!
Serena, I just absolutely love your contagious enthusiasm! I have watched your videos for a long time and have often wished I could help you with your work load so you wouldn't be so stressed. Yet, you would probably find another thing to add to your list of to dos. LOL

You're so excited that you're mispronouncing the name of the flower constantly AneNoMes, LOL!
Looking forward to the beauty come spring😍
y'all are like THE ranunculus guys now
Next year I will also try to sow some anemone and ranunculus. They are real beauties and can not wait to see them bloom!
I hate grass too except for when they are in bouquets too
Wonderful collection.

I was thinking about paeonias and you started to talk about ❤ this is a great flower to grow ❤❤
It’s learning not boring
Is Serina excited? Absolutely!!!
That was a great video!
What do you do with all your bulbs from last year. My mom would have us dig the bulbs and put them away in sawdust.
Im not a flower farmer but I think you should invest in peonies and roses ! Less work ! I can't imagine how you'll be able to harvest all 15000 tulips ! Maybe you will hire seasonal help ! Love all of your content! Love these unboxing videos! Did you save last year’s corms too? And if so, are you planting those along side the new ones?

Espero un día poder disfrutar un video de ustedes en español con esos cursos, saludos y bendiciones desde México

Love watching your channel. Besides your flea market and your roadside stand what other avenues do you sell your flowers at?
I don't recall you ever saying you do weddings and things of that sort.
Do you sell to florists?
Last year you were able to re-grow some ranunculus roots. Will you try that again?
Where did you order the variegated ranuculus? Unicorn blooms?
How beautiful.
Anemones are easy.
Have fun.
All of your bulbs and corms from last year are still growing though These new ones are for additional beds?
Better is a handful of rest than two handfuls of hard work.
I loved today's comercial 🤩you have a very intense English accent in Spanish 😁
Hello 👋, Holy Waters Homestead here… I know you’ve said many times you dislike 👎🏻 COSMOS 🌼 but have you seen the new variety Johnny’s has? It’s called 🌸 Double Click Rose Bon Bon Cosmos Seed and wow.. 😮 how pretty is it!
Hi Serena and Ian! Do you plant the ranunculus and anemone in the spring or fall?
Omg. Where are you going to sprout all this! You are gonna need two more racks!
Btw, I had one unique ranunculus last year that looked kinda like that yellow striato one. It was memorizing. 100% a fan.
Do you dig up your corms?
"MI novio es feo" your hubby would be upset to know you have a boyfriend 😉 you go girl!!
Ah-Ne-Mo-Nes!!
Do you use dried floral preservative spray on your dried flowers? I'm wondering if it's worth it or a waste of time and money.
Will you do a video of you planting them?
We have a vlog planting the peonies we are still working on. We will show growing the corms over the next few months
Nice colors I love ranunculus You totally should have bought at least a couple coral peony’s!!! 😅
With the peaonies. You say it will be hard not to let them bloom. Does that mean you will actually remove stems prematurely? I thought it was that you just shouldn’t harvest the flowers?
Do the ranunculus stay in the ground year round? I notice you do not do gladioli- maybe because they would need to be dug up?
"... AND I HATE THE GRASS". LMAO.
Сирена, вам нужно посадить Acacia Dealbata и Syringa. Это многолетние кустарники, они хороши для букетов.
Woo Hoo!!!!
Do anemonies overwinter?
"We'll have to hold out for next year". If you were American, you'd be complaining about "shortages"! 😂
You & your family deserve a holiday 😅🏝💕🌹🌷
Where do you buy yours from.
Wow. I hope you don’t have to plant them i. The snow/ frozen ground and compost. But ifnyou do at least it’ll be entertaining !
We have the peonies done! It wasn't pleasant but at least they are in!
Ranunculus and anemones : are you also keeping your own from last season ? Drying them or inground ?
I dug up the bright varieties from the tunnel and have them saved indoors. The others I never got around to digging, so I'm doing an experiment about if they can survive the winter, lol. I think they might actually be able to survive colder Temps then we would expect as long as they don't get flooded and rotted.
Can anemone be left in the ground zone 5b?
We have had some small success with it, no guarantees that it will work for you though
Serina - Do you save your anemone and ranunculus corms or buy new every year?
Would like to know. Do you dig up or can they stay in the ground?
