Nestled within the tranquil embrace of nature, my two-story log cabin stands as a testament to rustic elegance and thoughtful design. With a spacious layout and a charming combination of warmth and functionality, this cabin is a haven for those seeking a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
    Size and Structure:
The log cabin boasts a generous size, measuring 38 feet by 34 feet. Its sturdy two-story structure provides ample space for comfortable living while maintaining a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
    Living Spaces:
The heart of the cabin is the living room, a sprawling 19 feet by 15 feet area where family and friends can gather around a crackling fireplace or enjoy the panoramic views through large, strategically placed windows. The kitchen, measuring 16 feet by 15 feet, is designed with both style and functionality in mind, offering a perfect space for culinary creations. Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining area, a charming space measuring 9 feet 10 inches by 14 feet 10 inches, ideal for intimate meals or festive gatherings.
    Bedrooms and Office:
The cabin features two spacious bedrooms, each uniquely designed to offer a comfortable retreat. Bedroom 1 spans 14 feet 6 inches by 11 feet, providing a cozy sanctuary for relaxation. Meanwhile, Bedroom 2 offers a slightly larger space, measuring 13 feet by 14 feet 9 inches, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Additionally, the cabin includes a dedicated office space, measuring 9 feet by 14 feet, perfect for those who need a quiet area to work or pursue personal projects.
    Architectural Harmony:
The design seamlessly blends the charm of a traditional log cabin with modern conveniences. The rustic allure of the logs is complemented by carefully chosen materials and finishes, creating a harmonious balance between nature and contemporary living.
    Conclusion:
In summary, my two-story log cabin is a thoughtfully crafted retreat, harmonizing spaciousness, functionality, and rustic charm. Whether enjoying the warmth of the fireplace, cooking in the well-appointed kitchen, or finding solace in the carefully designed bedrooms, this cabin is a sanctuary where memories are made and tranquility reigns.

Nothing like a million dollar log cabin to get you back to nature.

Beautiful home. I would switch the dining room and the living room taking out the wall where the fireplace is. That way the dining room and the kitchen are closer together.

I agree with you. But then you would have to enlarge what used to be the dining room and shrink what used to be the living room and that would mess up that big front porch.

I may be the only one who feels this way but right from the entrance onward it felt like a pyramid and not in a good way. Maybe it was all the thick heavy wood and the unexpected nooks.

    Gorgeous exterior!
Aw....too bad. You walk into narrow spaces, and hallways. It's useful, but considering the expansive exterior, it's a bit of a let down. The dining room is disconnected from everything. Do people really carry food down the hall to a separate room?
The LR is beautiful, spacious, and well laid out. Love all the windows.
The kitchen doesn't have an island, or a place to eat. No one will carry food to the DR; they'll stop in the LR to eat instead. Maybe figure a way to swap the two rooms? The freezer door won't open fully where it is.
That staircase is pretty, but it'll be difficult moving furniture in, rounding that corner.
Love pocket doors!! That office is enviable. Love all the shelves.
    Nice bath and laundry!
Love the built-ins in the first bedroom.
Another bathroom, with a gigantic window. If this isn't in a private setting, it's always a mistake--unless you're an exhibitionist. That tiny sink with the two separate spigots...nope. It's retro, but totally impractical, and why is it shoved into a corner?
I love the round window in the main bedroom. It's distinctive. I just don't know how you would close it off for privacy--so again, you're going to need a private setting.
Overall, this house feels like an answer to all of those complaining about open floorplans. It's too compartmentalized. Too much unrelenting wood surface. It feels very closed in.

That is a lot of wood! I'd do something different with all those wood floors because its very dizzying to look at. Yes, swap out the dining room with the living room. That master bedroom upstairs should be connected to that one bathroom. There is already another full bath on the 2nd floor. Put half bath on the 1st floor.

The only thing to change. Instead of a full bathroom under the stairs, just a half bath and a closet for storage. Other than that beautiful house. I can see me living there

Although not the open floor plan I am looking for, I can certainly see one huge benefit this home has is all the big logs holding this place up which would make it very wind and tornado resistant. I could live with it. It’s a beautiful solid home. Downstairs bathroom a bit awkward but a Murphy bed could be built into a wall in the dining room and be beautifully disguised but present for overnight guests who would have privacy and a full bath. Not much storage space in this home though, but we would feel safe in its sturdiness.

While I strongly advocate an entry with a coat closet and a bench, this one is overly large, as is the hallway that connects the dining room to the distant kitchen. I also advocate pantries, but this one is not conveniently placed. The downstairs bath could be just a powder room. The stairway has tricky angled steps and no railing. Just moving a door could make one of the upstairs baths ensuite. I love the big upstairs balcony!
I love wood, but not everyone would appreciate this much of it.

I like log cabins but how do you handle areas that have high humidity like baths, laundry and kitchen encountering mold? Dining room is too far from kitchen. Kitchen needs a pantry.

There are clinker bricks and tiles that look like wood, as well as special bathroom floors. But there are also types of wood that are insensitive to moisture. For example, the floor on my terrace is made of Bangkirai, which is not at all sensitive to moisture.

room entrances need to be sligthly larger - very closed atmosphere on the lower level. Has no welcoming/open vibe. Dining room needs to be closer to the kitchen. Stairs not open, very closed feeling - tight/narrow. Hope no one fat goes up these stairs - they'll get stuck. You can move the office to the bottom that the small alcove near the entrance is and widen the stairs and make that weird bathroom to a 1/2 bath. May be do the round window in the stairwell going up and knock out the damn walls in the stairway to make it open, not closed off. I would move the dinning room where the kitchen is and move the kitchn to where the sofa is and make it OPEN. Entertainment room is the dinning room but OPEN ENTERANCE and the fireplace in that room. Change the layout of the upstairs for a 3rd bdrm.

Okay, the last time I saw this much wood in a house was in a vacation home that hadn't been renovated for ages. 🫣
This hasn't actually been so common here in Germany since the 80s. Wooden walls are now rarely seen, wooden ceilings and floors more often, although that has also gone out of fashion in recent years.
Although I like wood and find it cozy, it would be a bit too much for me personally. Either walls, or ceiling and floor, otherwise the result is overwhelming.
