I want to thank the narrator for such useful for all the world labour. I am listening to it almost 4 month and it improved my understanding of English a lot. I see it, when I listen to the radio. Of course, I learn each chapter with a dictionary very carefuly before listening and usually it tooks me one week of relistening each chapter for perfect understanding of each word and when such stage finishes, I can understand all without translation in my mind. It's amazing feeling, I am mere seeing picture of those exciting events. My native language is Russian, which is drastically other in its structure. But there aren't impossible things. And now I'll have to learn only last chapter of this book and I'll be able to assert that I mastered it in original language. I've read it when I was a child in the age of 10 years in Russian, and now in English and I'm a little proud of my latter achievment. I wonder what's the name of narrator and in which town he lives? I think, he's interesting intelligent person from England. If he's reading now my comment, thank you so much and be not in a shadow, please, tell us about you a few! Best regards, Nikolay, Moscow, Russian Federation.
I also want to improve my english. Can you explain me how do you learn English with audiobooks. Like, you read the book first, the hear the audiobook or what. (Sorry if my english is kinda bad or confusing. as I said, I want to improve him.)
You probably dont care but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Layton Messiah I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
My late great grandmother bought a copy of this book for my brother which I have since obtained. I'd begin to sit down and read it but life would get in the way. This audiobook version has now finally allowed me to get the story in full! Wonderful resource and a great story. Thank you.
I suffer from migraines and can have no lights or screens so audio books are wonderful. I just found this channel and am so thankful because there are a lot of crappy books on TH-cam.
20 years ago, I got what turned out to be an abridged tape recording of this. Already, hearing the full version, one word comes to mind -- mesmerizing.

They actually aren't reading, they have it all memorized. Very impressive stuff. Hopefully one day technology progresses enough that they can read and be recorded at the same time. As for now, they will have to deal with memorizing them.
I first tried to read this for the entirety of my 3rd grade (9-10 year old, 1968-69) and was excited but did not understand almost any of the nuances or British names for things. It was exciting for an ignorant 3rd grader and even more exciting for an (more learned) audiobook listener. This is still some great writing.
War Of The Worlds is so amazing because of the Martians and the Tripods and the movies of it and books. Plus my favorite movie of War Of The Worlds is the 2005 Tom Cruise movie .
*When you look in to the face of a terrifying T-800 Endo Metal Skeleton Terminator, The Predator or a Xenomorph you can* *see H.G.Wells!. The James Cameron or Steven Spielberg of his day. Amazing, scary story,& imagination.*

thanks for posting book, it may have been better to post how many minutes & seconds a chapter starts instead of the chapter length because can't just click on time cue to go to beginning of chapter, when click on your chapter length time cues, it jumps to that length in recording which is usually somplace in chapter one: 9 minutes in, 6 minutes in etc. as opposed to working as an easy index to the start of each chapter. person reading very good.
I wonder if it ever occurred to Wells that giving his god credit for the Martians destruction he would have to admit that his creator had also created the Martians or lol maybe each planet has it's very own creator ....oh noooo there are billions of gods.
Maybe SIX ! OR EIGHT !! RECORDS !! JEFF WAYNE !! WOULD HAVE NEEEDED TO DO THIS !!! PROPERLY !!! As set out !! By WELLS !! COULD THE ROCK BAND !? PLAY !? FOR THAT !! LONG !!? AND ORCHESTRA !!? WHAT A SOUNDTRACK !! LIKE STAR WARS !! EPISODE FOUR !! WAS !!
I feel bad cause I’m laughing my ass off at this. I simply can’t …watching this hi is weird af oh crap do they do the whole livrivox bit before each chapter? 🤯
On the Record , I Thought BURTON was Carrie's Girlfriend And we never saw Her Father ! On the Steamer ! Were her Mother was !!? Never mentioned that !! Either !!

Candice Webb Holy shit! Fix your slurring typing and get back on the wagon! You’re off the wagon and typing while being ass drunk! 🤦🏻♀️
lol
One of the best narrators I've ever heard, incredible voice and a commanding of tones such as to make the story come alive at one's own ears.
Audio book 📚 are
Free here. As many people like me are poor . thank you. You tube
Now that I've finished the whole story, rather than the abridged version I used to have on tape, I like how this played out.
I love listening to people reading

I've tried other voices but this guy really f rocks. Maybe bias but few reach this level of audio so distinctively.
Well narrated - thank you very much for your hard work and dedication
Thank you! Really enjoying this very vivid reading of the war of the worlds!
In the book
Martians: Helloooo human race!
In movie: OMAE WA MOU SHINDERU

Very well narrated 👍
Interesting comparing the movies to this story. The excellent 2005 Spielberg version took many elements and condensed them.
not "excellent" but "excremental" and not "condensed" but "compromised"

No, the 1953 movie will always be better than the 2005 version. Originals are often better than newer versions.
Hey! Look , the new versions are better than the old classic ones and I am not judging you Eric Burow.
GIVE ME !! JEFF WAYNE !! ANYTIME !!? 1978 !! RICHARD BURTON !!!
@@davidwillard7334 this.
@@ericburow6436 I sorta agree but I don't like the films for their force fields are stupid, but hey action films are action films

I love this story but some of the old illustrations really make me smile. It's as is earth was being attacked by an army of Henry vacuum cleaners.😂
Strange how London used to be the center of the world. Or how much our military firepower has increased since 1895
