That lady at the beginning is so nice! She must be an artist or be close to one. So kind to just let you back there with no questions or expectations. Love the shot with the rose petals.
I grew-up in Palm Springs - seeing one of my fav TH-camrs roaming all these familiar spots is trippy in the best way. You've 110% done Palm Springs justice man
“Cooking like a cinnamon roll”. That deserves to be on a t-shirt. Great photo session. It’s always great finding new places or areas of scenery. Good content.
something about the green and gold tones that's just *chef's kiss* ALSO one thing that was so unintentionally satisfying to me was the footage of Willem's swinging arm holding the camera ( 4:59 ) syncing with the background music like a metronome lol
Palm Springs is sooo cool! I think my favorite photo from this episode was the one with the lamp at 8:33 there's just something about it that makes it a really cool scene. It would look cool to have that same composition at different times of day/night
Beautiful episode! I keep admiring not only the film works, but the video too. Shot amazingly and I love the colour grading how it matches the overall look of the Willem's photography. Great job!
As someone who lives in Australia where nearly everything gets demolished and rebuilt every 30 years, Palm Springs honestly looks like something out of a fairytale. Absolutely stunning.
No series gets me quite as excited to go out shooting and visit Cali sometimes. The scenes, the quality of the vid, the light, the colors in your photo, I really can’t mannnnn
Man, I love these! Willem, you have always have the best tones whether it's at night, harsh sun or golden hour. I love how soft your photos are while still 'popping' with colour!
Looks like a ghost town. Like the pictures. However don't know what you did exactly in post but those greens are looking phosphorescent, like you took a page out of Vulhandes's book ;)
Palm Springs was designed to be a winter resort. So it's better to visit at that time of the year. And if you like the architecture of the place, I really suggest taking a look at the photos of Julius Shulman. I have two of his books and the quality simply blew my mind!
Awesome photos!! And really great video to go along with it. You got a lot of pop with that intense light, but kept the colors very well. Standing in the shadows of the trees and getting the house and distant mountains in a very crisp, clear layer effect...wow. The triangular shadow, the flower petals in the pool. That Avanti, can't pass it up. You are spot on about how it complemented the architecture of the house. Love that image of the palm fronds occupying the majority of the frame. Both the video and stills are the kind of stuff I like to shoot. Hint - it is cooler at sunrise. Might improve your commitment to make the trade, LOL. I can relate, I like to sleep in too.
The whole classic cars on the driveway in Palm Springs, sure it's a cliché, but who cares, they add so much character and story to the scene in my opinion. They are beautiful pieces of machinery. Couldn't imagine these homes without them to be honest.
This channel has inspired me to get back into film photography. Dusted off the camera I started photography with, my mom's old Nikon FE, and went and did some basic street photography last weekend in an old small town. Hopefully I'll get good enough to justify buying a medium format.
Hi Willem! Can I answer how do you come up with those soft, dreamy looking images? Is it because of the film, depth of field, medium format or post processing, it's crazy, no noise, all about softness I really love that look in all your photos! Insane work Cheers!
Been stuck in quarantine for a week and one more week to go, but seeing these videos makes me ever more desperate to get out and take photos again with my 35mm cameras.
I'll start off with it took me awhile to get into your style... very different from my landscape roots...but I think I understand your groove and wait to see what you come up with next. This series of videos is looking pretty interesting WIllem... keep clickin'!!!!
Like a damn cinnamon roll Willem? Haha
I think that’s Shakespeare.
I was on the verge of passing out. Best I could do
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh

Was it a week or one night?😂
@@Benjaminjohansson93 night that felt like a week. Go to the Morongo, you'll understand.

That photo of the house with the mountains in the background and bush in the foreground was DOPE! You were right about the light being good there
Yaaaaaassss so excited!!!!
Flashback to the 60's LA, back when it was still at its height

What a fantastic place… film photographers dream!!
Palm Springs is sooo cool! I think my favorite photo from this episode was the one with the lamp at 8:33 there's just something about it that makes it a really cool scene. It would look cool to have that same composition at different times of day/night

This is like the go to relax video after horrible and tireing rainy day
Great video and awesome shots per usual, Willem !
These might be my favorite of Willem’s photos, it’s a cool location
Looks like a ghost town. Like the pictures. However don't know what you did exactly in post but those greens are looking phosphorescent, like you took a page out of Vulhandes's book ;)
Ghost towns get run down and dirty. This looks like a theme park 5 minutes before opening.
absolutely love this series 📺
The most awaited episode of roll notes! Absolutely love these vids and it’s vibe
:)))
2:45 such a beautiful picture
ROLL NOTES! hell yeah

I only know Palm Springs from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air Episode when Will and Carlton try to get there in a mercedes :D
My town! Thank you for this beautiful content
i love everything about this series!
The whole classic cars on the driveway in Palm Springs, sure it's a cliché, but who cares, they add so much character and story to the scene in my opinion. They are beautiful pieces of machinery. Couldn't imagine these homes without them to be honest.
God, it looks like heaven to me. Can’t believe people actually living in such beautiful places.
that shot at 2:45 is ridiculous!

That second shot with the chair was amazing- the way the light cut the scene in half so organically!!
Ur so inspirational. Keep it up man.
Especially the cinnamon roll
I appreciate that!
I feel like Palm Springs is the pinnacle of aesthetics.
Great work!
