Deadlift: The hardest, easy looking workout you'll ever do. For the novice out there pay attention to the advice in this video it will save you from devastating injuries. There's a lot of little things you have to be doing right all at the same time when doing this lift.
Hi Larry, George here! I was your UBER driver when you and your friend arrived at the Charlotte NC Airport. Enjoyed your tips and Technics on this video. I new you where a BEAST but man Larry lol! Nice seeing you again.
killxswitch how is he just a prop ? Dude puts crazy numbers on platform and obviously he’s going to let his coach talk, he wouldn’t have a coach if he didn’t think he needed it or to instruct him and his following .
sorry to be off topic but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
Thank you both so much for this video. I watched it during my warm up and then put it into practice for my deadlifts. Immediately noticed the improvement in stability, leverage and mindset by not spending too long at the bottom. I got confident and managed to hit my previous 1RM for a triple. Thank you!
Worked out my whole life....only started deadlifting the past 6 months. Made more gains in 6 months than the previous 30 years of training. Legit. 6 months, 2x per week....5 sets of 5
Good video, text book description followed by a visual example on form. I like that you explain "engaging the lats". A lot of people overlook this key part of (engaging specific muscle) any lift.
I have been following you for a while now and kind of imitated your form because you are obviously a pro. But now getting instructions on it really helps. Thanks a lot!!! P.S. Are you sure you want to give away all your valuable secrets?
Thank you. @1:35 Forget about knee this and shin that which everybody is always arguing about (Pete vs Rip, for example). That crap does not matter. *Everybody* needs to be over midfoot, but not everybody's shins are going to wind up in the same place at setup so don't get hung up on that nonsense; just get it midfoot.
I've always wondered about your deadlift because it is a very quick setup. Definitely going to work on mine since I've noticed I can sike myself out real hard when taking too long to set up
I workout at school im a beginner sometimes with my friend i do 50 sometimes i want deadlift 60 or 70 i also do beaching i do 20 25 30 depends on barbell for me i also did battel ropes for first time to day i do chest fly i do 8 or 6 or 10 dumbel i do 10 20 25 i do curls
Can you also point out Larry's bracing for multiple reps? Does he only brace once? How is his bracing sequence when using straps (in case he ever uses them)?
I've heard "engage your lats" in many powerlifting videos, what is the purpose of this? and what happens if you don't? and how does it benefit your lift?
Is there people who cant lift 135? The first time I did it with olimpic plates I lifted 120kg (265lbs) Then tried on the gym and lifted 258lbs with much more effort. I didnt compare the plates so maybe it was more bar travel. Whats the legal height in competition?
Sure you cant do more? If it was a 1st time you have to learn the movement and it takes time. Btw im 81kg and lifted 120kg my first time and then 117kg was much harder
It isn't easy for a elite level powerlifter like LW to explain. It's already 2nd nature to him. Done it so many times. Not sure how many years he's been at it.

People that are talking shit about Larry’s attitude and faces , obviously don’t follow Larry too much lol .
The problem is that Larry is just a prop for the other dude. I'd rather hear Larry talk about it.

Criminally underrated
Worked out my whole life....only started deadlifting the past 6 months. Made more gains in 6 months than the previous 30 years of training. Legit. 6 months, 2x per week....5 sets of 5
I find them even better than squats for overall gains
Good video, text book description followed by a visual example on form.
I like that you explain "engaging the lats". A lot of people overlook this key part of (engaging specific muscle) any lift.
I watched this video and then went to the gym and set a new PB on deadlift.
True story bro.
I love this. More content like this would be great.
Great tips definitely trying this out tomorrow! Thanks a ton
Thanks for all the tips, I learned a lot and have a few areas I can improve on.
Soo weird, like hes soooo young, and just too strong, i love it, he shuts people up , 5 years from now, im scared what the numbers are going to be,
Such a great lift breakdown! Deadlift is something I tend to struggle with and there was some really helpful stuff in here
Definitely some great tips that I have not heard of in others how to vids

I have been following you for a while now and kind of imitated your form because you are obviously a pro. But now getting instructions on it really helps. Thanks a lot!!!
P.S. Are you sure you want to give away all your valuable secrets?
I think there are a few more factors that are necessary to become a PL on that level :D
Larry has the best deadlift ever!!
Love these videos brother. Keep em coming
You gotta do a 'How to OHP', cause your OHP is in a class of its own.
Thanks for the video Larry, very informative and helpful... I appreciate it
Even George Leeman uses straps so even if you are a competitive powerlifter its fine to use straps. Just make sure to get some grip work in.
Can’t wait for the other lifts
Thank you. @1:35 Forget about knee this and shin that which everybody is always arguing about (Pete vs Rip, for example). This video really help me get more explosion and hit a PR. Appreciate the insight

Larry is definitely on the juice
He’s only openly admitted about a million times.
i can't hear what larry saying cuz this dude just speaks over him!
larry looks like he's eaten 3 full grown men
@Thor Odinson huh
Thor Odinson are you for real 😂 Larry is a monster better shape than most bodybuilders you haven’t got a clue
@Thor Odinson wait till they lift heavy weights with Larry they'd look like kids😂
Getting this notification while deadlifting!!!
to late brother
Can you also point out Larry's bracing for multiple reps? Does he only brace once? How is his bracing sequence when using straps (in case he ever uses them)?
Even his laugh is strong
$19.99
Shayne LON did you get it though?
Link in my bio
Couldn't stop looking at the map to atlantas on his right forearm
Bro grabbing his arm like damn! 😂😂😂
Would you recommend alternating which hand is over and under for more even sort of development?
Great info especially when it’s deadlift aka real quick one way vacation to snap city! Can you plz do on ones military press and squats thanks
What do you think of a double-supinated/underhanded grip for non-competitive deadlifts?
when powerlifting What rep range should i do to build up my deadlift?
1 rep max. Clean
Look at the 5-3-1 program by Jim Wendler
When gyms open I’m buying all his programs lol
Standing there with that Jiren stance
thanks for tips
11:03 "once he's fully erect..."
phrasing
David Livermore i love how he says and doesn’t even realise/care how it sounds 😂
Very good information, great teachers! Thanks guys!
Giving away your secrets!?!!
I do recreational Deaf lifts maybe about 2-3x per week...what am I doing wrong if I am feeling Scrotal pressure/pinching ?
Using the hookgrip makes for a longer setup. Sucks because I do sike myself out of some lifts
in fairness shin touching the bar is just fine Andy b swears by it improved my numbers too
Crazy how far Larry has gone from here
On the top of the lift are you suppose to or will you be able to feel your lats contract? I never understand how deadlifts develops back gains
carlos L Your back muscles prevent your arms from ripping out of their sockets.
Are you supposed to slide the bar over the shins and up the thigh and back down again?
Yes
that is nice thx man
I've heard "engage your lats" in many powerlifting videos, what is the purpose of this? and what happens if you don't? and how does it benefit your lift?
Its Gumii it keeps the bar close to your body, bar doesnt drift away from your body.
Its Gumii also keeps back safe by keeping neutral spine
I never see you do accessories, do you ever do stuff like rack pulls?
What about Sumo deadlift?
Never taught of it like that the hinge part
I feel like that the trainer was about to make love to his forarm.
give us a low bar squat video and hand placement on the bar
Is there people who cant lift 135? The first time I did it with olimpic plates I lifted 120kg (265lbs) Then tried on the gym and lifted 258lbs with much more effort. I didnt compare the plates so maybe it was more bar travel. Whats the legal height in competition?
I can lift only 100 pounds because im only 60kg
Sure you cant do more? If it was a 1st time you have to learn the movement and it takes time.
Btw im 81kg and lifted 120kg my first time and then 117kg was much harder
Olympic bars/ plates make a big difference over 100kg, they stop the roll of the plates interfering with the lift.
Larry doesn't care about much. Lol
Let Larry speak Coach!! Stop cutting him off!
The greatest
Larry Williams? Who is that?
5:27 so that’s why you always do one shurg before deadlift. You get your arms as low as you can..
Liftin like larry
i wanna be like larry
Just wondering what brand of shirt is that larry wearing?
06:19
07:24

11:03.... Oh hello!! In all seriousness though this video is great.
I commented before finishing video so u might see thisyour a pimp my guy
