Yes. I’m not really mad at this lineup. Though I’d switch Lauren and Camila for consistency reasons. But Camila always took more risks vocally, where Lauren was usually more rooted. Dinah is arguably the best vocalist in 5H, but she was overlooked a lot bc of people’s personal bias. Camila was always seen as the best. If we are going by technical ability Normani is above Lauren, same can be said for Ally and Dinah. Camila always sat in the middle technique wise, she was never the best and never was the worst. Camila always had great breath control, she was always able to move around and manage not to sound winded. Normani has a really sweet voice, that really is perfect for harmonies or stand alone. She only lacks projection and pitch accuracy at times, but when she’s completely confident in her abilities you can’t tell her nothing. Ally’s head voice and belting are out of this world. She is so underrated yet contributes so much vocally to the group, it’s a shame. Dinah is my fave, so to me she can do no wrong, her voice is so strong yet so sweet and soft at the same time. Her runs in my opinion are legendary with the way she plays with her head voice, like melted butter. Lauren just has a voice that draws you in, that rasp you can never really get enough of. her low notes are so heavenly, and when she hits her high notes, I get excited, her vocal tone/timbre is most pleasing to the ears, gotta love her.

I say Normani can do more technically because first she still has all of her range intact and is still learning and seeing a coach. Second, Normani has a whistle register and in fact no one girl can master everything vocally, so yes Lauren has stronger low notes, but I don't see Lauren hitting the whistle register anytime soon. As far as belting is concerned with Normani, it's been said that it just isn't her strength or strong point, every singer has improvements they can work on.

My personal opinion: 1. Dinah/Ally: Such a powerhouse duo. Dinah has the agility and Ally has the emotion. 2. Lauren: She has amazing lows and an outstanding belting power. I love the huskiness of her voice. Makes it such a treat every time I listen to her sing. 3. Camila: She has improved a lot since she left 5h. I never how high her voice is until now, but she is fun to listen to. 4. Normani: I love the warmth and breathiness of her voice. It’s definitely something wonderful.

You don’t use great clips for Lauren and Normani. There are videos of Lauren using her high register and even head voice very beautifully. Lauren barely got to show off her voice in 5H and her time in the group led to strain on her voice plus her voice also changed since teenagehood. Since then she’s worked on taking care of her voice.
I agree with your top 5. I do think that Lauren has a better voice than she actually shows, but as you well said, the five of them are really good and there's a small difference between them that make them be in the position you have decided. I agree with everything you said. I wish Ally and Dinah had more recognition because they are really good vocalists. Normani and Lauren needs to show more of what they can do with their voices to captivate the public. And Camila is actually doing really good, she has a unique voice and she knows how to use it. But they all (except for Ally) deserve better teams who care about them and help them get out there and conquer the music world. If you do follows Camila's solo career you would not say Camila doesn't have technique lol literally you can see reactions from many professionals including honest coach praising the control and certainty in her voice, as well as a lot of notes that she improved over time and that means technique.
I feel like some of them had less opportunities to show off their individuality because their voices didn't really fit that well together. Or maybe the genre they were singing weren't really suited to their voices. Dinah has said that since her voice didn't really suit pop that well, she had to adjust her voice and I think she didn't get many lines. Camila's voice was very pop and their music as a group suited her well. Normani's voice is beautiful but it wasn't really "big" so oftentimes she had to be pushed to the background. I'm glad she had a chance to shine on her own. Lauren's unique husky tone stood out along with Camila's and Ally got to do the big notes + her voice was versatile, so pop worked well for them. Overall, I'm glad they're doing what works for their voices now and really stepping into their own.
Even though the sound of Camila's voice is quite polarizing, but you can't deny the fact that she's a great singer, her technique is stunning. She's definitely better vocally than the 2 behind.

I mostly agree but I would flip Ally and Dinah if we are talking about vocal ability. Ally has the most stamina and range in chest voice but Dinah Camila and Lauren have a more interesting tone to their voices
I think Normanis voice is basic nothing special but her stage presence is everything not to mention her dancing. Laurens voice at one point would have been considered unique but her style of vocals is very popular right now so she get lost in the crowd. Camila voice is so different from the other girls and almost anyone else in the mainstream and I think that why she’s so successful. Ally and Dinah both have powerhouse vocals but unfortunately we already have so many amazing powerhouse singers that they can’t compete with the Beyoncé’s of the world.
People don’t seem to get why Camilla has been the most successful. It’s her unique sound and unique sells records. By no means is she the best singer in 5H. Dinah and Ally didn’t really get to show off their voices. I didn’t realize how good they were until these reviews started.

Or it was the fact she could hit them at 16 but as she got older her voice settled and it is in a lower register. Nevermind including smoking and drinking. Voices dont always stay in the same register they did when you were 16 years old.

@@femme2442 she is great now as she is able to sing perfectly in higher register as well. Smoking might have some effect but she literally used to sing only low notes in almost every 5h songs (except MMO and boss) or she didn't had a part (like in worth it or sledgehammer)

Yall need to pipe down she rating them based on vocal ability nothing else. It doesn't matter who your bias is or who u like the most. You should be able to admit that some are better vocalist than others that doesn't make them any better than them as whole. Each member it best at something and bring something to the table. Example: I prefer normani over camila but I can admit that camila is the better vocalist and Normani is the better dancer.
Lauren is my all time favourite voice because of that eargasmic rasp but Dinah has much more vocal range and control and is clearly the best singer out of the five thanks to her control and vocal range and ability to play with her voice💕
ISince X Factor Dinah has been my favorite , because of her Powerful and Agile voice!! She always stood out for me. But all have their strength Laurrn, husky beautiful tone, Camila's unique agile runs, Normani's low tone and beautiful head voice and Ally Powerful belts and vibrato. All the girls are Vocalist in their own right.
I would change Camila and Lauren,but I'm not professional. Ally can also sing opera,she has a wonderful voice as Dinah Jane - my favourite. Both are very underrated, it was so sad when 5H's management was focus on Camila.

Tbh I don't agree with Ally I always felt she was always pitchy in her harmonies. My number 5 was Allie 4 was Lauren 3 was Normani 2 was Camilla but I had Dinah as 1 because of her range and tone.
If we are going based solely off technique then yes Dinah wins hands down and she didn’t even get as much of an opportunity to show her full capability in the group. She has the second best agility behind Dinah in my opinion since she doesn't have the tendency to overdue her vocal runs and they musically blend better with the songs she's singing. She also has the second best lower register behind Lauren despite having a far lighter voice than Lauren's. Her head voice and falsetto is also one of the best in the group and she's the most developed member when it comes to her whistles.

I understand the motivation but I don't agree on all the positions, but probably it is more personal taste. I would swap Ally and Camilla, because yes Ally has great versatility and better warmth but Camilla's tone is so recognisable and she has something about her that is magnetic. It is also needless to say that Dinah is indeed the best vocalist and that they are all amazing singers. In the end it comes down to personal taste. 😊
Not sure about technique, I mean we barely get to hear Normani here, but if I had to choose who I would want to listen to most often, I'd say Lauren, Normani and Dinah. Their tones are just heavenly. Ally, although not my cup of tea musically, has phenomenal range and clearly deserves to be as big as Mariah (again, not my thing), but was so stifled by being in this group. I will happily never listen to Squeaky, I mean Camila, ever again. She's obviously talented, if that's your thing, but, imo, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard.
The voice power never meant to be the first or main success standard, for example Normani and Camila not the most powerful voices among the group, but they are the most successful as solo artists and tbh they are the only 2 from the group who shine and get popularity. Dinah has said that since her voice didn't really suit pop that well, she had to adjust her voice and I think she didn't get many lines. Camila's voice was very pop and their music as a group suited her well. Normani's voice is beautiful but it wasn't really "big" so oftentimes she had to be pushed to the background. I'm glad she had a chance to shine on her own. Lauren's unique husky tone stood out along with Camila's and Ally got to do the big notes + her voice was versatile, so pop worked well for them. Overall, I'm glad they're doing what works for their voices now and really stepping into their own.
Pop worked for Normani voice I just don’t think it worked for dinahs voice that much
Dinah and Ally deserve that top 2. Dinah has always been my fave, wonder why she never got the recognition she deserves.
Even though the sound of Camila's voice is quite polarizing, but you can't deny the fact that she's a great singer, her technique is stunning. She's definitely better vocally than the 2 behind.

I mostly agree but I would flip Ally and Dinah if we are talking about vocal ability. Ally has the most stamina and range in chest voice but Dinah Camila and Lauren have a more interesting tone to their voices
I think Normanis voice is basic nothing special but her stage presence is everything not to mention her dancing.
Laurens voice at one point would have been considered unique but her style of vocals is very popular right now so she get lost in the crowd.
Camila voice is so different from the other girls and almost anyone else in the mainstream and I think that why she’s so successful.
Ally and Dinah both have powerhouse vocals but unfortunately we already have so many amazing powerhouse singers that they can’t compete with the Beyoncé’s of the world.

People don’t seem to get why Camilla has been the most successful. It’s her unique sound and unique sells records. By no means is she the best singer in 5H. Dinah and Ally didn’t really get to show off their voices. I didn’t realize how good they were until these reviews started.
Camila has the it-factor. She really deserves everything she has achieved and she deserves even more. Such a talented and beautiful person inside out.

Lauren was not given a chance to sing higher notes, as her voice is deep and husky, hence her higher range is not that good.

Or it was the fact she could hit them at 16 but as she got older her voice settled and it is in a lower register. Nevermind including smoking and drinking. Voices dont always stay in the same register they did when you were 16 years old.
@@Alex-jd3bs but also management forced her to sing the low notes/harmonies and it destroyed her voice. Since the hiatus her technique has gotten so much better and she's hitting high notes a lot more.
This isn’t true she was often given a chance but I think smoking ruined that upper range for her. It’s simply not as easy for her to hit them now
@@femme2442 she is great now as she is able to sing perfectly in higher register as well. Smoking might have some effect but she literally used to sing only low notes in almost every 5h songs (except MMO and boss) or she didn't had a part (like in worth it or sledgehammer)
@@femme2442 She has improved though, and I think it's because she's not being forced to sing those low notes anymore. Although not the easiest part of her range, her high notes are definitely easier now than a few years ago.
Yall need to pipe down she rating them based on vocal ability nothing else. It doesn't matter who your bias is or who u like the most. You should be able to admit that some are better vocalist than others that doesn't make them any better than them as whole. Each member it best at something and bring something to the table.
Example: I prefer normani over camila but I can admit that camila is the better vocalist and Normani is the better dancer.
Lauren is my all time favourite voice because of that eargasmic rasp but Dinah has much more vocal range and control and is clearly the best singer out of the five thanks to her control and vocal range and ability to play with her voice💕
ISince X Factor Dinah has been my favorite , because of her Powerful and Agile voice!! She always stood out for me. But all have their strength Laurrn, husky beautiful tone, Camila's unique agile runs, Normani's low tone and beautiful head voice and Ally Powerful belts and vibrato. All the girls are Vocalist in their own right.

I would change Camila and Lauren,but I'm not professional. Ally can also sing opera,she has a wonderful voice as Dinah Jane - my favourite. Both are very underrated, it was so sad when 5H's management was focus on Camila.

Tbh I don't agree with Ally I always felt she was always pitchy in her harmonies. My number 5 was Allie 4 was Lauren 3 was Normani 2 was Camilla but I had Dinah as 1 because of her range and tone.
If we are going based solely off technique then yes Dinah wins hands down and she didn’t even get as much of an opportunity to show her full capability in the group. I definitely agree with majority of this take tho lol! Whether you think one girl has a better range/tone than the other, it’s what they do with that in regards to technique/agility that can rlly determine them as a vocalist. And ofc we all have our own preferences but a great video nonetheless!

She has the second best agility behind Dinah in my opinion since she doesn't have the tendency to overdue her vocal runs and they musically blend better with the songs she's singing. She also has the second best lower register behind Lauren despite having a far lighter voice than Lauren's. Her head voice and falsetto is also one of the best in the group and she's the most developed member when it comes to her whistles.

I understand the motivation but I don't agree on all the positions, but probably it is more personal taste. I would swap Ally and Camilla, because yes Ally has great versatility and better warmth but Camilla's tone is so recognisable and she has something about her that is magnetic. It is also needless to say that Dinah is indeed the best vocalist and that they are all amazing singers. In the end it comes down to personal taste. 😊

Not sure about technique, I mean we barely get to hear Normani here, but if I had to choose who I would want to listen to most often, I'd say Lauren, Normani and Dinah. Their tones are just heavenly. Ally, although not my cup of tea musically, has phenomenal range and clearly deserves to be as big as Mariah (again, not my thing), but was so stifled by being in this group. I will happily never listen to Squeaky, I mean Camila, ever again. She's obviously talented, if that's your thing, but, imo, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard.
