I think left hand drive helps as the torque wants to lift the nearside front, so having the driver there is free ballast.😮and running 8.7 in the 1/4 with less than 700bhp at the wheels is 1) mighty impressive 2) a true measure of you build and turning.

Love this! My Dad used to have a Mk4 Cortina in terracotta brown. It was a 1.6L. Not sure on it's 1/4 mile time! Was your car originally 2 door or so you cut it down? It looks fantastic
So much in a 1300 cc 2 door cortina yer right pull the other one michael that was a cracking video as we know know theres more to the lady than shes showing crack on be safe

Would be great to see the car and you guys at some point. Unfortunately I don’t have the know how to change the engine and all that’s involved, I’d like to have a go but currently have a 6 month old baby so no time 😢
@@spottedmotors interestingly the et/mph calculators put the wheel hp at bang on 700 at the correct weight. Some dynos read low, some high. So if you ever put the car back on the dyno use the same dyno as a valid comparison.

Impressive low weight - my estate is about 1400kg last time I weighed it - without me! If mine weighed only 1250, I'd be close to the 8s too.

Terracotta Brown. What a colour. Yes it's an original UK 2 door mk5. Built back in the 90s when they weren't really worth much or appreciated

1250kg is around 2750lbs. I see Hoonigan listed weight as 2094lbs. Does Michael weigh 650lbs?
😆 Great comment. (Poor Michael) Yer looks to have been some mistake when changing from kg to lbs. The cars weight is 1250kg.
