I saw somewhere that a good listener is someone who could listen to your problems and say “that sucks” or “shit I’m sorry” instead of what a lot of people say like “that’s not as bad as this” or “your fine.” And I think that’s part of why I like Marcus so much. He just cares and acknowledges without trying to make the other person feel like they could fix it. And I never realized it before but it’s true, when you tell someone you had a bad day you’d probably rather hear something like “god that sucks, why?” vs “everyone has bad days, yours probably wasn’t as bad as mine “
